Hi, I noticed that many questions with the code-gold tag don't declare an end date for the vote. So some questions are closed after a mysterious time. Is there a question on meta.CG to discuss if an end datetime should be required?
That's interesting, I didn't know you can accept another answer once you already accepted one. And what about popularity-contest? You update the accepted answer everyday if the votes change continuously?
I love the look of our front page. On Hold, On Hold, On Hold, On Hold, Duplicate, oh look there is even a challenge below that one that isn't on hold!
These days one must wait for two hours before attempting any challenge, because there is a 50% chance it will be closed while you are wasting your time.
I used to think the same thing when I visited Programmers. Seriously, those guys were(are?) damn ruthless when taking out the trash. It didn't take long to realize there's a very good reason for doing it.
@Rusher Ah, you young whippersnappers don't know you're born. In my day we'd have to wait two weeks for a challenge, and then the OP would change the question completely just before you posted the answer you'd spent hours working on. ;-)
@Rusher What front page are you looking at? I only see 5 on hold / closed questions on the entire page, the first one's about 40% of the way down, and there's only been activity on 5 questions since you posted that.
@PeterTaylor Geobits is correct. I didn't know until just now that Stack Exchange stored question sort preference in a cookie. I wrongly assumed that the default was sortOrder=newest.
@ChrisJester-Young Haha they are account bound. Three of the rolls were perfect, and the fourth was rerolled by the mystic until it was perfect. Unfortunately, use the mystic binds the item :(
