@TonHospel do you ever golf your work code?

I think I'd only ever golf my code if: 1. I didn't want anybody to edit it ever, or 2. I wanted a new job

Si lencia

@NathanMerrill or 3. if your job is obfuscation :P

I'd never take such a job
because surely you're getting paid for something unethical

really? I'd jump at the chance :P
well
hm :/

11:21 PM
Obfuscation usually involves making things longer.

then what better obfuscation than making it shorter?

The GitHub default avatar aglorithm I love
it generates a unique and beautiful avatar you can be proud of

off-by-one error?

Q: How DO i Contact Facebook Customer Service?

user60000Facebook is my life. Facebook is the only way to stay in touch with my kids and entire family.For me Facebook is the only way to survive. I found lots of numbers online but all not reachable or hung up on me because I cannot hear and speak well. I saw lot of star contributors helping others but I...

Hahaha

@DJMcMayhem I'm not even sure why they need to contact facebook

The same reason people pray: "they are like God messengers for me"
2

@NathanMerrill because Facebook is their life
Why else?

@Geobits they are star messengers
the same ones starring your messages

11:40 PM
@DJMcMayhem Meta-challenge: work this into an actual code golf question

Q: production software with golfed code

danielrI'm just wondering if there are any known production software in use where the source code is in some golfed format. By "in use", I mean that it's fairly popular (not sure where to draw the line on "popular"). Yes, I know that it's not a good idea, and the software would be a nightmare to mainta...

I was just thinking of how to do that >_>

@NewMainPosts Two bad ones in a row >_< you need to start bringing home a different brand of bacon

the second one isn't as bad. at least its thematically correct

that's true

11:43 PM
My machine doesn't have any high-level programming language

Aww, they removed the God messenger bit and the phone numbers :/

Not even assembly >_<
Let's try replacing my keyboard with 1 and 0

Is your computer an abacus?

@Geobits with ppcg chat

Nice abacus you got there.

11:44 PM
Machine code works though

who wants to undelete it, the owner?

@Geobits some bits are in an undefined state (like on an abacus)

Why on earth is there an undelete vote

Some bits of this chat? Not very surprising.

@ConorO'Brien They couldn't vote to undelete

11:45 PM
:/

IF answer == 10 GOTO 1

10 is worst?
Ah okay, thanks, I'll post again on meta.codegolf and mark this for deletion. Unless there is a way to transfer it? — danielr 1 min ago
there is right?

A: Do we still have a case against the goto statement?

GrandmasterBGoto's are not the problem. They never were. The problem is programmers who use goto's in such a way that it makes code extremely difficult to follow, and possibly places code into an indeterminate state (remember, not every language will be as strict as C++ is). Goto's are just the gun - but ...

Goto is evil like a triangle-head screwdriver is evil. There aren't many places you should actually use it in most cases, but when you need it, it sucks to not have it.

11:51 PM
I consider goto like I consider for and while: I'd rather do functional programming

a case : This is the secret Illuminati message.
As switch-case is simply a disguised form of goto.

@NathanMerrill 10/10
What's y'alls favorite functional language, if any?

Erlang

> Notice the introduction of decimals (floating point numbers) without any explanation. Hopefully you can cope with that.
