great answers from both of you!
@JohnB thanks
not to diminish your efforts but unfortunately we skip the primary phase of the election since there are only 4 nominees. The Q&A is really supposed to be part of the primary phase
hopefully people still see the link and read your responses though
Oh well, all I can do is try right
@Ryan are you still able to edit your "about me" blurb or is that now locked?
locked and not much to edit anyways since it had such a strict character limit
Personally I used the exact number of characters with the links and such
13:41
hah well done!
you can get a feel of how many people have voted (and spy on who has voted) by checking the badge history page graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/help/badges/82
you were the 2nd to vote, Vincent was the third
hmm well that might not be accurate actually
2nd to get the badge, looks like the first wave of voters all got the badge at the same time stamp
but you're listed 2nd, that's something right
It'll be whatever it is at the end. Not going to obsess over who voted when.
its random. reload it and the order changes
@JohnB thanks!
weird, stays consistent for me
@Ryan hehe, agree :)
I guess that timestamp isn't tracked beyond the seconds figure
Would be so nice if some of these voters actually stuck around and participated
13:49
and... I can't really be third, I was in at 20:28, while the first wave of voters got their badge at 20:08
Be glad they vote :)
I'll do the obsessing for you guys then. I just like to see all the unfamiliar faces of people that are only voting because they got the notification
but yes, if we could activate them a but more.
@JohnB do you mean order of the badge page? Cause I meant order of the nominees
I was surprised to see HostileFork on the first page. Had no clue they were still around
@Ryan ah yeah I was referring to the badge page
13:51
And apparently, Pearson is still lurking :)
The GD for SE voted
Stéphane?
oh wait no wrong Stephan
wow, the co-author of the PNG spec is a member! That's neat
^^ cool :)
@Ryan Abby did vote, though

@Dom I like your ideas listed under "What areas of current moderation do you feel are missing?"
however...
we have very limited control over the FAQ
Dom
Dom
@JohnB I was afraid of that, when reading some of it it seemed like general network wide advice
we can only edit one of the FAQ pages as far as I know, this one
not to say that it's impossible through a , but just wanted to point out that it's not something we can fix with a quick edit

May be something worth making a case for, I think sites that bring in 60k views a day should be able to optimise and adapt their help center to the specific issues in their community
I'm all for it
I'm not familiar with any precedent on another site for creating new or editing the "locked" pages, I'll see if I can find something on MSE or ask in the secret mod chat

I await your findings :) I'll edit my answer to reflect this new info soon
Working on an answer for Scott's colour question at the moment

@JohnB This seems to be close to what we're talking about: meta.stackexchange.com/a/75898/225116
that was before the FAQ was revamped to become the "help center", but the philosophy is the same I'm sure
Dom

Perhaps rather than changing the existing content, they could just add a site-specific FAQ section above the general section
It would need a bit of thought for a feature request, but I'd be up for it because the help section is ..not as helpful as it could be.

@Woodface: We could customize that page per site, but since the rolling ban is active on all sites, it would be more efficient to fix the page for everyone. I've changed the word "code" to "details". Does that work? — Jon Ericson ♦ Mar 12 at 0:14
As Daniel pointed out, I've already made a slight edit to include a link to your community-generated "how to ask a good question" page. If you want more substantial changes, please make a more specific proposal (maybe as an answer). I'd be happy to replace the image, too, if someone who's handy with an image editor wants to basically recreate what's already there with a Math SE screenshot as the base image. — Pops ♦ Mar 12 at 3:34

@JohnB What base image is Pops referring to?
Dom
Dom
Ok I see, do you think it would be best to make it a GD specific request or general network wide?
Lots of new faces around for the election :)
probably GD specific

Yeah that makes sense, I just think it's something a lot of sites should go for, but that's up to them

@JohnB I've just realised it would create some confusion, because we have FAQs/help topics as meta posts as well. Maybe it's easier to make the single editable page into a contents page that points to all of our Meta FAQs?
Although the different page structure does make them look more official than a normal meta post might look, and it would be buried behind 2 links

I need the book on tape version of the questionnaire answers :) And where are Mohammad's?
