My linkedin account got banned :(
Probably because I put my "interests" as "drinking, crime, SDC buggy" and my "skills" as Physical Security, Criminal Intelligence, Sexology, Cocktails, and some fifth one along those lines that I have since forgotten
and also I wrote a linkedin article about "abusing stimulants in a professional context and blaming my productivity on the pomodoro method"
Surprised that's banable, LinkedIn has a lot of joke accounts with similar bios
Oh the article would do it
You can't really talk about drugs in most places

Q: Card-Jitsu Part 2: Make a Card-Jitsu clone

Weird GlyphsPart 1 is available here. Card-Jitsu was a mini card-game based on Rock, Paper, Scissors available on the children MMO game Club Penguin. A lot of footage of this game is available online, and may be useful if you want to know what the actual game looks like. However, you obviously don't need to ...

I would also send as many personalized connection requests as it would let me with a free account, always with the message "caught lacking"

CMP: What should the result of compare be for two values that are not equal, nor orderable?
0
make sure compare is not used for equality

@ATaco Ideally, a distinct "incomparable" value that exists solely for that purpose :P
or rather, in a type system that makes that meaningfully possible, you'd just have an option type wrapping a 3-way result
but assuming that's not the case... unironically I am TEMPTED to suggest NaN lmaooo
if for no other reason than NaN being where that comes up in common data types in the first place
but then ofc that, uh, also kinda makes it a pain in the ass to test the comparison result
@Seggan I think as long as you're doing numbers this is the most sensible answer--0 doesn't mean equal, it just means not greater or less than

complex infinity
22:32
I've settled for 0 as it's the most reasonable for my applications, just requires an extra equality check for those instances that want to differentiate between unorderable and equal
The most obvious use of compare is as an ordering function anyway
Is throwing an error out of the question?
would very much depend on context
@lyxal This is for a golf-lang, in which niche edgecases can be the difference between a handful of bytes.
0 then
23:09
@ATaco mm certainly 0
I know all about how edge case design can be the difference between a neat byte shave and a byte penalty for having to handle something explicitly :p

Apparently SIGBOVIK is at CMU???
whos that?
> SIGBOVIK is a yearly conference celebrating the inestimable research work of Harry Quernstone Bovik. Since his research has been so variegated, the conference is traditionally a forum for discussion on many subjects, including: Inept Expert Systems, Deep Space Navigation, Science, Perplexity Theory, Thaughmaturgic Circle, Self-Adjusting Computation, Denotational Semantics of Pidgin and Creole, Worm Causality, Dimorphic Computing, k-Armed Bandits, Regret ...
adds yet another entry to the 'why cmu is cool' list
Are you thinking about applying?
@rydwolf cool
