i have segfault python \o/

@El'endiaStarman I have a friend with over 400, and for quite some time my sole goal on PE was to do a problem they hadn't already. I managed once, told them about it, only to find that they shrugged it off and had it solved the next day.

Q: Dijkstra's Challenge

AdámPresented in honor of APL as an interactive tool turning 50 this year Background Ken [Iverson] presented his paper Formalism in Programming Languages in August 1963 at a Working Conference on Mechanical Language Structures, Princeton, N.J. The list of conferees is full of famous and soon-to-...

Hmm El'endia's done some I haven't... might try those :D

Well, apparently this has something to do with it:
It's only reference is to a $26 book which I wouldn't read for any other purpose

ven
12:08 PM
@aditsu mmh, looks like all the online interpreters will not print intermediate results :(

@ven intermediate?

Oh, great, archive.org has it for free

ven
@aditsu i.e. when running an infinite loop

@ven TIO does

12:10 PM
ah, ok.. I think it can be done, but it's not very simple

schas002:~/workspace (master) $ ./srs -h
: No such file or directory

@aditsu When I wrote an online interpreter, I just made it buffer on newlines

oh, I know why it's broken, it's just dumb

mine runs in the browser

ven
@Sp3000 oh amazing thanks :)
@aditsu is there an o-with-newline?
(p has extraneous quotes...)

12:12 PM
The canonical answer is No, oNo.

@ven I've implemented n but it's not released yet

ven
aw!

^ have to decipher that thing

ven
1{_50<}{_'#*o'
o)}w;

(I think that's one of the longest tickets CJam's had?)

12:13 PM
@ven ah, cjam.tryitonline.net uses the latest code from hg so you can use n there

@ven oh wow how?

btw ven, did you mean g or h instead of w?

ven
@Sp3000 i don't think so?

@ven you can use N instead of the newline character

ven
@aditsu I can also just une the n command! :P

12:14 PM
Oh, that one's fine. Your earlier 1{_'#*o}w wouldn't have worked though

sure, on that site

@LegionMammal978 ಠ_ಠ

How to setup Seriously on C9? >:|

You don't...?

ven
@Sp3000 ah aye

12:18 PM
: No such file or directory

Process exited with code: 127
You're so dumb, "Shell script" runner.

@Sp3000 @ven indeed, on TIO it automatically kills the program after a certain time and shows you what it printed so far

\o/ ANSI escape code work on win10 console

ven
@aditsu is there a command to get the N-th stack arg? or the top even?

\o/
Process exited with code: 0

ven
@TùxCräftîñg even cmd.exe on windows vista could print color, so..
but yes ENOTANSI

12:19 PM
@ven ENOTANSI?

@ven _ or 0$ is the top, and you can use any <number>$

ven
@aditsu does it pop?

no

ENOTANSI ಠ_ಠ

-1$ or W$ is the bottom

ven
12:21 PM
@aditsu aaaaah now it makes sense :D.
thank you <3
30 1{_W$<}{_'#*n)}w;;

you just want to print a triangle of #'s?

ven
not quite a triangle, an escalator
triangle would have its top centered (and I'd need W$2/CURRENT-).

it's still a triangle, a right-angled one

ven
@aditsu well, then yeah

Question: How does one quickly compute integer powers of radicals?

12:23 PM
30,'#f*N*

ven
you have a leading newline

ok, how about 30,'#f*N*( ? is trailing newline ok?

ven
no :P

zero newlines at the end? then.. 30,1>'#f*N*

ven
wait why doesn't 30,('#f*N* work?
oh it pushes it. duh.

12:28 PM
you could also do "30,:)" , depending if you want to end at 29 or 30

@aditsu :)

ven
30,); is what I have now

);
What's it with emoticons in the code? ^^

um.. that should still have a leading newline

ven
why, no? it popped 0.

12:29 PM
); pops the last one

ven
I uncons 0 from the range generated with ,, then pop it from the stack.

(; pops the first one
(; is the same as 1> which I wrote above

ven
ah yes sorry, I have (;
thanks :-)

@aditsu What's it with the emoticons in the code? ^^

ven
hehe, emotes are good.
Still gonna write my solution down somewhere, backseat learning is no fun

12:33 PM
@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 "HAL":) -> "IBM"

I mean, why they exist in the code? ^^

because ) and ( are often needed

ven
is there no use for tail/init that doesn't push the extracted value?

Just tried my webcam exploit on another laptop. Turns out it had a different vendor than I thought. Well, now that led is bricked in an always-on state >.>

@ven you mean removing first/last element? not in 1 character

ven
12:42 PM
@aditsu okay.
@aditsu does f with a binary operator always expect the stack to have the array at the bottom (and whateverelse at the top)?

no, it can be the other way too, but for 2 arrays it iterates the first one

ven
very amaze. thanks again

@mınxomaτ so your hobby is to bork webcam leds?

ven
And sorry for the spam... We'll need a new 19th byte.
@TùxCräftîñg he's a security researcher

I think this stuff is much more on-topic than the usual chatter :p

ven
12:45 PM
being "on topic" is a vast matter..:)

this is even more true on TNB ._.

1:19 PM
@ven I have the latest, though.
@LegionMammal978 what is that?

@thepiercingarrow Did you see my public OpenPGP key?

@thepiercingarrow Something involving integer solutions of Ax^2 + By^2 = C

@thepiercingarrow a book

@LegionMammal978 What book? Looks interesting.

1:24 PM
schas002:~/workspace ((3236c0f...)) $ wc -l metagolf_progress.txt
18 metagolf_progress.txt
:)

@LegionMammal978 Neat. Is that for a class, or fun reading?

@thepiercingarrow Found it from a citation

Next up, Pixley :)

(Which I found from the above conversation)

@TùxCräftîñg Which lang?

a little golfing lang with meaningful symbols

Your Mom?

Raws?

1:29 PM
s/Raws/Rews/ and it's a string processor, so no

then idk

it's a little golfing lang that i have in local
unreleased

I'm golfing Actually numbers, all by myself.

Done 18/1000 from the test set from this challenge.

1:31 PM
i am using the C preprocessor with JS

ven
._.
use sweet.js

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 What language?

CPP ftw

@thepiercingarrow I'm golfing numbers in Actually, the successor of Seriously. But I'm doing it by hand.

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 Do you really have that much time to waste?

1:44 PM
-.(o.o).-

@TùxCräftîñg I've seen that, too bad it's unimplemented like 99.9% of the other langs on that site

@LegionMammal978 i can create a VM for it
but the assembler...

@LegionMammal978 That's no benefit to anyone except those who solved problem 137.

1:48 PM
@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 ik
(Wouldn't want to spoil the solution anyhow)

sometimes my mouse disconnect without any reason

@TùxCräftîñg And your mouse disconnect now?

@TùxCräftîñg That's why I switched to a wired mouse (my wireless receiver kept picking up random blocks of 5555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555

i have a wired mouse

@TùxCräftîñg wat

Whats the difference between a link and a symbolic link?

if you delete the original, a physical link would always work, while a symbolic link will be borked

Wait why?

a physical link share the same inode, a symbolic is only a link

1:53 PM

Weird, my carets were getting deleted as I tried to post them ._.

hah
wait
P/1 is little endian or big? ಠ_ಠ

(quote hello-world)
I can't do "Hello, World!" exactly in Pixley, so it can't be a lang by our definition...
Even then, it can't get input, add numbers or primality test them...

it cant add numbers WAT

> Pixley only understands the Scheme datatypes of lists, symbols, function values (lambdas), and booleans.
So it doesn't even have numbers to add.

okkk
WAT
a language that accept keywords with a little variation can be very cool
because sometimes i write retrun or fnuction

2:12 PM
Okay, now that I tried out Pixley a bit, next is a white list for TF2. ._.

#ifdef LITTLE_ENDIAN
    for (size_t i = offset + 7; i >= offset; i--)
#else
    for (size_t i = offset; i < offset + 8; i++)
#endif
        n = (n << 8) + memory[i];
ಠ_ಠ
hi @GiacomoGarabello

@thepiercingarrow assuming that by link you mean hard link - hard links are like reference-counted pointers, and symbolic links are like plain pointers or like urls; also, hard links only work within the same file system

ven
@TùxCräftîñg O_O
now that is ugly.
And how-so-error prone...

also, hard links are links to inodes, symbolic links are links to paths

@ven yes, but code length...
i am including stddef.h but i get unknow type: uint64_t ಠ_ಠ

ven
2:32 PM
it's stdint.h

keep getting the error

ven
then maybe your implementation doesn't implement them :)
they're an optional feature, after all...

ven
@TùxCräftîñg yes, but that's for your compiler, not for your stdlib impl.

hmm signing my commits isn't working...
@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 Yeah I saw your key.

Good. We should try playing with OpenPGP encryption in the Sandbox.
Which OS do you have?

2:42 PM
OS X

DEYUWIJDOKPW{PFOKIUYGTYFUI cmake compile in c89 mode by default

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 I have to go in 8 minuets so quick :(

2:45 PM
@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 What OS do you use?

@mınxomaτ Are you a reddit whitehat?

@thepiercingarrow Windows Vista.

i think my implementation should be called Preprocessor/1, because CPP abuse ftw in my code ._.

@LuisMendo is there a way in MATL to push the input again after it's already been read?

3:03 PM
> Available to the programmer. At IPL, value 0x0000000000000000 is affected to register 0 and value 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF is affected to register 255.

@LuisMendo No entendiste tu explicacion

it means that GPR0 = 0, GRP1 = 1, etc...

or only GPR255 = -1

You don't even play tf2..

But I wanted to try making one with resources found outside.
awaiting review :/

3:18 PM
This is a really stupid whitelist.

@TùxCräftîñg you play TF2, too? o_O

yep, sometimes
i mainly play minecraft

ven
TF2 in 2016? Just play its newer clone, overwatch!

TF2 is F2P

ven
3:25 PM
fair enough

………………
i have implemented every S and R instruction except INT in my VM

3:45 PM
@ven If Overwatch is a clone of anything it's a clone of smite
@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 dafuq why did you ban gunboats??
Why are you making a whitelist anyways

ven
@quartata uuh... No, I disagaree, tf2. medic and all

28 mins ago, by zʏᴀʙiɴ101
But I wanted to try making one with resources found outside.

@ven If this is about Mercy she plays very differently from the TF2 medic
That's not the point though
The point of TF2 is that it has a minimalist set of classes that all interact with each other
Overwatch is a MOBA at its heart. It has many heroes that don't all fit together but rather fit one of three general roles
The way class interaction works in the two games is very different. When it comes to comp they play very differently as a result

ven
Okay, I believe you. I'm sure you know tf2 better than me, never been that big of a fps player :).

I actually personally dislike Overwatch now that I've seen how it plays in competitive actually
@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 ?

3:54 PM
I thought Overwatch lacked enough variety of gameplay, I played for like an hour and felt it was pretty much the same the whole time
Was actually a bit surprised Blizzard would push it out the door like this, but I suppose there's a certain crowd that it appeals to
(hai)

@Phrancis This. The reason why MOBAs can get away with minimal class interaction is because they have 100+ heroes

@Phrancis (O HAI! IZ ZYABIN101.)

Overwatch doesn't have enough heroes to get away with it
I'm honestly amazed they've even been able to organize it as an e-sport so far. I predict the meta will go stale within 6 months

@quartata I was trying to make a whitelist with resources from the outside, the wiki.
While having not played TF at all. XP
