Closed Reopened Closed by mod
This simple question with a short standard answer was asked recently and answered. It is a natural assumption that it would have been asked before, so it was closed by someone with the privilege to single-handidly do so. However nobody involved in this dispute has b...
@ArcticChar Only D10 remains, with 2 delete votes. Cheers!
@TeresaLisbon Just heads up; I've long ago explained the following to @user21820. I, like you, and many others, make use of the review queues. That often takes 18-20 close votes, not to mention close votes I make in "low quality posts", etc. Plus, the mod tools of posts in need of closure. Wrt requests to close, while I have no problem with you focusing on posts to close in this room, I can't do the reviewing I do if I were to answer everyone's close requests here.
@Teresa Just explaining why I cannot afford the votes to satisfy all close requests in this chatroom; it says nothing about my thoughts of the requests. They are almost always, without exception, spot on requests. I am much better able to handle delete requests. I say this not to discourage your lists, but just to explain why I can participate only for one or two or maybe three such requests.
@amWhy Thanks! I generally put up quite undebatable posts here : basically because I wouldn't like to court any kind of controversy by closing borderline posts. I usually choose PSQs, normally those which are even likely dupes. The only thing preventing closure is serious improvement, which rarely happens. This means that my requests usually don't come under debate, so they get closed quite quickly. Thanks for the information, though. I understand.
I do close some borderline posts (and leave some open, of course) : but I don't put those up on CURED because I prefer if people are able to run through the requests here than deliberate over each one of them at length : these posts are larger in number than the borderline ones, I'd say.
@TeresaLisbon No doubt, I understand that your requests are uncontestable. And I'm not deterring you. I just wanted to make clear, that while I have delete votes to spare, I have little wiggle room wrt Close votes, and not to take my absence from closing many posts from this room is not at all personal.
You're doing fine here. I have no complaints; just trying to explain my reluctance to expend too many close votes here, given the many requests from all of us.
@amWhy I don't see who closes my posts, so I don't take it personally. You can be assured of the same, so don't worry. Thanks for the additional information. I was pretty sure what I was doing was right anyway : even I don't have much space for close votes after a run through on CURED and review queues (usually), although I expend most of my votes on questions that appear in the "newest" queue, so as to push them into the close queue quickly.
Thanks, @JoséCarlosSantos I've added my close votes. And in particular, this question and its answer is above and beyond even our moderators' competencies. Given the precarious position of the OP at this point, I flagged the post for mod attention. SE staff is trained to deal with such situations, better than are site mods. And SE provides referrals, when appropriate. But a mod will likely have to
...escalate the post for CMs' attention.
Ideally a CM will reach out sooner rather than later. But ultimately the post and answer are off topic. @quid? Are you around? The post I link above is more important than anything else I've said today!
