@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC "Average millionaires", lol
@mbomb007 "Average"
why do I have a jpop song playing on repeat? the world my never know
lol ... Slack doesn't know the word "validator" and wants to change it "lavatorial."
Out of all the applications that I would expect to know the word "validator," Slack ranks pretty high up on that list.

Q: An Array of Challenges #2: Separate a Nested Array

Flp.TkcNote: This is #2 in a series of array-manipulation challenges. For the previous challenge, click here. Separating Nested Lists To separate values in a nested list, flatten it, and then wrap each value so it is at the same nested depth as before. That is to say, this list: [1, [2, 3], [4,...

Thanks @TimmyD for fixing my shameful spelling there
@mbomb007 I meant from now on, because we now have 20+ hats
And I did it before NMP picked it up, so it's not preserved in the transcript. :D
"You dare use camel case notation? You must use underscores" lmao @TuxCopter
21:26
@TimmyD Probably a lot of work to think of words to add to the dictionary though...
> If only you knew the Power(shell) of the Dark Side!
@El'endiaStarman Sure, true. But Slack got its start as a collaboration and IM tool for developers and programmers. It's not quite to the level of a automotive-related app not knowing how to spell Chevrolet, but it's pretty up there.
@TimmyD um it's spelled "valedictorian", duh
@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC cheddar
@quartata cmd not found
21:33
It has a lot of dependencies because JS's standard library is the size of a peanut
@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC How did you install it
@betseg Turkey best! #1 democracy! WOO!!1! </s> Is it banned legally or banned through technological means?
bash <(curl -fsSL cheddar.vihan.org/i/nix/cheddar)
Just do npm install cheddar-lang
> Installation appears to be successful!
@TuxCopter it's not a bug, it's a feature
21:35
@ETHproductions Where do we see site rankings?
JS is a bug.
"Fixes #235; removes JS"
Still better than PHP

TIL 2/3 of the american population has no constitutional rights (aclu.org/other/constitution-100-mile-border-zone)
Politics don't belong here.
@quartata npm INFO China; don't care about the contents, nuking ?
Clinton ran against George Washington... George Clinton, in 1787.

CMP: What's everyone's favorite magic constant used in code? For me, it's the fast inverse square root method.
21:44
Me too
> The United States of America (USA), commonly referred to as the Those Darn Colonies of America
@TimmyD 7. It's a cool constant cause if you ever want to set a variable to 7, you could just do var = 7 and it magically works.
@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC run cheddar in console
~
❯ cheddar
zsh: command not found: cheddar

I have no idea how you installed then

@Downgoat twice, once through bash, once through npm install
Simplest way is npm i -g cheddar-lang
script is really only for if you don't have nodejs installed
@TuxCopter PPCG design in nutshell
npm ERR! File exists: /usr/local/bin/cheddar❯ cat /usr/lobal/bin/cheddar
cat: /usr/lobal/bin/cheddar: No such file or directory
@Downgoat
lol
You misspelled local
21:51
> lobal
:/
@Downgoat I cd'ed into it and tried too
seriously you people don't use tab complete
Can confirm -- attempting to install Cheddar results in hoof-typing syndrome.
/usr/local/bin
❯ cat cheddar
cat: cheddar: No such file or directory
Do a rm -r /usr/local/bin/cheddar
21:52
@quartata I do
@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC O_o
@Downgoat ok.... exit code 0, success apparently
Ok do find -name bin -type d -delete if that don't work :P
Oh nvm
I mean they could be developing Rhino

Node runs on V8
@TuxCopter This pains me.

@TuxCopter foreach(array($longo_list) as $item) { $data[$item] = $data[$item] ?? 0;}
Anyway there are 5 problems with the thing:
1) It's written in PHP
2) It's written in PHP
3) It's written in PHP
4) It's written in PHP
5) The array is empty why is it checking if the elements are in it
@TuxCopter php allows for cross-dimensional script execution. just because it's not set in this dimension doesn't mean there isn't fairy code written in the 73rd dimension where data gets sent into that array.
hi I might be working on my koth some more
22:09
oh good I'm golfing my COW code in my head

@Downgoat you want me to delete all my bin ??

@xnor apparently, it's not just impossible to form an X*Y circuit, it's impossible to even approximate one (using only resistors).

Q: Why doesn't Stack Overflow awards points on just answering questions?

HeroFTimeStack Overflow awards reputation when there is an upvote on your answer or if it is chosen as a best answer, but it doesn't award reputation just for answering. I think there needs to be a reward (even if it is only 2 points) for answering questions. This will motivate the others to answer the ...

The answers are pure gold
@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC a really bad bridge
A user just asked if they can assume a maximum depth on this challenge. What do you guys think?
I'm inclined to say the maximum depth will be 10, as it's more about the algorithm/method you use rather than your language's constraints
A mouse fell of the light fixture during an UTC meeting
23:18
@noɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC no that why I suffix :P :P
@TuxCopter no. NodeSource runs on v8

I modified my clock again and my computer re-borked, but 2046!
someone make a new golfing language and pretend it's been on github since 2010
2010? Meh. Make it exists since 1970
And make the README an EBCDIC-encoded .txt
Nah screw that, make it exist since 2018 and say it's the hip new GolfLang.
2018? Meh. 2040 ftw
Even if it would not be usable competitively before 2040 :P
hi guys here's an obscure programming language that's totally existed since 1837 and only compiled on an abacus
23:31
@GabrielBenamy umm, where?
the only user guide in existence is printed on human skin and bound with baby hair
so of course, I can't link you to an online resource, but I totally have a copy with me
It's totally a satanist esolang
For some reason I want to make an esolang coded in COBOL with files encoded in EBCDIC and make think GH it's here since 1980
'night
new esolang idea: SatanScript. the entire script must be written as a gregorian chant and use demon names as variables
@GabrielBenamy i had a simpler idea for satanscript
