It's rare that you see stuff removed from the Nth to trash.
but then I read this
in Trash, 11 hours ago, by Gustavo6046
They should just nuke North Korea once for all...
and now I am not surprised it was removed. :s @Quill
That's not even why the messages were deleted
What happened? I can't really understand from the Trash chatroom
I'm not seeing any of that (presumably cus it's deleted)
Lol
don't delete your comments.
there's no point censoring it
meh
anyway yeah, that was about it
Did Gustav get banned or?
Cus the NK comment he made was pretty, uh, extreme
no
I said that, yeah
it only got moved later
10:44
Okay
did anyone point it out to him
?
Yes
Alright, good

@Gustavo6046 This is a friendly, but firm warning. Please watch what you post in this room. If you want to talk politics with others, invite them to The Nth Monitor, that's what we created it for. Thank you.
holy fuck what?
he posted it in the 2nd monitor
dang
yes
10:46
that's the mother of all fuckups lol
well something like that
I thoguht it was posted in the nth
that would explain why I can't view half of the conversation
I find that when users ping people who aren't relevant to the conversation, they're often spammers or help vampires
and he was doing that
I made a Korea (moderately SFW) joke in The Nineteenth Byte, which prompted him to make that comment
so it was partly my fault
it's probably still starred there, actually
It's alright, it'sj ust knowing the line
He jsut needs to learn what is and isn't appropriate
for someone with not so much social experience it's not that easy

@El'endiaStarman Don't send it to Code Review! That's like sending a warring country your missile launch codes!
in The Nineteenth Byte, 11 hours ago, by Quill
It's like sending Korea a box set of Friends
10:52
@Quill lol
The ironic part is that Asian countries actually really like Friends
I've seen people with just random english words on their clothes befre
reminds me of people that get chinese tattoos that actually mean nothing
Yeah, It's doubly funny when you actually understand the language and you see the meaning nothing tattoos and you understand the Kanji
11:15
I just got invited to my employer's private healthcare and i have no idea what any of these wrods mean
lol
Also I am so excited for the DEadpool release, for once a movie is being released in the UK sooner than anywhere else

@DanPantry Assuming you mean some kind of private healthcare cover, it's really nice. NHS is great for helping people in emergencies, but frustratingly slow for anything else (See: Non-emergency operations, chronic care, non-emergency A&E etc.)
@Zak Yeah, I know. I had to call up my local doctors FIFTY TIMES yesterday at 8am to get an appointment because they won't let you book in advance
I then had to wait at the doctors for 40 minutes after my appointment time only to be told to keep doing what I'm doing.
and I'm not joking I do mean 50 times
because their phone line only allows 1 person to be in the queue at a time
It's so stupid

Zak
11:58
@DanPantry WOW
That is an, impressive, level of idiocy
Then you have the 26 NHS dentists in cardiff, all of which are not accepting any more NHS patients..
12:12
Hey @DanPantry you know TSQL right?
@Quill Just about, I'm not the best person to ask about it, though. Why?
I want to don't want to select duplicates
also I knew you knew C# so I figured you would
SELECT DISTINCT will select distinct rows
Though, that might not be what you are looking for
that seems to work
thanks
not a problem

Something for those of you who love mega-engineering projects. This is the Prelude, (soon to be) the largest floating structure in history. With the River Thames for scale:

That ship is impressive, but it's not a rubber duck.

What the fuck
HOW CAN YOU CHARGE £425 FOR AN ADMIN FEE
Zak
Zak
14:32
@DanPantry Because people are willing to pay it? Capitalism suggests that either people are happy to pay that fee for their services, or they're not and they'll go out of business.
That said, I agree, seems Ridiculous to charge the (prospective) tenant
I can understand a £100 admin fee.
£200 is.. pushing it
£425 just seems completely unjustifiable.
That's the rent of a small house.

I've found it very hard to focus recently. What do? I can't seem to concentrate on my work.

@DanPantry What kind of time scale does "Recently" Encompass?
This week

Could just be a passing thing. My productivity got really bad the last fortnight of last year.
Difficult to diagnose without being inside your head ^^
I think its just because its the first week back in the new year, I guess
I'm usually pretty unproductive after long breaks, takes a week or so to get back into it
Doesn't help I wrote nearly no code over the holidays, either
Zak
Zak
@DanPantry I'm the opposite. Breaks allow me to recharge (usually).
@Zak 1-2 day breaks let me recharge.
2 week breaks..
Zak
Zak
15:59
I'll admit, breaks > a couple days have no extra benefit AFAICT, but they tend not to start being a detrement.
They usually don't on me but I literally don't write any code at all for 2 weeks, and that's the first time I've done that
For a long, long time
