9:00 PM
Woah. My spelling is getting really bad. Here Hear my corrections.

Does anyone here speak german? Just heard a nice joke. But only works in german.
(Highfive for myself, as I noticed this before I started telling the joke...)
@AlexA. Please pin this.

Haha

Thanks!

Whoa, wtf. I didn't pin that.

Doesn't matter, as long as my commands get executed.

9:05 PM
Hahaha
We must obey Overlord Flawr

Now I only have to find something to tell you to vote for...
Being a leader is not easy.

@flawr hm?

Well that is pretty good, 15 questions today and counting

s/pretty good/nuts/

Ok here we go: Downvote all answers written in languages, that have an entry in esolangs.org

9:10 PM
I'm staging a coup

Upon who?

@AlexA. There is nothing to decline. This is a command.

All in favour of removing flawr from power say I

You say nothing.

I WILL REBEL

9:12 PM

@GamrCorps (Isn't it "say 'aye'"?)

@AlexA. whatever
Im just trying to make a point

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@AlexA. &shrugface; should really be a thing=)

Well, it kind of is. That's the text I use for my automatic text replacement.
I also have &disapprovalface;
and &lennyface;

9:16 PM
Haha=)

and &tableflip;

Who is lenny?

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

@GamrCorps is it though? do we even have the necessary activity to give each of them the number of answers it deserves? especially on a weekend?

Oh, that creeper.
&metalface;?

9:17 PM
@flawr What would that be?

@MartinBüttner youre right, but just thought Id point that out.

\m/_(ツ)_\m/
&pommesgabelface;

@MartinBüttner Probably not. Unfortunately 10 Q/day just isn't ideal here, despite being necessary for graduation.

Graduation aside, more questions might attract more people so that we'd be able to keep up with answers. This is hypothetical, however.

Yeah. That reminds me of a meta post I've been meaning to make for a while. I should do that today.

9:20 PM
@AlexA. [citation-needed]

@MartinBüttner For which part?

"being necessary"
it's a guideline, afaik.

I had heard it was a hard minimum before they even talk about graduating the site.

@AlexA. What are you using for replacement?

@flawr It's one of the Mac system settings.

9:24 PM
Oh, I expected something more sophisticated=)

It's me we're talking about. There's no sophistication.

> This is not 100% automated; CMs will still be manually checking on how individual communities are doing, and some sites might still graduate "earlier" or "later" than their question activity alone would suggest; but it's an effective rule of thumb.

@MartinBüttner o shit where u find dis

Like I said:

Maybe we're just not a good fit for the network or something. We're excellent in all categories except for questions which we are Ok in. Sites have graduated with worse (far worse) stats

9:28 PM
We're not a good fit for the software.

We make it work though.

I said this before, but I hope we won't graduate before they actually make some changes to the software specifically for this community. And I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon.

don't say that too loud or we definitely won't graduate :P

s/any time soon/ever/

Why does this thing fail to upload images that are from imgur itself???

9:30 PM
But I'd rather remain in perpetual beta like this than graduate with a completely standard SE instance that doesn't really fit what we're doing here.
Out of all the sites on the network, PPCG is probably the only one where the word "beta" actually makes sense.

Beta implies that SE is working with us towards graduation
I don't feel that at all

lol wat

@MartinBüttner I disagree in some aspects. The beta label makes sense when a site first enters public beta because things are still in flux. For communities who mostly have things figured out and have been around for many years, the beta label doesn't really make sense (IMO).
(That said, I don't think PPCG has everything figured out, but I think we've made it work thus far within the confines of the current framework)

His point is that beta = they haven't made the software yet to make PPCG work
But beta also implies that said software is being worked on

9:34 PM
But the software doesn't really change much between sites.

It should for this is his point

I know

Hence the word "beta" making sense

@zyabin101 my answer what?

I agree and I think that's why we're never graduating
SE just doesn't care that much

9:35 PM
I understand his point, I just disagree that "beta" makes sense as a label for this community.

At the same time it cares enough not to let us graduate "incomplete"

A: Graduation, site closure, and a clearer outlook on the health of SE sites

JoeI think this is a good start. More clarity = happier users, nearly universally. However, I think that more feedback would be very helpful, particularly on sites that have been around for years and are still in beta. Parenting is my example of this, but I'm sure there are other similar sites: s...

I agree with this a lot

It's a double-edged sword, but the handle is lined with poison spikes

@quartata I think they just do not want to make different software versions for each individual SE.

Right
But

At the same time it cares enough not to let us graduate "incomplete"

9:38 PM
The thing is though, "complete" doesn't make sense here. We're complete in the sense of working within the current framework, but the current framework isn't ideal for us, which I suppose you could say makes us "incomplete."

@AlexA. IIRC we were promised another "update" meta post... oh, about a year or so ago, but it never happened -_-

:/

@AlexA. That's my point. SE knows we're not a good fit for the framework but won't change the framework for us
Which is OK
However they also won't graduate us with the bad fit framework

I don't know that they know we aren't a good fit for the framework. I get the feeling they don't pay all that much attention to us. :P

You're wrong. If they didn't pay attention to us they would have graduated us without thinking it through

9:39 PM
> "Ew theyre still there. We still cannot close it without anyone noticing...."

:P

@quartata They wouldn't though, because we don't have the necessary stats.

We do, in a sense.
We were at 8.5 Qs/day a while back

We don't have the requisite questions per day

Sites have graduated at 8.5 (I think)
We're perfect in everything else too

9:40 PM
@quartata [citation-needed]

fine jeez
brb searching A51

@quartata The requirement is 10

@Doorknob What base?=)

...10

What base??

9:42 PM
Rephrasal: The requirement for being considered for graduation is 10

=P

Are there any other graduated sites whose main purposes is not asking questions and receiving assistance? As I mentioned in my we-should-make-upvotes-plus-10 answer, we don't ask questions because we need help; we ask questions because we want to challenge those answering them. Could that possibly be a reason (SE wants the "important" parts of it to be assistance-based)?

Why do people upvote answers that don't even pass >50% of the test cases? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

@Ampora puzzling.se

@Ampora first question: no. Second question: no, if PPCG as an idea were a bad one it wouldn't have existed in the first place.
@flawr Puzzling is not graduated

9:43 PM
@Doorknob ¯\_(ಠ_ಠ)_/¯

Oh right, sorry.
Didn't read the "graduated"

Yeah Puzzling is for sure not graduating. Sorry @Doorknob :P
They're like us but even less answers.
They're probably a good fit for perpetual beta though.
We, however, really are not the best fit for perpetual beta (as I see it)

Actually I remember reading from a CM a while back that Puzzling was semi-close to graduating

Wait, WHAT?
GIVE ME NAMES
dammit

@Doorknob ∏o∏

9:48 PM
@quartata Jack John Anita Dorothea Charlie
enough?

Ye sure

Those are some names

Anyways that more or less confirms my hypothesis

*hypothesis

If Puzzling has worse stats than us and yet has been publicly confirmed to be close to graduation....
Then it's not stats.
It's "framework."
@flawr Nitpick
We're in the very srs field of "graduation science" clearly

9:50 PM
A CM contacted us in the code trolling days saying that we were on track to graduate but he got a ton of backlash from the community saying how terrible code trolling was. That may have given SE the impression that we don't want to graduate.

Grace Note is a dude

What?
Oh...

@AlexA. really?

Grace Note is just his username.

9:52 PM
I honestly thought Grace Note was his real name

A grace note is a kind of music notation used to denote several kinds of musical ornaments, usually printed smaller to indicate that it is melodically and harmonically nonessential. When occurring by itself, a single grace note normally indicates the intention of either an appoggiatura or an acciaccatura. When they occur in groups, grace notes can be interpreted to indicate any of several different classes of ornamentation, depending on interpretation. == Notation == In notation a grace note is distinguished from a regular note by print size. A grace note is indicated by printing a note that is...

> The invention of a new puzzle type, and perhaps continued innovation in that department, helps a lot.
(on code trolling)

I've seen stranger names

@Maltysen Positive.

You know, Alexa too isn't a girl IRL.

9:53 PM
ಠ_ಠ There are no users named Alexa here.

You mean @Alexa?

* @Alexa.

@alexa.

@NewSandboxedPosts Please not.

9:54 PM
All of a sudden @PhiNotPi challenge explosion.
