after I edited the version in package.json (and it shows the new version on npmjs.com), why does it say the package version doesn't exist when i try to npm install it, and it just uses an older version? it's been like 4 minutes already; is it still cached or smth?

@ophact when i posted the challenge, i thought it wouldve been solved using some variation of some already existing pathfinding alg, but ig thats not the case

the part about popping out of walls and wrapping around the grid caused me a problem

I originally thought I could just find a way to go left or right from the beginning, then repeat that the required number of times, then go up or down using the same method

but your last test case prevents me from doing so

@ophact ye, i constructed that test case with the specific goal of adding as many wrap-arounds as possible, while preventing every other possible path from working :P

I guess you could just repeat the same move multiple times in a row

but...

if going to the left from the right, row 3 ends up at left, row 1 surrounded by walls it will be a problem

One problem I'm having with Hunter-Gatherer is that the tools don't do enough

Shovels are only used for farming, axes are only used for cutting down trees and fences, and spears are only used for combat

I can probably remove the concept of farmland honestly, and just allow planting directly on grass

CMQ: How do I write a KoTH controller?

Well, for your first controller, I'd do something language-specific.

All you really need it to do is make it take a list of bots as classes or objects or whatever, and run a simulation, then print the score. A higher quality controller will print useful and highly configurable debug stuff so people can figure out how their bots are doing.

how does one get the raw body/data from a request in express

i've spent like half an hour just trying to figure out how to console.log the raw data; how could it possibly be this fucking hard

getting the json data is easy with bodyparser.json() but i can't seem to find the actual raw data
