00:40

@Bbrk24 mine does to "киса" ("kisa"), which the russian semi-diminutive form of cat :P
@UnrelatedString Wow, you guys are so good
My $PATH on my old computer was like 2kB
it was probably way way worse on my old computer
@RydwolfPrograms Okay, now I want to hear your take on economics, haha
00:57
@Bbrk24 ...wow
If you kick me in the groin I will kick you back
@Bbrk24 wut
I don't feel like booting it up to get the whole string but I know it included e.g. both /c/Windows and /c/WINDOWS
Also hi all! I'll disappear soon, but then at some point I'll hopefully be back
00:57
@AviFS 🥲
@Bbrk24 ...
@Adám That's hilarious. Unfortunately that holds true for all animals...
isnt windows case insensitive
@AviFS not for my mom and snakes
I like how it lists my actual birth year under "which year was Redwolf Programs founded" then calls it incorrect
pfffffffffffffffff
rydwolf does incident response?
00:58
@Seggan and then both /c/Windows/System32 and /c/Windows/SYSTEM32, etc. Uniquing it case-insensitive cut the length by 30 or 40%
If someone shows you pictures of their animals, just nod. And be nice of course. But pray for the moment it's over.
Am I evil?
yes
Simple remarks like "how cute" and "awwww" and "when did you get him/her" will do.
I'm very normal.
yeah i side with you lol
01:00
aww i cant do one with my name :(
And if you walk into someone's house and they all huddle around the pet, just leave.
Human conversation has paused.
like it's half honest when i comment on the photos and i don't especially mind it
@UnrelatedString Thank you, haha
@AviFS but so much this
@UnrelatedString Right? Thank you.
It's so painful, like wait we were talking about something. Hello? Where'd you go? Do I still exist? Am I crazy? What has happened. I think I'm dying.
Only over-exaggerating a little

Animals are great, of course
> This happens to women in the proximity of babies, which has led me to believe that babies' brains develop by absorbing the intelligence of women in their immediate surroundings.
@Seggan This is a brilliant insight.

...why does linkedin have a "unicorns" category?
probably either some kind of dummy category for testing, or an attempt at a joke
@emanresuA I got 6/6
but i feel like i've also heard some kind of phrase like "unicorn employee"...?
Oh, it's "Companies valued over 1 billion USD"
01:14
?????
"fibonacci sequence" and "look-and-say sequence" are both valid answers to "sequences starting with 1 and future terms generated from previous terms"
optimal putt
@emanresuA I read it as only the preceding term
that's what i was thinking too and in that case neither works
but fibonacci is closer to working
Wdym? Look-and-say is only dependent on the previous term
01:20
ohhh wait yeah you're right
i was thinking like a flattened version of it
which i guess would just kinda be broken at the very beginning
i wonder if a longer starting prefix could make a flattened/self-referential look and say work
an infinite run length encoding quine

a unicorn is a start-up that has grown out of the funding stage and is now very profitable, meaning its initial venture investors made absolute bank. it is by definition extremely rare, but that doesn't stop every startup from saying they're a unicorn to attract investors.
it's not a label you can realistically apply to a company until after it's too late for it to be anytrhing other than a descriptor of the past, otherwise you'd have a very sound investment strategy on your hands.

hey @RydwolfPrograms: turns out I have a third M.2 slot in PC
looking to get an SSD for my steam library, what's your advice :p
14:12
@Ginger what's your budget?
uhh
I would prefer to not pay more than, like, a hundred dollars

thanks :p
now that's my kind of slogan
@Ginger you can get 1TB SSDs for like $60
14:24
yeah, I'll probably get that third one
only need a terabyte or so
make sure to claim it
10% of that terabyte will be The Talos Principle 2, however
which is by far the largest game I own in terms of filesize
game is so good tho
what, ttp2? yeah it's fantastic
meanwhile me with 256 GB:
i really should upgrade i already ran out like 4 times
had to delete ksp 2 :/
14:26
not a huge loss tbh
fair but i still love both games
real sad it was all but killed
i got a 2TB HDD a few years ago and a 1TB SSD recently because i noticed my samsung 750 started losing capacity
the space is great i can just install stuff whenever
ksp2 could have been so great, shame all that happened
yeah it had so much potential
when 0.2 was released it gave me so much hope but then it ded
@RydwolfPrograms ^
14:36
@Ginger SN850X if it's PCIe 4.0
@RydwolfPrograms I like your funny words, magic man
it is in fact labeled PCIe 4.0
Make sure to get a splorg for the yorble animator too if your M.2 slot is type zalgo
:3c
But yeah the WD Black SN850X is the fastest PCIe 4.0 M.2 on the market, it's what I hace
14:55
(it's also ~ 45% more expensive)
@Seggan you're missing a t from your URL?
Adobe acrobat is the most cursed thing I've ever used
Oh lovely it just deleted a whole page of this PDF and gave me an error code
15:49
@emanresuA Fibonacci sequence technically starts with 0
@RydwolfPrograms it got hungry

@TheEmptyStringPhotographer It does not
It's defined as starting 1 1

isn’t it a matter of personal preference
@UnrelatedString imagine staying up until 3:00 when you can sleep from midnight to 3:30 then wake up with pericoronitis and eventually try to get back to sleep at 5:00 after the pain somehow subsided after a light meal just to be woken up at 6:00 by shoulder pain from having tried to alleviate the gum pain by lying face down
Jun 6 at 2:39, by hyper-neutrino
I only just realized bhlmst is 6 letters
any stack cdn image url ending in those six letters gets butchered by sechat
because those six letters can also be appended to the urls to scale/crop them
and for some reason sechat 1. is prepared for the embed image url to be preprocessed with one of those size suffixes, and wants to remove the suffixes for clicking through on the premise that the image might specifically be sized down to be chat-friendly, and 2. doesn’t actually know that the part of the url that identifies the image has a fixed length, unlike the servers actually serving the images from the urls
so stack cdn is totally prepared to generate a url ending in one of those letters and serves the image from it just fine
but sechat is confused
@Neil try clicking through this :P

@UnrelatedString this
I've seen any of 0-1, 1-1, or 1-2
The approach I take is to define the zero-indexed start of the sequence as 0 :p

clearly the sequence starts -1,1

Q: Lying Guess the Number game

BernaMarianoDescription Write a program that finds a target number by trying to guess it. Rules The program should respond each guess with "higher" if target number is bigger, "lower" if the target number is smaller, or end the game if it's correct; The catch is that there is a 25% (1 out of 4) chance that...

I'd like to point out that Binet's formula outputs 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5 for 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
@UnrelatedString Thought he wrote "SUNs" on the second panel and was kinda confused. It was actually "SUVs", I see now.
In this capitalistic world, economists are in charge of solving everything social.

looking at color swatches you bought online is so uncanny
you can see the color on your monitor and it looks so dark
Whose, mine? I didn't buy color swatches.
and then you actually get the card irl and it just turns into so many different minutely different shades of off white depending on where you’re standing
That's normal; that's what Pantone brought into consider anyway.
23:30
like i knew computer displays are inconsistent with color but i wasn't thinking that much'
