nice
\o/
ya know what - I want to get 5k rep too!
I'll post this tomorrow, but in the meanwhile, feedback is appreciated.
19:28
@mathcat wait you have 5.8k
but that's global rep
20:13
Looks like I have 9.3k networkwide
Doesn't 10k networkwide give you something? Idr
You see chat flags
do you just see them or is there something else too
You can rule on them as valid vs invalid
oh ok
20:52
Which, for me, usually translates to 30 seconds of waffling over whether the message is flagworthy or not, followed by just closing the dialogue without deciding Yes or No. :P
:P
i usually just go with my gut without bothering to check context
which means like half the time i just do not sure
I almost always check the context since I'm paranoid about the possibility of someone intentionally taking a message out of context
i always check the context cuz often I end up dropping a message there regardless of the flag outcome :P
Anyone have any idea why a script I'm running in the console would slow down when I don't have that tab open?
browser might just throttle it
like intentionally, to save resources
Possibly yeah, although it isn't being hibernated afaict
21:46
@DLosc For me, it's always "is this immediately offensive?" If yes, valid, if no, then maybe I can be bothered to investigate/get context, but probably not :P
Tho, half of the flags seem to come out of the non-english language rooms, so I end up ignoring most of them :P
Also, if the flag is really valid, then the message probably isn't something I want to see, so I also don't bother investigating it and just close the dialog box :P

quick question - under what conditions is it possible for two separate git repositories to have an identical commit within them? they are not forks
including hash?
Maybe they've both transcluded (or whatever the term is) a 3rd repo into themselves.
hm - I'll see if i can find a third one then. the first commit on both repos is notably the same in fact i think they've only diverged recently
so it would make sense if the commit history from before the split was all from a third repo that both now share? idk how git works well enough for this
I was thinking that two independent repos both have one subdir pointing at a 3rd repo.
22:15
oh yeah i found a third repo with the same initial commit
@Adám maybe? I feel like the commit hashes for the outer repos then would be unique though - and also the first commit is just an upload readme
or sorry, not readme - the initial blank readme, gitignore, etc
22:28
Doesn't git let you just insert any commit you want from anywhere else?
I'm not sure why that would happen but I think you might be able to cherry pick a commit from another repo
Things I love: Installing things with curl, then having tar yell at me since all it downloads is <a href="https://dl.google.com/go/go1.18.3.linux-amd64.tar.gz">Found</a>.
22:57
@user Interestingly enough, this only happens when I have a different tab in the same window open, but if I'm in another window entirely, the script runs at its usual speed
23:21
makes sense
23:55
LYAL?
yah
what kang is it
