Rhodiola rosea (commonly golden root, rose root, roseroot, Aaron's rod, Arctic root, king's crown, lignum rhodium, orpin rose) is a perennial flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae. It grows naturally in wild Arctic regions of Europe (including Britain), Asia, and North America, and can be propagated as a groundcover. Rhodiola rosea has been used in traditional medicine for several disorders, notably including treatment of anxiety and depression. As of 2019, there is no high-quality clinical research to indicate it is effective for treating any disorder, and the United States Food and Drug...
Me and dad took hiking trips to find it, collect its root, and then we made an alcolol tincture of it, and sold it.

@AIQ Normally not a lot of people look at the reviews. That is how I reviewed 3k+ new posts. So if you take a look at the queues a few times a day you will get plenty

@EddieKal Btw my recent flag got rejected. I still don't feel that answer is relevant. It doesn't talk about ellipsis. Just points out that the original version had a comma. And mentions other things that is not relevant to elliptical constructions. It would serve better as a comment, I think.

Give me a link?

Okay I guess that was me. I agree it doesn't touch on ellipsis directly, but the original question wasn't about ellipsis either
It came in the form of a dissenting opinion. Yes, as it stands it is more suitable as a comment than an answer, but I felt it offered a new perspective different from existing answers
I thought about converting it but with embedded quotations it is hard to do
Let's leave it be for the time being. If I see future flags I will do something about it

Sure ... I just wanted to confirm ... thanks EddieKal

@AIQ Thanks for actively helping!
Btw I meant to ask you something

AIQ
sure

I wanted to try nihari, which you introduced me to several months back. Found a recipe on YouTube and it calls for a ton of spices. I have been able to get my hands on everything but two spices: shah jeera and ajwain
After reading their information online, I've become more confused
What exactly are shah jeera and ajwain?

AIQ
"jeera" is cumin seeds

I saw a pack of ajwain at a store yesterday, but it also says "caraway" on the package. I thought ajwain and caraway were two different spices
okay what about shah jeera? Just regular cumin or a darker variety? (some online articles have left me the impression there are more than one kind)

AIQ
6:28 AM
"shah/shahi jeera" is caraway seeds, I think
I am not familiar with "ajwain"
But shah jeera has a bit more stronger flavor than the normal jeera, which is cumin seeds

I see. They all look alike. haha. As much as I am obsessed with food and spices, I have a hard time wrapping my head around them

AIQ
yes the shahi jeera is a bit darker, longer, and thinner
oh and a bit sweeter too than the normal jeera

I see. Thank you!

AIQ
have you tried an indian store for these?

Yes. But there aren't many Indian stores in my area. I went to the only one close-by yesterday and bought some atta and chickpea flour. I also saw ajwain and "black cumin" in the spice section but wasn't sure they were what I was looking for

AIQ
6:35 AM
black cumin is kalee jeera
kalee or kali means black lol
no

which doesn't look like cumin, right?

AIQ
they are on the extreme end
if you don't find shahi jeera (called caraway seeds), then use the regular jeera (cumin seeds)
taste wise the only difference is in the sweetness

A mumpsimus () is a "traditional custom obstinately adhered to however unreasonable it may be", or "someone who obstinately clings to an error, bad habit or prejudice, even after the foible has been exposed and the person humiliated; also, any error, bad habit, or prejudice clung to in this fashion". Thus it may describe behaviour or the person who behaves thus. For example, all intensive purposes is a common eggcorn of the fixed expression all intents and purposes; if a person continues to say the eggcorn even after being made aware of the correct form, either the speaker or the phrase may be...

@Cardinal "towards" doesn't work with fascinated. One is fascinated by or with something, or one has a fascination with something. — TypeIA 10 hours ago
Do you confirm this as well? For some reason, I think it is possible to have a certain feeling towards something.

5:36 PM
@Cardinal It doesn't sound idiomatic to me to say I'm fascinated towards something.
I've never heard that, and it sounds off.
Looking at the Google Ngram Viewer chart, you'll find it's not a very common sequence of words (fascinated towards, that is) in comparison to fascinated by and fascinated with.

@Cardinal You can have a certain feeling towards something. You can't be fascinated towards something.
Only I can.
You expect this to follow some sort of logic where since two constructive have similar meanings they should use the same prepositions.
In other words, "language bruh"
@ColleenV Was that who they were cheering in Gladiator?
It's such a handy word. Too bad it's archaic
@userr2684291 You're a vibrant purplish color now
I think they call it magenta? Or violet? One of those two
Actually it's kinda a magentic violet

5:54 PM
It's fuchsia, actually.
(It isn't, I just wanted to needlessly correct you.)
@M.A.R. Well, it certainly matches my personality and mood.

Ew.
@userr2684291 Now I feel color blind
Also don't ever google magenta, violet, or fuchsia if you wanna keep your eyesight.

That actually reminds me of an exchange between my classmate and my music history teacher, where she asked him what colors the violins in some composition we listened to were, and he answered brown, naturally.

I see he will be the next Beethoven
Also, do please sneeze and change your gravatar, because if I ever pictured radioactive trash as anything other than glowing green, it'd be the color of your current avatar, and it's making me sick

If only it were that easy...
I have to log out... then log back in, and the Google thing this account's tied to requires me to maneuver my pointing device.
You'll have to file a ticket.
Btw, I got a new keyboard! (Yay!) Except now I'm used to all these stupid shortcuts, and I'm using it as my old, broken one(s).
Something like this.

@userr2684291 I hadn't said that I am fascinated towards it. What I said was "I feel fascinated towards something" @M.A.R.
Thanks anyways.
