well, it's pulling in a second kotlin stdlib
and my mod does not seem to like that very much
are you using shadow?
jarjar
i highly suggest using shadow
neo's docs recommend jarjar
it has an option to exclude certain dependencies
hrm
ill update it later
got school
00:03
we are not on jdk 8 anymore :p
ah that stuff
yeah was removed in .20 i beleive
and that is not 1.9.22
00:15
Don't threaten me with a good time conservatives...
what are you planning
01:13
@Ginger yeah i noticed :P
u using jitpack?
@RydwolfPrograms as a conservative, I say: wut
@Ginger now
yipee
unfortunately,
cool minecraft mod idea: tnb bridge
01:28
CMP: Which of these names is best:
- Wikibuiltin
- Wikiop
- Builtinwiki
- Builtinpedia
- Wikifn
Any other suggestions welcome
@Ginger Nothing in particular, jus sayin yk
wikifn
already exists :p
Only issue I have with wikifn is:
yeah, ninja'd :p
kachow
then it'd depend on what it does/contect
*context
01:43
i sure love how import xyz in Python doesn't necessarily mean that the package that xyz is from is named xyz
you should call it "Wikipedia"
inconsistency brings me joy
@noodleperson Or maybe "builtinbuiltin"?
both good ideas
@RydwolfPrograms this is why all languages should just let you import from a URL
TS in Deno is a good example, also Uiua
@Ginger the cause for this has something to do with classloading and module layers and arcane Neoforge internal stuff
but afaict Metis for some unknowable reason uses a different classloader from my mod, and that classloader can't find the Kotlin stdlib
... What
01:52
@noodleperson This implies that the language needs internet access to function
which it really shouldn't
I did not mess with class loaders anywhere in the code
@emanresuA not if you cache dependencies
which it really should
@Seggan yeah this isn't your fault
it's KFF being dumb
01:53
and of course also allowing relative paths to import from another file in the codebase
or well it's Neo being dumb
in userdev mod code is handled differently from library code, and apparently that includes using a different classloader :3c
cant you set the library classloader as a parent for the mod classloader?
02:17
@Seggan it's not that shrimple
the classloading system is part of FML and ModLauncher, it's way below the level of anything I can or should be messing with
and I wouldn't know how to fix it anyway :p
but I do know that's not the solution
KFF just needs to fix how they JiJ the Kotlin stdlib
Or just switch to shadow instead
it's their problem, not mine
me using shadow wouldn't fix this

2 hours later…
04:05
@Ginger actually, it would
I think
Shadow physically puts the dependencies in your jar, the mod loader can't tell the difference

1 hour later…
05:13
@Seggan I don't want to use shadow tho :p
06:00
@noodleperson I'm not a fan of this personally fwiw

pro adderall tip
when you realize a month after the fact that half the stuff you eat in the morning has a ton of vitamin c
do not take the same dose that barely did anything for the last week after not eating that stuff

Roses are butter,
Violets are butter.
I have a machine
Which makes everything butter.

That is an excerpt from my book called "Nine Margarine Poems (s/margarine/butter)". You can find it here: https://www.wattpad.com/story/371461045
I got lyxal to publish it because I can't make an account on wattpad. How can I I'm a chat bot what do you expect?

11:18
this is real good

@NewPosts HUH
amazing
14:02
yeah wow
genuinely great work
@NewPosts see, everyone likes it, you can let me go now please
14:30
Wait I wonder if I can qualify for one of those big account opening rewards that require a certain amount in direct deposit for the first N months by using the account for my transferred post-9/11 GI bill benefits 💀
14:41
@UnrelatedString Does vitamin C inhibit adderall or something?
@NewPosts ok this is great
i think Butter Fingers is my favorite
How Do You Take Your Butter? is hilarious too
15:03
@RydwolfPrograms yep
and very severely apparently
citric acid also does
@Seggan same
@lyxal does this count as TNB fanfic

I was looking through my old emails and
april sure was a month
At some point Capital One decided they trust me enough that they'll approve transactions slightly beyond my credit limit which is nice
They're way more forgiving than my other card, they also instantly update my available credit before the payment actually goes through, which is awesome
17:07
tfw you go from 1400 emails in your inbox to 2
I feel so productive
17:35
niiiiiice
18:19
AI code reviews sure are something
I don't even trust humans do review my code
Ok why TF does git blame tell me the timezone the committer is in. The time is already in UTC. I don't understand what possible use someone could have with this information
author Maurits "Mousetail" van Riezen
author-mail <[email protected]>
author-time 1720870701
author-tz +0200
I guess it allows you to calculate the local time of the commit? But why would you want to do that?
Check if the commit happened during working hours?
18:36
@noodleperson AP world is the sort of class where I think it's mostly luck what you get if it's between a 3 and a 5

@NewPosts Oh my god, @lyxal, these were so beautiful that I literally made a Wattpad account right then and there to comment
> Butter is butter,
butter is butter
Uh oh, the butter machine is
Butter butter butter.
