I did try to do AoC 2023 but failed.

So I am doing AoC 2024 now.

I have one question:

Do I exactly have to follow what the puzzle says?

For example for puzzle #1...

Do I need to specifically in that order from most to least add them up.

Or can I just do it like... randomly?

Like in line order?

@192927376337929292283737373773 the puzzle only care that you get the right answer at the end. you could do it by hand if you really wanted, though obviously that would take too long given the amount of data that you're working with
