Q: Why's "agree + direct object" correct?

himsThis answer appears wrong, because two reputable English contract law textbooks and many English judges write "agree + direct object". Anson's Law of Contract 2020 31 edn. p 65. @Void Thanks for replying. However I have a doubt. Please check this question out if possible.
Why are need and dare used as modal verb? What is so uncertain about these two words?
08:30
@RajorshiKoyal I really don't know :/ I wish I knew. You needn't use them if you don't want
08:51
@RajorshiKoyal why is it uncertain? I mean what do you want to know?

@RajorshiKoyal They're not modal verbs though, are they? I'm sure some crazy linguist somewhere has argued for that anyway. They're just historical relics AFAIK.
@RajorshiKoyal Another case where you need to be clear whether you would a linguistic treatise on it (which no chat participant here can provide) or whether you want to learn how to use them, whether for exam purposes or if you want to genuinely learn.
And since it's probably the latter, you're not going to find any sort of useful framework for that. Don't wrap your head around why are they used the way they are, just take it to heart

@Void Great. Participating here and there, where I can. I see you are doing quite fabulous work yourself!
