Q: Number of \$n\$-carbon alkanes

alephalphaGiven a positive number \$n\$, find the number of alkanes with \$n\$ carbon atoms, ignoring stereoisomers; or equivalently, the number of unlabeled trees with \$n\$ notes, such that every note has degree \$\le 4\$. This is OEIS sequence A000602. See also: Paraffins - Rosetta Code Example For...

A: List of bounties with no deadline

BMO200 reputation for the true Alchemist I don't know a lot about chemistry (nor alchemy), however - having written Alchemist - I'd be impressed if someone manages to use it as an actual chemistry tool: If you manage to write a solution in Alchemist for the question Number of n-carbon alkanes, I'l...

hmm. anyone have any idea how a language where every expression has a type and an AST structure that can be retrieved through reflection would work?
i guess like lisp?

Q: Custom check digit algorithm

KatieYour challenge is to create a simple Check-Digit algorithm. Inputs: Dictionary - set of unique characters, for example "ABCDEF") Length - integer Input digit - this will be also an integer. Examples: Dictionary:"A", Length:2, Input->Output: 1->AA, 2->AA, 3->AA, ... Dictionary:"AB", Length:...

Any final thoughts before I post my matrix puzzle pieces challenge?

@AdmBorkBork Here's a larger, more complicated test case: will you also add the expected output for that one?
Sure. Just didn't want to make it too vertical, but I can do so.

@l4m2: I don't think we should hijack that challenge's comment section for proving TC of Alchemist ^^
Wasn't familiar with counter machines.. assumed that they'll need an infinite number of registers which wouldn't help with a proof.
Seems like set 1 only needs registers r and z which would make your proof valid.
(most likely it does, "counter machine comprises a set of one or more unbounded registers" and they don't use indices there)
My original idea was to use two counters simulating a stack and building on top of that stack, but I could never be bothered to think it through properly..
@BMO Lol, just checked the proof of TC for CM and it uses the same strategy

Q: Matrix Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces

AdmBorkBork(Randomly inspired by https://codegolf.meta.stackexchange.com/a/17272/42963) Given a rectangular matrix of digits (i.e., 0 - 9), output the "pieces" of the matrix as if the digits are connected together forming a single piece, in ascending order by the digits. The pieces are guaranteed to connec...

Q: Givean a Tetris matrix, list all pieces

Hubert MarkSay you have a simple tetris "game". Each piece have 1 single colour, and you read moves as: *Type *Rotation *Column of the first left piece's square inside matrix. Pieces fall till the end or untill they colide with another piece on the given column. For simplification, we agree that no ...

Q: Unix timestamp to datetime string

user209477Given a unix timestamp as an input, give a datetime string, in a format like so: "YYMMDD.HHmm" Rules The input is a number (integer) of a millisecond-precise unix epoch. The values must be padded with zeroes if they are 1 character instead of 2. (e.g.: for "DD", "1" is not acceptable, but "01"...

@NewMainPosts That has to be a dupe, surely we've had that challenge before
haven't found a dupe so far though

Yeah, I've looked, too.

Guys, i have a question
How SQL answers should be made? how do i need to pass a parameter? declaring it at the top? does those bytes count then?
@LuisfelipeDejesusMunoz Input is considered to be from a table with a hardcoded name
Also TIO has SQLite
@Pavel Do you know where that's specified? I just checked the Default I/O thread and don't see it

A: Default for Code Golf: Input/Output methods

jimmy23013SQLs may take input from a named table which is probably not good enough. But I don't know a better way.

Weird ... I went through each page with a ctrl-f and didn't find it. Oh well. Thanks!

SebastianMy Number is Bigger Than Yours: KoTH The concept of this game is simple; each turn, two bots submit a positive integer (in Python, so no upper bound on its size).
