@Adriandmen We're talking about a theoretical solution here.

@Mego Theoretically the chance is almost 0

@Adriandmen I'm sure the program is valid though...

What evil have you done today @AlexA.???

@quartata I'm pretty sure it isn't

@flawr Oh you know, the usual: Helped some old ladies cross the street, got a kitten out of a tree, baked an apple pie for some blind people.

12:02 AM
But Mauris is the only one who knows the truth

Anonymous
@Adriandmen I don't think you're getting what I'm saying. If I were to have submitted a valid submission to the earlier one that used only deletions and it wasn't cracked, it would be a valid submission in the newer one. The probability of it being cracked in the older one is irrelevant, because in this hypothetical situation, I'm saying it wasn't cracked.

@AlexA. Ok that is evil enough.
Just watched mockingjay part 2

@Adriandmen I haven't been paying attention to this conversation at all but that sentence out of context is really amusing to me.
@flawr What's that?

@Adriandmen Why?

@Mego I disagree there. Restricting the contest to deletions completely changes the feel.

12:03 AM
The fourth movie in the hunger games series. (The second movie of book 3.)

@ThomasKwa Not really.

Hello all!

Plenty of the solutions involved only deletions.

Anonymous
@ThomasKwa The new one is a subset of the old one.

@Mego It's a small enough subset.

12:04 AM
Hello @isaacg

@quartata Based on the amount of restrictions

@Adriandmen The only restricting difference between the two is that only deletion can be used.

Anonymous
@ThomasKwa Size of the subset doesn't matter - it's been covered already by the previous challenge

@flawr Oh, okay. I've never read the Hunger Games books or seen the movies. Are they good?

Holy shit we made a big mistake
> The adjustment must have 3 to 8 characters less than your original program
oops

12:05 AM
@isaacg if there is code following .q, why will it execute it??

> 3

Anonymous
@quartata Yeah we really messed up choosing Alex

Anonymous
@quartata That's not a significant difference

Anonymous
The concept of the challenge is still the same

@AlexA. I read the books some years ago, but I think I liked them.
And the movies are quite good too=)

12:06 AM
@Mego :/

PS: Right now I am reading one of Patrick Ness' newest books: The rest of us just live here as far as I can tell by know it takes place in Washington State!

If you don't think a challenge is a duplicate you can always vote to reopen it.

@Mego Eh, it's still means that my argument that you could copy stuff is wrong

@Mego Say I made a challenge for primality testing using the AKS test. (That's the polynomial time deterministic one.) It's possible that there's a language where that's the shortest way to primality test, but very unlikely.
Would that be a duplicate of our plain primality test question?

@flawr Awesome! I'll have to read that next! :)

12:08 AM
@ThomasKwa Mathematica uses that as its primality tester IIRC
But to answer your question no, it wouldn't be

@quartata Whatever. Say I disallow builtins.

@ThomasKwa Then it definitely wouldn't be a dupe

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Wait what? What message are you replying to?

@El'endiaStarman Nothing, just a passing comment.
I'm referring to my code.

@quartata why is Beep Boop Maggot closed room??

12:11 AM
@TanMath Because I wanted people (such as yourself) to stop harassing the bot
I needed to test it
It's not a big deal.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ I still don't know what the context of your statement is.

You know, I've never found a good use for mirror. xD — FlagAsSpam 24 mins ago

@quartata I never harassed the bot!

Until I added vitsy to the submission, the code in minkolang outputted the same thing in vitsy

Anonymous
@ThomasKwa Probably not. The difference there is, one challenge is asking for a primality test, and the other is asking to implement a specific algorithm.

12:12 AM
@Mego But the AKS is a subset of primality testing, is it not?

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Oh, that's funny. :P

Yeah XD
It was frustrating as I couldn't find a significant feature that would make it different :P

@Mego So, additions aren't allowed, substitutions aren't allowed and using a maximum of 3 to 8 deletions is mandatory. And this is still a dupe?

Anonymous
@ThomasKwa Yes. I would be heavily on the fence as to whether or not it was a dupe.

Because of your "theoretical" solution?

12:13 AM
@quartata did you kick out @SuperJedi224

Anonymous
I'm standing by my dupe vote.

@TanMath I haven't seen him around, I'll ask him if he wants access so he can use his bot

If it gets reopened, fine, but I believe it is a dupe

Screw it.

It's almost as tasty as tacos.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ What does m do?
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Use zero space. :P

@AlexA. You actually did it.
Wow.

@FlagAsSpam It's your language XD

@quartata bots do not have feelings

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Ah-ha! Vitsy is a dupe of Minkolang! @FlagAsSpam!!!

@FlagAsSpam I meant inline :P

12:53 AM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Why would I waste characters on that? :P

@FlagAsSpam xD I did, @El'endiaStarman did, @Mego will

Plus, you can always add those funky no-ops and reference them later.

Jump on the bandwagon!

(~-.-)~ Nu.
Just use ;u statements with no argument behind and put no-op references.

They would've helped in the versatile int thingy

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Whoops.
If I do make comments, it'll be one byte.

@FlagAsSpam Seriously uses the CP437 encoding, so every byte is a printable character.

Oh, alrighty.

I want to make a language that's scored in UTF-32. Four bytes/character FTW.

@AlexA. I'm not a Yu-Gi-Oh card

@Calvin'sHobbies Oh, my mistake.

@AlexA. See: burlesque.

1:08 AM
I'm fairly certain that Burlesque uses only ASCII characters.

It does, but it's forced two-char instructions.

Oh, okay.
But it's still one byte/character for scoring.
I want 4 bytes for every character.
Unicode bowling.

Yes, but it's two characters (and maybe a space?) per command. So you can only do 3 byte instructions.
It's like UTF-24.

UTF-24...?

@quartata You drop some number of the best and worst times depending on how many times were given, and then calculate either the average (mean) or standard deviation.

@El'endiaStarman I get that part.
What I don't understand is why the input format is so weird.
