Q: Should the tag [united-kingdom] be removed, and replaced with its 4 countries?

Canada - Area 51 Proposalhttps://law.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/united-kingdom contains the warning: Note that the UK does not have a common legal system across its jurisdictions - consider using [scotland] or [england-and-wales] or [northern-ireland]. Yet many posts with this tag still neglect this distin...

Q: Should we discourage answering a question when voting to close?

Massimo OrtolanoI've been thinking of writing this for a while. It doesn't happen frequently but, yes, it happens: a user answers a question and also votes to close it. Though not forbidden by the system, I think that such kind of behaviour is bad in two ways: It confuses the questioner, especially when they ...

@D.Hutchinson I recall the scenario in which you had a quarrel with moderators of that awkward chat room. That time I didn't read the detail of your precedent conversation, so can't judge who is right or wrong, but I felt you all were probably fussing because I didn't really see any point worth of such long a quarrel.

But now I see another quarrel occurring to a chat room, and during the quarrel the moderators seem to support each other to criticize together the plantiff. I don't know if I omit any point. If I don't, and if this is a common culture in chat rooms here, I don't feel good for it.

To explain, I find that as soon as students are in f...

@CaptainBohemian yeah, I remember that, too. but, over time, say, several months, I realize that the mods in that room (mods who moderate the corresponding main site + mods who just hang out there but moderate other SE sites) do a pretty good job with objectively calling out the ones who are stirring up drama. So I don't really question their judgment too much, after seeing that they handle things pretty well, overall.
Plus, I think that's a pretty closely-monitored room, even by Stack Exchange staff members, because of its subject matter, so I don't worry about any one person having any unfair influence.
@CaptainBohemian there's physics meta drama? I'll be sure to check it out after my dinner tonight :)
(I had been catching up on the SciFi drama ... )
