8:07 PM
@Riker I don't think so, but I don't really know a lot about Julia.

8:28 PM
for those that have used the SE Oauth API: Is it really over stackoverflow.com?
I want to authenticate a codegolf user, but it's telling me to hit stackoverflow.com

the whole authentication system of SE is fucked up
they've been an OpenID provider for a while, now it's oauth I guess
I'd say go with it

aren't they killing off OpenID support?

actually, OpenID is to be removed in July

and is already in the process of being phased out on some sites

oauth has been around for a while

8:37 PM
@NathanMerrill You can ask the PPCGv2 people, I think they have this SE Auth thing figured out

oooh, good idea

@DJMcMayhem busy
like that is why not gonna stay most likey

The average SO user visits 7 times a month
That sounds extremely low
I visit more often than that per day

Wow
Had great idea (dibs)
Website where every pixle is 10 cents (buy 10x10 area) but u can buy already owned blocks for 2x the rate or somthing\

And why exactly would people be interested in buying pixels?

8:50 PM
something like that did exist some time ago, but it eventually died
(million pixels)

@DJMcMayhem the block would link to ur website
basically an ad

Or. When someone buys the pixel from you, you get part of the money for it.
Like a pyramid scheme.

ohh
that is genus
u get 1/2

@Pavel where are you getting this statistic

5 mins ago, by Pavel
https://stackoverflow.com/company

8:53 PM
@Pavel imma code this, if i get rich ill ping

@Christopher It's definitely illegal though
Proof that Bing is superior to Google (/s): If I search for Dota team liquid or some other team in Bing, it'll give me a live-updating set of information about their current game if they're playing one

@Pavel no
it is just like an EA game
u give me money and I screw u over

Except if you actually do what I just said, it's a pyramid scheme, which is illegal.

well sure
it is legal
illegal only if it is a scam

Isn't it

8:59 PM
no
u get ur pixles

If it's a pyramid scheme, then it is a scam

Shhh
My idea was legit
pavel wants me to scam people (@FBI i know his schools location hook me up and ill confess)

Can we move that entire conversation to Trash? It contributed absolutely zero, and just seems disruptive.

I was talking about a project idea i had
And disruptive is false because no other conversations were going on at the time. And as DJ didn't move it when he last talked I think it is fine

@Christopher You have time for a game of DotA in like an hour?

9:05 PM
@Pavel School night m8 :()
but put me as a maybe

I don't really have any homework for tomorrow
K then
@ConorO'Brien Please look at pr: github.com/ConorOBrien-Foxx/Attache/pull/39

@Pavel how about in 2 hours and we get the luca

Sure

K i have to meme (english project)

I dread to think what you guys learn in English if it involves memes :P

9:20 PM
uhh
It is a 20 time project
Mine about dota
@DJMcMayhem changed the bounty to 400 for a quine and 20*50 rep for any Pain-Flak answer
so if anyone wants rep just answer crap in pain-flak and ping me
must not have a pain-flak answer on that question (otherwise can't do 50 rep have to do 100)

@DJMcMayhem What does the "quote" at the end of your profile mean? Is it a reference to something?

XKCD iirc
wait nvm

@Christopher It references Jon Skeet and SE, I doubt it :P

yeah XKCD

@Christopher How does pain-flak take input?

Oh, args duh

lol
I mean u wrote like the 90% of it
@DJMcMayhem you are going to take all my rep aren't you :P
Also when I run out of rep can u make sure to give me chat privs back?
I will prolly enjoy starting with 1 rep again but having to earn my chat back :P

@Christopher He needs it to keep his privileges when the requirements change. Wait...

@Christopher No

A: Add two numbers

DJMcMayhemPain-Flak, 6 bytes )}{}{( Try it online! Pain-Flak is Brain-Flaks evil twin. When translated into regular brain-flak, we get: ({}{})({}{}) The first one is the standard addition snippet. The second one is effectively a NO-OP.

screw you :P

9:25 PM
@cairdcoinheringaahing Hehe

Does anyone else have the Team Spirit userscript?

Wheat Wizard does I think
The old version with the colors filling the entire screen

I think DJ does, but I'm not sure

I used to

Does it have any purpose? I get that the stars show what team you're on (even/odd user id), but I don't know what the ?/? or the half-red, half-blue line near the chat input box is for?

9:29 PM
IIRC it's a sort of competition for which team has more stars on the starboard?

Basically, yeah
I don't even remember which team I was on. I think I was blue?

Red
All the mods except Mego are red :P
Ah, my screen looks much better without a bunch of stars scattered around. I see why people disliked it

@cairdcoinheringaahing on my phone all the diamonds render as an obnoxious red

> last message: 1s ago
Proof DJ is a chat ninja :P

wait, we get separate about sections for chat?
how is this the first time I've seen "about (edit)"

9:43 PM
> 31 per day
I'm not sure if that means I use chat too much
> 184 per day
Actually, in light of that, I think I'm fine :P

> 7 per day
I guess I'm not addicted to chat
it pains me to vote to close the latest NMP as belonging on SO, but...
I think I might get closed over there too

Q: Combine two printfs into one

aleeN1I want to combine 2 printfs that have a different structure. One has only text printf("Jocul s-a incheiat. Egalitate\n"); and the other one has some integers as parameters + text: printf("A castigat jucatorul "%d cu %d lovituri\n", q, r). The text is in romanian, but as you can see there is a com...

I wish the "This is better on SO" close reason included something like "You may be able to get help on Stack Overflow, but be sure to read their rules about [asking questions](link) before doing so"

I want to comment, but I'm not sure what to say
looking past the most upfront issues, it's not quite a valid challenge, and not quite a good question for SO either
how would a challenge along the lines of "combine these two printf statements into one with the shortest code possible" go over?

10:07 PM

@xnor Is it golfier than the shortest on PPCG? :o

@totallyhuman hard to say, our fibonacci challenges have been flexible so I don't think there's been one that required printing a list

@Dennis hm, ok

Oh, I should've checked the problem statement first. :P

wait, since when has codegolf.io existed

10:11 PM
apparently for a few months, i just found out yesterday

@xnor It's a shame that they only allow a few languages
This user is very prolific on codegolf.io

@xnor That's impressive that you beat the record in one day. Was it a simple modification of an existing answer (on PPCG or elsewhere)?

since it doesn't seem to have rep, I think ais would like that

@ETHproductions I imagine a lot of people wrote the same 38-byte python answer, and I thought at first there's really nothing to possibly improve, but then I tried some stuff and it worked

Damn, I got the 38-byter too.

10:15 PM
anarchy golf experience though tells me that once golfers know there's a byte save, many of them find it

Hah, within 5 minutes of trying Divisors in JS I'm within a byte of the record, putting me in 4th
not sure where the last byte will come from though...

Q: Add two numbers

MendeleevInput: Two integers. Preferably decimal integers, but other forms of numbers can be used. These can be given to the code in standard input, as arguments to the program or function, or as a list. Output: Their sum. Use the same format for output integers as input integers. For example, the input ...

@ETHproductions See if you can beat me on prime numbers :)

@H.PWiz Working on Emirps right now because it was the next one in line, but Primes might be a better place to start ;)

Emirps? nvm

10:31 PM
@H.PWiz First shot is 51 using a recursive function, what's your score?

39

H0tSauce or jakobwitte?

The former

There's 47 46

@NewlyFeaturedQuestions Is it possible to change bounty messages?

10:36 PM
Golfing tip of the day: you don't need to explicitly check whether 100 is prime :P
@H.PWiz Nope... stuck at 45 for the moment
I seem to recall some folks having a discussion about this a while back, maybe I can find it >:)

No problem, I still can't figure out how to reverse a number in JS

[...n+""].reverse().join``
Either that or a recursive function

that looks good

R=n=>n?n%10+R(n/10|0):""
two bytes shorter, but costs more to invoke if you already have the n

83 bytes on Emirps, without golfing (fully)

11:06 PM
whoops, accidentally wrote a program that finds palindrome primes
ugh, finally got it at 100 bytes

fyi code-golf.io counts UTF-8 characters as one character which lets you do some crazy stuff

thanks, that may be useful on FizzBuzz, and other challenges that require long enough code
I'm part of a JS golfing group that found a way to compress any JS longer than 144 chars, so that should be interesting

11:43 PM
I'm sorry, not FizzBuzz, 99 Bottles of Beer... what was I thinking
