Challenge idea:
Punycode is a way to represent Unicode with the limited character subset of ASCII supported by the Domain Name System. For example, "München" (German name for the city of Munich) would be encoded as "Mnchen-3ya". Punycode is intended for the encoding of labels in the Internationalized Domain Names in Applications (IDNA) framework, such that these domain names may be represented in the ASCII character set allowed in the Domain Name System of the Internet. The encoding syntax is defined in IETF document RFC 3492. The IDNA methodology encodes only select label components of domain names with a procedure...

that's a good idea .

I agree with that ↑

apparently, this is the sun: ☉. (its actually an eyeball)

@MartinEnder Well the right column doesn't have to be a wall for you to go up in it.
But let's see if we interpret the spec the same way; it was not very well written.
I'm seeing as you move up from 0-4 times, then move right once, then fall until you hit a block.

Yeah, if you do it in that order then the falling and jumping potentially overlap.

I think you could still do it if you split into 2 cases.
Depending on whether not you end up lower than you started.

You mean falling in the current column and jumping in the next one (which would be partially inside a wall)?
Hm, that might work

7:32 AM
There's also the nuclear option: teleports.

It's been 15 hours since the last challenge... anyone posting a challenge?

@GLASSIC looking forward
how long do I need to wait for?

@LeakyNun wait for few minutes

@GLASSIC nice

Q: Run Stackylogic

Helka HombaStackylogic is a logic-based programming language I made up that take in 0's and 1's for input and outputs a single 0 or 1 upon completion. A Stackylogic program consists of lines that can only contain the three characters 01? as well as exactly one < at the end of one of the lines. Lines may no...

I asked Helka if I could make a SL IDE
and he was like "Yeah"
so I made one
What I want to ask you, @LeakyNun, is
I'm making a file extension .sl for SL
And I want to open it with Python
How do I do that

@DerpfacePython f = open("xxx.sl",'r')?

7:41 AM
Wait
You can do that?

@DerpfacePython why not?

Just haven't tested it yet
What about opening from the .sl file?

@DerpfacePython what do you mean?
@DerpfacePython (sidenote) the program in your profile
it won't work, right

LOL, yeah
Made this account when I was a Python nub
Havent bothered to change it

lol

7:44 AM
Oh and for the other thing
I mean what about running the SL code from the .sl?
That would probably be infinitely harder right

@DerpfacePython eh, you would need to write the python program to do that?
TIL Rule #34

Too meta to be R34

What is that
What

is that?... :P

It's 10am, and 28 °C inside already. Ugh.

LOL, freezing here

@DestructibleWatermelon Care to share an ungolfed version of the following answer, maybe with an explanation?

A: Run Stackylogic

Destructible WatermelonPython 3, 318 def s(f,z): p=b="";g=0;a=[];n=a.append;n(p) for i in f: if i=="\n":n(p);p='' else:p+=i n(p);p=b;n(p) while g<len(a): if'<'in a[g]:q=g;a[q]=a[q][:-1] g+=1 while 1: v=a[q] if v=='':print(b);break if v[-1]=='1':a[q]=v[:-1];q+=1;b=1 elif v[-1]=="0":a[q]=v[:-1];q-=1...

uhhh, to be honest it's not very golfed...
also it's been too long, I think

@LeakyNun yeah anyone can simplify the expr ... what should i write instead ?
@LeakyNun but i doubt the y is useless ...
@LeakyNun thanks!

@GLASSIC Your challenge simplifies to find the divisors of x of the form 10^n-1 and output x divided by the divisors.

30⁷ = 21870000000
._.

the significance of another dimension in programming has a formula
let me figure it out

20.36 GB
._.
1 min ago, by TùxCräftîñg
30⁷ = 21870000000

well, its the inverse of an exponential or a quadratic or something like that
maybe you don't need 30 by 30, by 30, ....

9:01 AM
@DestructibleWatermelon a 3d array is a array of array of array
so a 7d array is a array of array of array of array...

@TùxCräftîñg Good luck creating 20GB of data

also 7d isn't much better than 6D, which isn't that much better than 5d, which is only a little than 4d, which is an amount better than 3d, which is a fair amount better than 2d, which is quite a bit better than 1d

and after that i will have 2 problems: the control flow and the file structure
so: 3d is simpler

@TùxCräftîñg Nope, it's 21.87 GB. 20.36 is gibibytes.

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
30³ is only 27KiB

9:04 AM
2^7 = 127, 4^7=2^14=16384

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 s/gibibytes/GiB

so 3d is way better for the same playground size

gigabytes used to be gibibytes, but then marketing ._. (x/(10^9)> x/(1.07*10^9))

@Fatalize "that's crazing me" means I'm crazed by that.

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 In Russia, Blocked is Pokemon Go.

HyperDev is pretty cool... and they sent me some swag as well

why am i reading the ToS?
hyperdev.com -> hyperdev.com/#!/project/rogue-crow -> rogue-crow is blacklisted

@TùxCräftîñg Are you logged into GitHub?

@TùxCräftîñg How is Your Mom?

Then you may have not claimed the project.

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 i am auto-redirected to the page

@TùxCräftîñg Of the ToS?

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 no to the rogue-crow project
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@DestructibleWatermelon the last commit is 8 day ago
:/

@TùxCräftîñg Then you can try to claim the project now by logging in with GitHub.

@TùxCräftîñg But you have an interpreter though. unlike me :/

Also, how to convert $('<li></li>').text(dream).appendTo('ul#dreams'); to plain JS?
:/

10:27 AM
no brainfucking idea :/
and this is why jQuery is good

I need to make an interpreter so that I can submit my 3 char submission to truth machine catalog

This code appends a li element with content of variable dream inside the element to the end of inside the content of the ul element with id dreams.

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 document.querySelector('ul#dreams').innerHTML += '<li>' + dream + '</li>'
hacky but working

@DestructibleWatermelon if you want i can create the interpreter

@TùxCräftîñg If you want, you can work with me on the fringe-owl project. :3

@DestructibleWatermelon but then i need the specs
@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 the fringe-owl project?

@TùxCräftîñg The project on HyperDev I'm working on.
@Bob Uhh... TùxCräftîñg did it with one line.

this site is perfect to do html tests

Bob
10:32 AM
@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 eh, depends if you can live with the side effects of innerHTML I suppose
namely, you lose event handlers on all the existing children

@Bob the elements are added to the DOM
and i think event handlers are preserved

@Bob I'm not going to add event handlers on the list elements.

just realised my one line truth machine is wrong O.o

Bob
@TùxCräftîñg doesn't seem to be :\ codepen.io/anon/pen/GqdmWR

so for the event handlers we need to create a element, not edit the innerHTML TIL

Bob

@TùxCräftîñg yea, never said it doesn't work at all, but good to be aware of what it actually does
suppose it would be kinda fun trying to track down a missing event bug later

huh, apparently you can one-line the DOM way
document.querySelector('ul#dreams').appendChild(document.createElement('li')).textContent = dream;

@DestructibleWatermelon where is the specs of eseljik?

I'm actually updating the specs at the moment

@TùxCräftîñg HyperDev apps very quickly hibernate while no one is using them. To wake them up, whistle in their ear just go to the app site.

I might add a random command as well

10:48 AM
@DestructibleWatermelon bah you can use it, ¿ is in a lot of codepages

@DestructibleWatermelon The random command should throw the pointer up or down randomly.

If I make a custom code page (replaces ! with ?), do I have to manually code it/find an example of it?

How to focus on an input with pure JS?

just realised I don't have a command for put last move in variable ಠ_ಠ

@Downgoat Still though, Mathematica can turn Downgoats into Upgoats, you can't argue with that

I don't know if there's a focus() function for inputs.
@LegionMammal978 Do you like this comic? :3

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 What's our RTROTD?

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 el.focus() also work on input elements

what should a Eseljik program output if it has no last move? I was thinking "Hello, World!", for the fun of it.

yet another 0-byte hello world program ;_;

11:23 AM
no, it would be a one byte answer
0 byte can't halt, because it never starts

@DestructibleWatermelon Make it have the minimum required for PPCG.

It's just that a program with no last move is already a special case,

Get an input of zero numbers, say "Hello, World!." Get an input of one number, check if it is prime. Get an input of at least two numbers, add them up.
Then it is technically allowed on PPCG as a programming language.

That answer was BS though

11:27 AM
stackylogic can emulate logic gates. if it can emulate logic gates, it can emulate a turing machine
because AFAIK computers are only a lot of logic gates
so stackylogic is TC

@TùxCräftîñg But Turing completeness isn't enough.

TC == add two numbers, process primes...

stackylogic always halts

Tux, that's not how it works - I''m fairly sure you can't loop in Stackylogic for one thing, so the TC claim can't be true

@Sp3000 looping in stackylogic is impossible but in @DestructibleWatermelon's derivative it's possible

11:29 AM
well, its not TC from the logic gates
also computers != TC

Well I was assuming by Stackylogic you meant the original, since I'm assuming the derivative has its own name

@TùxCräftîñg It is one thing. But another thing is to output it.

@Sp3000 Eseljik

I'm trying to change my Mathematica installation directory, but I'm afraid of asking Wolfram Research's support due to them requiring my license key, on which some of the personal information may not have been completely accurate...
