12:32 PM
I did the google game on "Vyxal is the best golfing language"
and I managed to get "The best golf course in the world."
meaning it completely dropped the name "vyxal"
but at one point it managed to call it "Visalamdheel"
And for a second run, I gave it "I am Lyxal"
which it managed to turn into "Don't read me"

@lyxal lol

so I ask that you refrain for reading me

ok
question: how fast can you click

maybe

my best is 8.5 CPS (over 100 seconds), or 10-11 (over 10 seconds)

12:42 PM
I started with "Hello, I am Lyxal. I do code golf for a living" and ended up with "Yes Lisa spend money"
Along the way, I noticed it changed my username to:
Lixia
Lyxia
Lisha
Leisha

@lyxal the first/second ones look like they could be your alt account names
then it just dies

@StackMeterPlus 4 cps, at best 5 cps
i did fool my friend once by saying i was 23 cps by editing the HTML lol

@lyxal Do you do code golf for a living?
@cairdcoinheringaahing You seem to be a bit less active recently.

@ophact well I would if my github sponsors page got actual sponsorship

12:49 PM
i have started to hate font ligatures

@ophact I guess

\_(○_○)_/

"I am ophact" -> "I'm looking for an umbrella"

12:51 PM
@PyGamer0 that looks very weird

@lyxal ඩයල්ෆ්රොස්ට්
notice that first character

amogus

@lyxal How do you reply to your own message? It never works for me

copy the permalink
and remove everything before the #
then replace the # with a :

oh okay

12:53 PM
finally, write your message

@ophact or use dzaima's userscript

@ophact Hello ophact

no space

which i cannot find

Somehow "I am pygamer0" becomes "0:".

12:54 PM
@PyGamer0 lol

@lyxal 0:
@ophact thank you for giving me a great idea

Google Translate would first translate "pygamer0" to "pigamer0" in other languages, then I would put it through a bunch of languages with different alphabet systems, then back to English for it to give "0:"
@PyGamer0 What is that?

first let me upgrade npm

@lyxal interesting

how do i do that

12:56 PM
Oh no, npm
People say JavaScript is bad. But npm is the absolute worst
with its stupid errors

hey i gotta build my custom Iosevka

and I gotta go sleep
@lyxal o/

npm update -g npm
@lyxal o/

1:08 PM
@PyGamer0 no that doesnt work. npm install -g npm does but fails for me

@PyGamer0 do it

unfortunately grepq is someone on github already

3:57 PM
anyone got any idea what lexicalised pcfgs are?
I am supposed to know :)

Grammar theory to model symbol strings originated from work in computational linguistics aiming to understand the structure of natural languages. Probabilistic context free grammars (PCFGs) have been applied in probabilistic modeling of RNA structures almost 40 years after they were introduced in computational linguistics.PCFGs extend context-free grammars similar to how hidden Markov models extend regular grammars. Each production is assigned a probability. The probability of a derivation (parse) is the product of the probabilities of the productions used in that derivation. These probabilities...
and I think "lexicalised" means "uses a dictionary"?

4:13 PM
Help, I am in two meetings at once and my ears are dying!
Don't try it at home, kids.

Q: Ragged index of

AnttiPYour input is a ragged list of positive integers and a positive integer. Your task is to find that positive integer and return it's index, or if the positive integer doesn't exist, indicate it's nonexistence. How are indices in ragged lists defined? They are simply lists of indices that when used...

> Russian forces that have invaded Ukraine are “trying to seize” Chernobyl
Definitely an unusual military target lol

4:29 PM
Who's Chernobyl?
5

The Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the No. 4 reactor in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near the city of Pripyat in the north of the Ukrainian SSR in the Soviet Union. It is considered the worst nuclear disaster in history both in cost and casualties. It is one of only two nuclear energy accidents rated at seven—the maximum severity—on the International Nuclear Event Scale, the other being the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in Japan. The initial emergency response, together with later decontamination of the environment, involved more than...

Thoughts on my refinement of codegolf.meta.stackexchange.com/a/24520?

@pxeger I didn't understand the challenge fully
So the program must print x, xx, xxx, ...?
Separated by spaces?

No, it must output either x or xx or xxx or ..., at random
You're the second persons to not understand it; maybe it's not as simple and obvious as I thought

8:41 PM
it seems to make sense to me

maybe it's a language barrier for non-native speakers

output "x" a random number of times either [0, inf) or [1, inf) (answer's choice) with every possibility having non-zero chance (but obviously not being uniform)

@mathcat if there's something in particular you find confusing please tell me

something like while true if (coin toss) return else print x would work right?

yep

9:36 PM
Chose my classes for next year

"Exactly how this happens is difficult to explain without math" should be the subtitle of this site. — Doug Warren 28 mins ago
(Physics.SE)

AP English III, AP US History, AP Physics I, Multivariable Calculus, AP Research, AP European History, Engineering Science, and Computer Science III
With AP Biology as a backup if I don't get Engineering Science
It's gonna be a fun year :p
Every single one of those classes, except possibly Engineering Science, counts as AP for GPA purposes too, which should make up for the fact I'm too lazy to get high 90s

@DLosc CGSE motto: "Exactly why this happens is difficult to see but easy to understand"

Easy to understand? Not always...

CMC: Replace every instance of the first item in a list with a copy of the list, containing all changes so far

9:44 PM
@DLosc "Exactly why this happens is always difficult to see but sometimes easy to understand"

E.g., [1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1] -> [[1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1], 2, 3, [[1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1], 2, 3, 1, 2, 1], 2, [[1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1], 2, 3, [[1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1], 2, 3, 1, 2, 1], 2, 1]]
Or [1, 2, 1] -> [[1, 2, 1], 2, [[1, 2, 1], 2, 1]]

@RadvylfPrograms Python, 50 bytes (modifies the list in-place)

Q: Coordinates for a Heronian tetrahedron

Peter KageyDid you know that Heronian Tetrahedra Are Lattice Tetrahedra? A Heronian tetrahedron is a tetrahedron where the length of each edge is an integer, the area of each face is an integer, and the volume of the tetrahedron is an integer. It's always possible to place such a tetrahedron in space such...
