Not in Ash :p

I reckon Redwolf's got +198 rep for today :P

No, it's like -40 because I set a bounty last night :p

@RedwolfPrograms lol link to what he downvoted?

Q: Fastest square root of an arbitrary size

Redwolf ProgramsWe do seem to have a fastest square root challenge, but it's very restrictive. In this challenge, your program (or function) will be given an arbitrarily sized nonnegative integer, which is the square of an integer. Input: You may take input in any normally allowed way, including (but not limited...

What's annoying is now I'm not at a multiple of 10
(It's an awful challenge don't upvote)

@RedwolfPrograms You know the downvote swap we did earlier today/yesterday? I completely voided it by getting a net +200 rep :P

11:05 PM
@RedwolfPrograms im standing my ground

What constant would you replace, then?

If people can bear losing thousands of dollars holding gme, I can hold my downvote

Numbers wise, it's at the same level as Copy Editor (500 edits) or Marshall (500 flags), but "edit and answer within 12 hours, positive answer score" 500 times is insane

@RedwolfPrograms root 2

SQRT2 is useful, though
69 is very niche

11:07 PM
Look, vyxal has a 69 constant now
If I can do it, so can you

lol

@RedwolfPrograms @Lyxal A compromise: a 1 byte builtin for "E" (char code 69) and can be used for ascii-art challenges

That's the worst of both worlds :p
Still two bytes for 69, plus it's not that useful

Hmmm

@RedwolfPrograms The number of times I wish Jelly had a single byte builtin for a non-whitespace character is insane

11:09 PM
I'll think about it

@cairdcoinheringaahing I have "," at

@RedwolfPrograms E is better :P

I can't use because it's already being used for Euler's number, I guess I can replace 26 maybe
Although maybe the alphabet would be more useful

is there a builtin for integer partitions

@RedwolfPrograms You can use it for a decent base conversion function to store large numbers

11:14 PM
Okay fine, adding 69

@cairdcoinheringaahing In 12 years, only 120 people out of 15m users have ever gotten that badge on SO

@RedwolfPrograms goos
*good
For you cooperation, I'll give you 50 rep bounty

I'm pretty sure that all the ruckus around that challenge probably constitutes voter fraud in SE's books :P

That challenge has become a warzone :p
If it were a movie it would have an awful plot and likeable characters

No doubt the lead would be The Rock :P

11:36 PM
Man, the mod election should've happened 5 months after it did (i.e now) :P Just recalculated my candidate score and it went from 31 to 37 :P

bounty posted

(May be off if you got one of these badges since Sunday)

@RedwolfPrograms You could use a two byte builtin for something like Euler's number that isn't used that often
@cairdcoinheringaahing Mine is pitifully low :(

@cairdcoinheringaahing The scores for users with >80k: data.stackexchange.com/codegolf/query/edit/1372433

@cairdcoinheringaahing Interestingly, no one's at 40, although Martin Ender's very close at 39.

Q: Tips for golfing in JavaScript

mellamokbWhat general tips do you have for golfing in JavaScript? I'm looking for ideas that can be applied to code golf problems in general that are at least somewhat specific to JavaScript (e.g. "remove comments" is not an answer). Note: Also see Tips for Golfing in ECMAScript 6 and above

@user 40 requires Refiner, Steward and Marshal
I think Martin would've had 40 if he wasn't a pro-tem mod, as mods can't get Marshal

@cairdcoinheringaahing Are those the near-impossible ones?

@user They're the one's I'm missing :P

@cairdcoinheringaahing Good luck, then!

Refiner is difficult but doable (awarded 6 times), Steward is 1000 review tasks in a single queue and Marshal is 500 flags
@cairdcoinheringaahing The scores of all moderators
Unsurprisingly, the first pro-tem mods don't score high

11:58 PM
2... lol

@rak1507 dmckee never got to 3k :P
