11:13 PM
What time zone are you in, @PhiNotPi?

EST

Cool. PST here.

Or, rather, EDT.

Oh are we in daylight time now? I can never remember when it's standard and when it's daylight.
Clearly I'm the master of interesting conversation.

yesh

11:22 PM
Are you a professional programmer, PhiNotPi?

nope

Impressive, so you're just a good one, not a professional? :)

I don't really know if I'm that good. I'm a highschooler.

Whaaaaaat. So many youngsters here.
I'm always impressed by people younger than me with skills far beyond my own.
(Not that I'm a geezer or anything. Mid-20s.)

Is there anyone here younger than doorknob?

11:31 PM
Probably not. He's what, 14?

I think so?

He his according to his profile.

I think I joined this site when I was 14.

He became moderator at age 13.

Wow.
I barely knew how to use a computer at 13.

11:35 PM
I was creating my first TI-BASIC programs at that age.

I don't even think I had my own calculator at that age.

If you're in your mid 20s now, computers must of been a new thing back then.

Hahaha

TI-BASIC is the best.

It's a horrible language.
Simple to start out with though.

11:37 PM
It's also slow as molasses.

Computers have been around since way before I was alive.
The first Fortran compiler was created in 1957.

The processor for my TI-83+ has been around for 39 years.

So the 83 in TI-83 isn't 1983? :P
The first programming language I used was Visual Basic for Applications when I was 18. I had no idea what I was doing.

They started manufacturing the TI-83+ in 1999.

Now there's a horrible language.
1999 - 2015 = 16 years, not 39.

11:43 PM
I said the processor earlier not the calculator :)

Oh right. Hah.
What was the first operating system you used?

Windows 2000

Are you pretty young as well?

Yes.

When did XP come out?

11:45 PM
Win XP for me, I think.
2001

The first computer I remember my family having ran Windows 95. We were on XP before I really started to use a computer though.

I remember playing the Oregon Trail :)

YES!
Oregon Trail!

I think that was when I was 4 or 5.

@AlexA. yup

11:48 PM
pulls copy of Oregon Trail II out of drawer

@Doorknob: I am very impressed with your accomplishments in your relatively short time on Earth! :)
@PhiNotPi: They made a sequel?

Heh, thanks! :)

Am I the oldest one in the chat room right now?

Released in '96.

I think so. And I'm not that old. You're all incredibly smart and talented, especially given your age!
@PhiNotPi: Nice. I should get it and a Windows 95 VM.

11:51 PM
@AlexA. rofl is older than you.

Who is rofl?

He's on CR mostly though.

@AlexA. The baboon guy.

Haha what? Baboon guy?

11:53 PM
Baboon!

The username is "rolfl", not "rofl"

Canadian baboon!
My icon is a Canadian goose. Maybe rolfl and I should swap icons.

I've just realized that aditsu's avatar is not a faucet.
@AlexA. My avatar is the best one.

Woah, wat, I always thought his avatar was a bird... O_o

Yeah it's the dude from Mortal Combat, right?
@TheBestOne: Your avatar is certainly a good one. Or if nothing else a green one. ;)

11:55 PM
I just saw it as a bunch of blue and grey.

Me too. Had to go look at his profile.

@AlexA. No, it's the best one. It's also a snake if you look close.

Here's a question: what percentage of my avatar is white?

>1%

Man, I just kind of assumed people here were generally college-aged. This chat never ceases to amaze.

11:57 PM
How old are you, @BrainSteel?

I turned 18 in January.

Happy belated 18th birthday!

Haha, we're a quarter of a year past it, but thank you :)

Oh we are?
Oh shit we are
O__O
The year has gone by so quickly.

I have 17/32 = 53%

11:59 PM
Sorry about the crisis I just made you experience :O

It's broken me.
