11:00 PM
There, Boaty McBoatface is done

@ASCII-only Great job on the perl quine.

@TonHospel yeah, i finally found the 21-byter and then did something random and it worked >_>

@ASCII-only Right. And once you showed it was possible I thought..mm, there is no way anothert method can work. let's reread the docs. And then I saw what it had to be (I never knew that feature)

Now, I need to remember how to Ruby correctly >_<

btw my perl 6 quine is basically as similar as it can be (sadly it's two bytes longer than current shortest in ruby)

11:05 PM
I'm pretty surprised that perl can quine as short as bash (and bash cheats)

@betseg beautiful... self promotion. lol have an updoot

@ASCII-only ps, i I also caught up on sierpinski, but I don't think it will stand. I bet lower is possible

hmm, possibly. i wonder if the perl 6 one uses a better algorithm (or builtin cheats)
also: O_o how did you get pangram grep that short? are you using a better method than hash slices?

I cheated a bit. It's really should be 34. I'm in fact amazed that you have a 33

@TonHospel i cheated too >_> mine should really be 38 i think

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

NitReserved Javascript code-bowling code-golf javascript As of ECMAScript 2015, Javascript has 33 reserved keywords, such as break, const and new, as well as 10 future reserved keywords, such as let and await. Your task is to chain together the largest number of consecutive1 unique reserved keywo...

@ASCII-only In general I'm amazed on how well perl6 does. On stackexchange I can usually beat perl6 (and ruby, which also does great)
Mm, Only tedious challenges are left. Only tau and phi look somewhat interesting and they will mostly be more of the same as I did for pi and e (though i haven't found a good formula for phi yet)

O_o
how did you get 100 bytes for 99bb

Not having builtin infinite precission math is painfull

yes it is >_> i'm amazed you can do it at all

99bb?

11:20 PM
@ASCII-only I cheated like crazy

@moonheart08 99 bottles of beer

@TonHospel "This assumes the executable is named contains perl."

@Riker Ok, so I can't construct proper sentences :-)

not a problem I just wanted to let you know

11:24 PM
@TonHospel hmm are you using some kind of string compression? just one verse (with variables) is already ~90 bytes

Yeah, thanks. I just fixed it :-)

Its neat how dense you can pack functionalities into a single byte with jelly like design and only 3 data types (Number, Array, Link)
https://hastebin.com/wudopifunu.hs

Yeah, I'm not a fan of codegolf languages, but ignoring that jelly seems rather neat

hides away Charcoal

hides away QUARK

11:26 PM
@ASCII-only Yeah, for 12 day of christmas the counting argument is even worse

One would hide away APL, but it's not a golfing language :)

@TonHospel counting argument?

I saw charcoal, but quark is new. for me. And yeah, I even did a bit of APL very long ago.
@ASCII-only Counting the unique string in the text and comparing that to the current best solution

QUARK was something i'm making. I'm already redoing it lol

@moonheart08 The strong force is strong for you (and QUARKs )

11:31 PM
i'm tempted to name my remake of it Charm QUARK or Top Quark instead of QUARK II
Charm quarks are the 3rd heaviest quark, Top Quarks are the first

strange quark ?

you're a strange quark. Charm QUARK is better

Top quarks destabilize the universe...

said who
i like Charm QUARK better anyways

The top mass is such that together with the higgs it could cause problems. But somehow the universe still seems to exist :-)

11:51 PM
The Top Quark has been synthesised in particle accelerators now
can confirm universe not dead

@TonHospel if you don't mind me asking, are you using a method other than hash slices?
