Jesus, how do you tell someone that the color (they dyed their hair) of their hair is fading? Is this understandable - Your color's fading?
I don't think they would understand if I don't mention "hair"!

@AIQ Why would you tell someone something critical about their appearance that they’re probably aware of? I mean, what’s your goal in telling them?
Are you trying to tell them it looks bad? or you’re surprised by how quickly it faded?
15:58
@AIQ Seems odd not to mention the hair.
How does one improve the usage of his/her existing vocabulary? I mean that can anyone suggest methods in which I can stop or at least reduce my fumbling with words to express myself. I find that I am not able to express myself very clearly often using excessively long phrases where short words (which I already know) could have been used.
@Sristy Practice makes perfect.

Yeah but Practice of what ? Reading/Writing/etc What exactly? I read a lot and henceforth encounter a lot of new words.I think maybe that's why at times the simplest words go past me . What can I do ?

@ColleenVpartedways Well, I was going to ask them if they are going to re-dye their hair the same color as before or if they are getting a different bizarre color this time. Well, let's see, I basically want to come out as a caring friend, but secretly I just want them to go freakout and panic and stuff.
@Sristy I am going to tell you what you have heard a gajillion times before. Slow down and collect your thoughts. That accomplishes two things. (1) The other person feels like you were actually paying attention to what they were saying and (2) it helps you reduce the fumbling and better express yourself. Slowing down your speech will help with clarity too. It will help you avoid the umms and buts.

@Sristy If text is your only communication medium, you should be writing more. Of course, if you can speak well, writing won't be difficult, so practice speaking as well.
@AIQ "Hey you might want to get some new drapes."

@M.A.R. Who is this Mike? And what is Chomsky responding to in this essay?
I admire Chomsky, but I don't agree with that piece of writing.
20:09
I don't understand Chomsky, and when he writes about politics, I don't understand even more
So when I see someone post some Chomsky on politics, I just scroll further.
To the very bottomry I scroll, where the whole enchilada of facebook jokery is stashed.

@CowperKettle At the bottomry where all the fun is you see cowperkettle handing out jokes like lollipops

@EddieKal Drapes? Aren't they long curtains?
Hello Eddie Kal
@AIQ Yeah it was a joke, or an attempted one
== English == === Phrase === the carpet matches the drapes (colloquial, vulgar, humorous) A woman's pubic hair is of the same colour as the hair on her head, i.e. her hair is not dyed. ==== Usage notes ==== Often in the form of a question: "Does the carpet match the drapes?" ==== Synonyms ==== the curtains match the drapes...
sorry that wasn't a very good one. couldn't resist it
