Q: Classify colored dodecahedrons

KarlEach of a regular dodecahedron's 12 faces can be painted either red or blue. Your task is to implement a function \$f\$ that takes a painted dodecahedron (as 12 booleans, in whatever order and format is convenient) and outputs an identifier (a string or number) to "classify" it. The exact classif...

Q: Decode the constant/variable

l4m2To save codepoints, a compute-er can share 0 and -, and share . with $(indicating a variable name). A number matches RegEx /^-?(0|[1-9]\d*)(\.\d+)?$/ and a variable matches RegEx /^\$\d+$/. Given input where 0 and - are represented as same char(your choice) and so do . and $, return as number or ...

@Ginger TW2 seems to be broken (not that I use it that often but still)
@Themoonisacheese what version are you using?
Because 1.11 seems to not be broken
Although I don't know if that's the latest
i use 1.11
oh i guess the button works it's just blank
Odd
Oh
It's not blank for me
firefox mobile moment
Sure is
Them adding tamper monkey as a usable extension is one of the best things they ever did
10:18
right next to ublock origin support
Them being the Firefox people for extending the set of allowed extensions
we stan firefox in this mf
Back in my day there was only a small number of trusted extensions you could use on ff mobile
back in my day you had to use the adblock root app to apply a patch to your system hosts file, not systemlessly and it killed OTAs
thank you chainfire for all your work on SuperSU but i'm so glad magisk came along
i'm like 90% sure i lost everyone following at "systemlessly" but tbh y'all should care more about android modding or something
android modding: it's like code golf but for your phone!
10:47
Speaking of phones, I need a new one but all the ones from this decade seem shit
11:04
Nothing Phone (2a) my beloved
(it's actually a great phone all told, i just doesn't have a headphone jack or wireless charging)
11:29
At least it's not american or chinese, so that's good
11:41
Is it normal for batteries to last only one day? My current phone used to last 3-5 days when it was new
Charging for an hour every day seems inconvenient

sergiolGet a random code golf question The purpose is simple: in your language of choice, get a random link of a question from the https://codegolf.stackexchange.com You can run something, make user click a button, etc. What matters is the output is a link of a question from the Code Golf site that has ...

@mousetail'he-him' modern android does charge control where if you leave the phone plugged in and have an alarm, it will only charge to 80% until 30 minutes before your alarm whereit will send it to 100%, so the battery doesn't degrade from float charging
but yes moderrn phones mostly last only a day, my phone (2a) which i bought earlier this year can last just about 2 days but i don't expect that to last long into its life
@Themoonisacheese yeah it does that sometimes
reload the page, it'll fix itself
it fixed itself without reload lol
13:45
@Themoonisacheese TIL
@Ginger it's technically part of the Vendor package so depending on the brand it can be disabled (or on Nothing phones, you have to enable it in settings), but the mechanisms to do it are in AOSP so the vendors only have to build an UI for it
and the UI is a single toggle lol
hm yes google calendar returning a 500
14:01
@mousetail'he-him' my new galaxy a15 lasts around 1.5 days at a normal (for me) use rate
my iphone 6 on the other hand...

@Ginger GPU Supersampling, maybe?
Actually surprised by how few use 4K
I assumed it was one of those stupidly wide monitors that FPS players use
first Google result for "comedically wide monitor"

Q: Find all unique quintuplets in an array that sum to a given target

CrSb0001 Problem Given an array nums of n (not necessarily distinct) integers, and given a target number target, return an array of all of the unique quintuplets [nums[a],nums[b],nums[c],nums[d],nums[e]] such that the following conditions are held: 0 <= a,b,c,d,e < n (or 1 <= a,b,c,d,e <= n if using 1-i...

@ATaco funny story I was also working on an answer to ^ and do you want it as a golfing suggestion? It's effectively the same approach but 10 bytes shorter
Sure, I was hurriedly picking from the github page
Ohh, I didn't know did that
Yeah, That's the same sort of solution, but I reckon you should just post it seperate an claim it
s5ḋU just works
22:30
👍 (to both)
s5ḋU does not seem to return the same number of results
Oh I see
Lmao
Lemme check this: If a Python answer doesn't specify whether it's Python 2 or Python 3, is it a polyglot for both the versions?
@ATaco ikr I was thinking "but how is that filtering by sum equality" and then I realised some assembly required :p
It's usually the newest Python 3 released at the time
Thanks!
22:38
I might Yolo out my Bouba-Kiki challenge
22:51
... i would not if i were you
popcons require ... a lot of consideration
i'd suggest having at least some validity criteria rather than just allowing any function from an image to a boolean - maybe having some small-to-medium set of obviously bouba/kiki training images that programs have to pass at least 80% of
23:10
ooh, yeah, that's a good idea
So that way it's harder to cheese upvotes with some magic formula that doesn't generalize at all but still Seems Cool™️ because it's short and works on one exact pair
I like the idea, but that would require me to grab a larger list of already bouba-kiki'd images
and the popcon gets to do its job of actually choosing whose approach to classifying feels more right
@ATaco I reckon that's part of the "research effort" mentioned in the question upvote tooltip ;)
Clearly the founding fathers intended age to be counted in "dog years" for dogs who seek the Presidency - show me anything that proves they did not. 35 dog years is only 5 human years. As for the oath, the dog becomes President, but doesn't "enter on the execution of his office" until taking the oath. I'm sure a sufficiently "doggy" Supreme court would accept "one woof for yes", or a paw print on a printed copy of the oath as sufficient, as otherwise would clearly violate the dog's civil rights. — James K 2 days ago

Apparently Bonobos also experience the Bouba Kiki effect
