Several of the LotMs I liked the most were different from any language I had used before. But even then, they weren't entirely foreign: I had a basic understanding of Prolog before learning Brachylog; I understood about 60% of Jelly before learning BQN; and jq's pipelining is a bit reminiscent of PowerShell.
@noodleman Whereas I've never used TS types even for their intended use, so golfing with them just looks like complete magic to me ;)
Yeah, so it'll be a bit more challenging. The interesting thing about Brachylog is that because of the way the syntax works, it sometimes looks almost like a regular stack or tacit language--but it's really not, and thinking about it that way will trip you up sooner or later.

Comparing the number-of-answers and number-of-users, and using some semi-arbitrary cutoffs for what numbers are "good" or "bad," the languages that did the worst were Rust, ARM, and J-uby. The languages that were a hit were Japt, Husk, Vim, Vyxal, Red, Knight, and Prolog.
Languages averaging fewer than 2 answers per user: SMBF, K, Zsh, J-uby. Averaging more than 6 answers per user: Husk, Forth, tinylisp, Desmos, Knight, Prolog.
Perhaps you should rename yourself to mathscat if this is a maths olympiad and not a math olympiad. Then again, mathscat could be taken to be two 4-letter words concatenated together, not one 5-letter word and one 3-letter word :P
