@EriktheOutgolfer No, not explorer itself. Just tried it this morning.
@EriktheOutgolfer And how do you ungameify an application?

@Adám you switch to linux that simple
ok...so I wrote a mail to SE team about rate limiting...

@Adám in Xbox app

@EriktheOutgolfer rate limiting? What's that

@KeyuGan ???

@Mr.Xcoder when you are blocked out of stack exchange for doing an "unusually high number of requests"

10:03 AM
@EriktheOutgolfer TIL

@Mr.Xcoder it's when the rate of something is limited

@Adám well i mean there is a option of what programs are considered games in Win10's builtin Xbox app.

@Mayube ಠ_ಠ, I asked what's that on SE

it's happening too much for me something should be done about it I'm totally human as i said yesterday come on!

@KeyuGan Where/how to I get to it?

10:04 AM
@Mr.Xcoder You didn't, actually
@EriktheOutgolfer but can you prove it?

well if sending a mail with words of mine isn't proof I don't know what is

@Adám If you are running Win10 creator update, the option should be in Settings / Gaming / Game Bar
Options in lower version of win10 is buried in Xbox App (just to correct)

@KeyuGan I have creators update :-( but I don't see anything relevant under Settings / Gaming / Game Bar.

You want to disable a certain program? Sorry, I misunderstood... ;-( you may see this superuser.com/questions/1086248/…
just uncheck Remember this as a game in Win+G

@KeyuGan Thanks. Works, but jarring.
Normally, clicking unchecking a checkbox does not close the dialog/app.
MS have totally mangled their UI language.

btw if you want to do that in a programming way. Visit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore\Children

@Adám Dyalog Windows when?

@Mayube Wait, what?

When are we getting a Dyalog OS? ;)

@Mayube Oh, APL used to be an OS, at least as much as Win95-Me were. Maybe we are waiting for kOS…

Yeah when are we getting a modern Dyalog OS
like, a viable contender for Windows, or at least linux

10:16 AM
@Mayube :-) But kOS is actually a thing. K running on the bare metal!

OEIS chain is currently borked. Scott Milner's chosen a really interesting next sequence.

@Adám holy crap

@LuisMendo Exerpt of the challenge: "Indeed "HC0" ⊗ "HC0" = "pub" as you can verify with a solution from the other challenge here." and I linked here to your answer :)

@Mayube that would be really cool

10:28 AM
@Cowsquack read the link Adam posted

but K isn't APL

knowing K it'd probably be like 50 lines to make an APL interpreter in it though

haha

@Mayube Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

Dyalog KPL :D

10:36 AM
@Mayube A PPCG member, one of our former employees, left to persue K after having implemented his own (Dyalog compatible) APL.

@Adám o_o
umm, there's nothing in there

ok so my language is called verbosely, what should the file extension be? My first thought was vb but.. visual basic is unfortunately still a thing
vrb
maybe?

@EriktheOutgolfer I know, he took it offline. I speculate that he got in trouble with kx, or that the commercial prospects of this makes it open source a bad idea. Notice how almost all the commercial programming languages out there are APL derivatives or at least mathematical in nature.

@Adám don't forget about Kona

we were talking about ngn's
@Adám maybe they are all commercial because apl is commercial too...?
like, they're ripping off apl come on guys be original!

10:47 AM
@Mayube .verbose

I suppose having a verbose file extension would make sense

@Mayube Yes, like literally.

maybe verboselyscript just to be really annoying

Dyalog scripted objects use .dyalog

I'll support vrb, verbose and verbosely, but have verbose be the convention

10:49 AM

every single time
I have to google how to open a file in node
and then right after have to google how to do it synchronously
one of those things I guess

11:00 AM
@programmer5000 Please stick to the chat sandbox for experimenting

@trichoplax where is that?

@BruceForte Heh, I knew I was reading too fast :-)

@Adám Please refrain from starbait

@Mego Can you move all these messages to the sandbox?

Anonymous
11:15 AM
@Adám Sure thing

Anonymous
14 messages moved to Sandbox

morning TH

Me bounty has been ignored ;-;

@Adám I guess Mego's move answers your question to save me looking up the link...

11:27 AM
@trichoplax Yes, I had that in mind. Won't help much when I'll need it next time though. So how would you look it up?

@Adám You can bookmark/favourite/whatever your browser calls it if you think you're likely to need it again. If you unexpectedly find you need it, you can search for sandbox in the list of all rooms, by following the orange link at the top right of this page (ensuring that the "all" tab is selected as sometimes clicking on "all rooms" actually defaults to just site rooms)

@trichoplax Thanks.

It's also room #1 on chat.SE, which is pretty easy to remember

By the way, the fake stars thing has been overdone, starting years ago:

on macOS seq -s+ 5 gives 1+2+3+4+5+ (+ is supposed to separate the numbers). WHY IN THE WORLD is there a trailing + (yet this works perfectly without the trailing + on TIO)

Q: Invisible Writting

that ⍕# trick is really clever

@Cowsquack And dirty.

tfw you translate tio to greek and then there's a language called "Κτυπώ δυνατά"...ok why is there a language called "I hit hardly"? oh wait it's Bash lol

12:30 PM
@EriktheOutgolfer pretty sure that's hardly how you use "hardly"

@LeakyNun whatever google translate to greek sucks a lot

@EriktheOutgolfer I'm not talking about google translate

well, "δυνατά" means "powerfully" but I'm not sure if "I hit powerfully" makes much sense

@LeakyNun can we output with a trailing newline? And can we use any other character than #?

12:32 PM
@Cowsquack yes and yes

Röda, 24 bytes, Try it online!

@LeakyNun can I use inconsistent chars?
in Jelly Hypertraining, 43 mins ago, by Mr. Xcoder
(The character used must be non-whitespace, but can be inconsistent)

@EriktheOutgolfer yes

I get a verbose 47 bytes in bash

Okx

I'm so happy that Primitive Pythagorean Triples has been well-received. There are so many different approaches in the answers, it's really cool.

@AdmBorkBork that means diversity => originality
@Okx Jelly, 6 bytes: “>ẏż©’

Okx
ya'll way too long

12:42 PM
Some guess-and-check, some use a Euclid approach, some have a built-in, some find other OEIS sequences that provide a partial solution and then work through that ...

@Okx neim has builtin right?

It's really amazing how smart and diverse this community is.
15

Okx
not a builtin
but note that 100000000 is 100 squared twice

of course there's a 4-byte jelly solution too
oh wait ȷ9+7¤ is shorter than “>ẏż©’
unless it needs leading space

@EriktheOutgolfer ȷ9Æn¤ :p
this is the intent of the challenge

12:47 PM
@LeakyNun hmm...still same length as ȷ9+7¤

Why is the number 10^n+7 used a lot

@SIGSEGV 10^9+7 is a prime
I don't know if other 10^n+7 is used

@LeakyNun Oh. That makes good sense.

@LeakyNun what number prime is it?
do you know off the top of your head

@StepHen what?

12:48 PM
what is its index in the primes

@StepHen I wouldn't be surprised :P

oh, what number prime means... something missing in the English language

@LeakyNun yeah sorry I worded that wrong

there's a reason jelly doesn't have "prime index" builtin

@StepHen it's not your fault; it's the fault of the English language

12:50 PM
Is the invisible text challenge even possible? Especially on windows?

@EriktheOutgolfer except it does
@TheLethalCoder the solution there worked for me (and I'm using Windows)

@LeakyNun ok why are the docs camouflaging that?

._. Why am I using jelly as a calculator

ಠ_ಠ

@SIGSEGV because it's short
(although I would use Pyth for that purpose since Pyth is printable)

12:52 PM
@TheLethalCoder You can use a whopping 16 colors in the PowerShell console.

@EriktheOutgolfer ask @Dennis

and yeah the index is actually 50847535...not very impressive right?

@LeakyNun The Javascript one? That's browser dependant though not OS

Thanks @LeakyNun @EriktheOutgolfer, although I doubt my interpreter's going to work up to then

@LeakyNun or just remember a load of keywords to search for so that you find out an ever larger load of builtins or something...

12:53 PM
I need to implement a sieve badly

@StepHen I can help you with that

@EriktheOutgolfer well I do that

@LeakyNun I'll get back to you when I get time, if you're still available :) thanks

@EriktheOutgolfer (1e9+7)/ln(1e9+7) = 48254943 (Prime Number Theorem)

seems like this was made for jelly

@Cowsquack [] means inclusive.

yeah it's really biased imo

@Okx I didn't make that for Jelly

12:56 PM
well jelly 05ab1e and brachylog have some unexpected builtins

@EriktheOutgolfer well not really
I mean, Jelly doesn't have specifically a built-in for this exact challenge

@LeakyNun Bash, 43 bytes, Try it online!
I need help in golfing this down

@LeakyNun who said specifically?

Why'd you pick bash all of a sudden?

@Cowsquack Nice too see a bash one

@BetaDecay Most of the answers are invalid so I assume it must have been unclear

We are adding libraries to execute Python from within APL and APL from within Python. What should we call these tools?
