If y'all are bored, and want to troll some spammers, SuperUser is experiencing a spam wave. Smokey functionality is limited (i.e. no autoflagging), so manual flags are helpful. SuperUser site, Charcoal HQ. Even though autoflagging isn't functional, automatic spam reports are still coming in, so clicking on post links manually and flagging will help
Some people are already either running low, or have run out of flags (like me), so every little bit helps.
No commitment nor pressure obv
if anything it's free progress towards the haha funny deputy and marshal badges on SuperUser :p

Obsidian's spelling correction is kinda terrible, isn't it? It can rarely suggest the correct spelling even if I'm just one letter or two out
Some quick experimentation seems to work just fine
Browser version or app?
app
desktop app
Weird. It didn't suggest "happiness" from "happyness" for example, even though it's just one replacement
13:44
Hmm I wonder if I have somehow configured it wrong
Have you set it to american or british english?
british
Weird
apart from setting it up, I haven't actually really touched my installation
I think I added one word to the dictionary (an esolang related term) before realising that it doesn't sync cross-platform without a subscription and just not touching it again lol
meaning it should be working right out of the box
I do have both english (UK) and dutch language installed, maybe it doesn't deal with multiple languages well
Could be that
14:36
@mousetail just out of curiosity i was looking at your website, and i noticed that "preferred" was spelled incorrectly in "My prefered tech", might wanna change that :-)
Thanks, I'm terrible at spelling
simple mistake, especially if english isn't your mother language :)
I'm actually officialy diagnosed with dysgrafia, which effects my ability to spell
you should use a spellchecker tool, a lot of people at my workplace have dyslexia or similar things, and i think they use grammarly to help them out
or perhaps run the text through AI as long as it's not changing your wording or anything
@mousetail this is surprisingly on topic haha
(i did notice 2 more mistakes on your portfolio so you might wanna check through it when you get time, especially as anyone viewing it will be unaware that you have dysgrafia. you can also mention me if you need help, a google search is probably faster though)
14:59
(isn't it dysgraphia? or is this an en_us vs en_gb thing)
15:15
you'd be correct i think
15:40
@devoid I do have one, but it's a bit unreliable inside code
@mousetail Seems there have been several such bug reports in the past closed as "could not reproduce"
(Oh pinging yourself does actually play the sound after a significant delay, interesting)
@mousetail i have the custom sound userscript that means i get to self report
16:24
@mousetail sounds about right :P

@mousetail Seems this is actually an 2 year old Electron bug github.com/electron/electron/issues/38876
19:17
@mousetail Isn’t there some movie title that spells it like that on purpose? It might be desensitized by that LMAO
20:10
@lyxal Breaking news: big bird pecks frog to death.
> we recommend you wear standard PPE i.e face shield, lab coat and cloves at all times.
Guess my chem lab is working with vampires

@UnrelatedString Yep
@mousetail This particular instance is reminiscent of the famous officially correct misspelling
