A: Prime factor game cheating aid

QuillStyle guide You should code your Python to follow PEP (Python Enhancement Proposal) documents, and in particular, PEP8. PEP8 Comparing your code to PEP8's standards shows quite a few violations. You should have whitespace between your binary operators. factors=[] number=int(n) Two b...

Blasphemey. Avodad should exist.
@GamrCorps THANK YOU AZTEC FOR ACOVADO
03:29
praise acvoadad
> acvoadad
@Quill "if not None" should be "is not None"
Oh, hello there @gnibbler
heya
x=(filter(None, numbers) or []) + [2] is shorter
and more DRY
03:35
Mar 22 at 1:51, by Alex A.
@PinCrash People talk about the DRY principle... Well this guy is sopping wet.
@Quill Also, in filter(None, numbers) != None the != None isn't really needed
Does filter even return None?
@Sp3000 No
Yes
If it's [None], [None, None] etc
Hmm
My bad
It'd still give an empty list, right?
03:39
No
It gives None
>>> filter(None, [None, None])
[]
Um
My bad
Also, filter(int) and filter(None) removes falsy values
So 0s disappear
filter(function or None, sequence) -> list, tuple, or string
never returns None
But it can be assumed that numbers never contains 0, right?
tbh, code-review wise filter(None,...) probably isn't the best choice there anyway :P
03:44
return sorted([x for x in numbers if x] + [2])
works for python3 too
@Sp3000 filter(int) then?
That's better, but I'd probably go with what gnibbler has there
I got a jury duty summons yesterday.
Did I mention it already?
I probably did.
Nevermind. For some reason, I thought that happened some time ago.
yes you did
03:50
And probably said "yesterday" both times, b/c rounding,
I think numbers sans the 0's is always sorted, so return [2] + [x for x in numbers if x] should be fine
I always forget who I mention stuff too, nevermind then.
I only know jury duty from movies.
@PhiNotPi, are you trying to be relieved due to insanity?
on the bright side now you really can't get away with skipping it
03:53
I mailed back their form with the "please excuse me I'm a student" box checked.
I thought that only postpones it
It does.
So, I assume sometime over the summer I'll get another letter, and then I'll show up to probably be dismissed.
@AlexA. Since codingground's is broken, I decided to make this. julia.tryitonline.net

@Dennis WAT
this is great site thanks you for making
(ಠ ͜ ಠ)
#1 reason to own a domain right there
2
(ಠ{^}ಠ)
@Dennis OK I fell for that one. I blame being on mobile
You shouldn't. It's a 302.
There's really no way to prevent those type, right?
04:10
there is: just close the tab before the video loads
Or just dont trust links from Dennis in the first place
At least today... :P
@PhiNotPi There are browser extensions, but it's probably not worth it.
@PhiNotPi you can get scripts that analyse the html
04:12
You should add a Julia link to the TIO homepage.
P.S. I think you need a better homepage
Any specific suggestions?
Rick
> During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred:
What, am I not supposed to raise exceptions in an except? Pfft.
I wonder if there's a sudden spike in views of Rick on April Fools Day
Probably.
Views of Rick: The NinjaBearMonkey Story
04:18
@NinjaBearMonkey There is; I think I saw a graph or something once
@NinjaBearMonkey ಠ_ಠ I fell for that one.
I guess my training isn't quite complete yet.
Or, actually, I'm slowly adding users to a blacklist.

Anyone want to help dig out a slime chunk?
(Sorry but I could still use help)
I would if it wasnt so late
That sounds unpleasant, but partially because I don't know what it means
04:22
It pretty much mining out a good 13,000 blocks of your minecraft world as fast as possible
more like 8960
I'm going to ask a really stupid question which I just need someone to humor me and answer: how does html work? Like java runs on a virtual machine, C is a compiled language to assembely, assembely just works, javascript is interpreted or whatever. What "compiles" html or how does it work?
Your browser renders it
Okay, but does it not compile?
04:23
HTML is a content language, not an..."action" language.
Meaning?
The browser just knows how to read it?
HTML doesn't really tell the computer what to do so much as it tells the computer what it is.
It doesn't do anything, it only displays things
ninja;d
I understand.
So the browser does the background work pretty much.
HTML is more similar to an image file than source code.
04:24
Yes, your browser does the work.
Ah.
Got you.
Thanks guys, I get it now.
Lol sorry about the question.
:)
No problem.
You never need to be sorry!
By extension, CSS tells the computer what it looks like.
Dennis' analogy actually helped me understand it better myself.

04:25
Oh okay starman, I got you.
@AlexA. I was about to say that myself.
Starman, did you name youself after the bowie song?
@AlexA. Yes, I agree.
@AshwinGupta No, I just like stars. I came up with this name something like a decade ago.
@El'endiaStarman cool :D. I like stars too!
I hate stars! >:U (just kidding I considered majoring in astronomy)
Nice.
What did you pick instead? (Software?)
or CS?
Math
04:27
Oh nice.
with a minor in stats
now I'm doing a master's in applied stats
@El'endiaStarman I just assumed it was your real name.
Starman is a real last name?
04:28
@PhiNotPi It practically is considering that I use it everywhere online. I have even gotten some mail with that name on it. :P
Honestly, I wish my last name was Starman. That would be awesome. I'm Mr. Starman.
Or if you get a phd you could have people call you Dr. Starman. Sounds like a bad guy from batman.
hahaha, yeah
Since we arent ever on topic anyway: did you guys see the new tesla?
Looks so cool honestly, and its wayyy cheaper then the other one (although still pretty expensive).
^ Proof. :P
@El'endiaStarman xd cool.
04:31
How would they even find your username, though?
I ordered a CD online from them.
Why would you assume that accessing Google Maps would be less dangerous than accessing banking data? I happen to know one guy who would prefer that hackers empty his bank account than his wife find out where he goes on lunch breaks. The point is, when designing a secure system, you cannot make any assumptions. — dotancohen yesterday
LOL
=/
TimmyD's joke is so stupid its actually really funny.
@El'endiaStarman I think I found your Facebook account (literally from Googling "El'endia" to see if it was a real name)
@Dennis How would I pm you?
04:35
@PhiNotPi Pretty sure you did.
I would like to congratulate you on making the most unique but realistic fake name I think I've ever seen.
PhiNotPi doesn't seem to fool people.
How many votes do you need to pass primaries?
0, since it takes the top 10 but there's only 10 still running.
04:36
Actually, only 8.
Only 8 still running.
Lol okay.
Both negative-score candidates dropped out.
Alright, Im off for the night
@KennyLau SE has no pm's. (You could get invited into a private chatroom made by a mod - but that's rare.)
04:37
Good luck to all in the election phase tomorrow!
Yeah same ^^
@Dennis Looks lik eyou're a mod?
Also, I'm off to sleep too. I'm gonna fail my math test otherwise.
cya

Ha, g'night and good luck! :)
@PhiNotPi Maybe that's why people ask if it's real.
04:38
@Mods Sorry if I wasn't supposed to talk about secret mod rooms...
39 lashes for you!
Everyone already knew about secret mod rooms.
Martin invited me to one once and it was about the same
@HelkaHomba Rare and for moderation issues only
Fun fact: at Fluther.com, not only do mods have a secret room, but we have an entire Q&A section of the website to ourselves!
04:40
o_O
@PhiNotPi How many mods are there? o.O
Well, SE has Community Building
but it's public
And not doing very well.
Yeah
04:41
@PhiNotPi How to pronounce?
Rhymes with "other" and "brother"
Wow, hard to believe it's over a year and a half old. 0 q/day and 30 visits/day. Sad...
@AlexA. So ironic
@PhiNotPi Nice avatar there.
Oops, I didn't visit the site today, turns out I missed our April Fool's planning. ;-;
04:45
I keep kinda wanting to play more of Unikong and then decide not to when I remember how boring it is once you've played it a couple times. >_<
> PhiNotPi is a beta version AI program (sorry, ladies) created by Fluther founder Ben Finkle when he should have been upgrading the site’s servers. Several Fluther members have been kind enough to point out recurring bugs in Phi’s code, such as the fact that “he” has claimed to be 15 years old for, like, three years now. Please keep those bug reports coming. We hope to initiate the actual Turing test sometime in the fall. On the plus side, I've tracked down the login info for it.
This year's April Fools is a step down from last years (referring to Fluther).

@Downgoat A place I moderate: fluther.com/help/moderators
Do you guys ever sleep here?
05:09
@PhiNotPi interesting
@PinCrash why sleep when you can get outgolfed by Dennis
I have more "rep" on Fluther than SE, which is saying something (questions are +3 and answers are +5 there)
@PhiNotPi this user seems to be posting spam: fluther.com/users/gayloffrederickr
@PhiNotPi you can completely nuke users? Awesome.
Apparently "he" was from Sri Lanka
05:13
@Downgoat SE mods can nuke users too.
@Downgoat Typical mod powers.
In almost all situations where one would want to do that.
> light questions
@Dennis completely? I thought ot was just sispensions..?
05:14
Not sure I'd call that a "light" question. :P (Though most of the answers are.)
@Downgoat Nothing is ever really deleted / gone / nuked
@PinCrash Once upon a time, that question would have been moderated because of a complete lack of details section, but we've stopped caring.
@PinCrash Except boat programming questions.
@PhiNotPi does flutter have badges/rep/privileges? What is my incentive for participating?
05:16
@PinCrash Well, even that user isn't "completely" nuked. Just banned. I could nuke it if I wanted to.
@Downgoat We have "lurve" similar to "rep"
@Quill lol, well yeah, that's the real delete right there
Wat. Lurve?
@PhiNotPi That's an obvious choice.
@Downgoat There's probably still some trace of nuked users on SE, especially if they've posted, but aside from that, a nuked account is totally gone.
There's "delete" and then there's "destroy". :P
I destroyed a user earlier today!
05:19
@Downgoat You really just made an account?
And by user I mean my dinner
and by destroyed I mean ate
Seeds?
chirp chirp, son.

Omg. Our CEO sent out this huge email about feedback he got from a demo he did at some conference, and what he committed to over the course of the next year. I was frantically trying to piece it all together and even started creating user stories, thinking "How are we ever going to get this done?" when I got to the bottom: "I sincerely hope that no one was harmed in the reading of this April Fool’s message and that you can all take another deep breath and have a good laugh."

It's gonna be a day...
Hah
We got our EV SSL cert approved today. If that was an April Fool's joke then someone is going to have a bad day at Comodo.
13:02
I'm just upset that they killed the "mic drop" in gmail before I got a chance to use it. I can think of several people who deserve one.
I had a nightmare last night that I was back living at Mom's old house, and a guy with a rifle was after us. We escaped to the roof, and then he shot us from the patio and I woke up. I could not calm down until I finally realized: you can't see the roof from Mom's old patio.
Ugh. The guy who lied about there being pigs and donuts in the break room last year just emailed everyone again and said he felt bad about last year.
What do I do?
Obviously the "feeling bad" is an April Fool's joke. Thus, he doesn't actually feel bad.
The only logical solution is to murder his entire village and salt the earth.
Once you've done that, just say "April Fool's!" and all is forgiven.
3 minutes back in the TNB after a week and there's already genocide jokes
