@ArcticChar There is no much I can do until it question is closed. He has even written to me complaining about downvotes when I have not taken any actions but to vote for closing. In my opinion, the question is a duplicate: changing $(a, a+1)$ for $[a,a+1)$ is does not constitute a major difference. But then again, It is just my opinion.
math.stackexchange.com/q/4140570/357390 here's something. Undetermined coefficent duplicate? (Please use the second duplicate in the comments I posted, not the first.)
Closed obvious duplicate under directions of quid in the EoQS post, one can flag answers to obviously duplicate questions, hence I'm putting this up for anybody to flag if required (I did).
(Note : by obvious duplicates two lines above , I mean those that can be searched out using the MSE search box, the primitive facility. For example, searching for : index of center of group cannot be prime , throws up the duplicate first!).
@soupless Gone. Do you have links to them, @MartinR? I voted to delete the post soupless mentioned, to delete it, but I did not catch the username of the answerer.
This pure PSQ got undeleted recently by users who don't care about the standards for site quality. Question and answers were ridiculously upvoted as well.
@soupless That's fine to skip posts. I do that a lot. But we cannot afford the time you expect from us to tell you what move to make for each and every potential action you might want to make.
I greet everyone. Should I delete my answer ? I have deletion votes and downvotes. If my answer is against the quality standard of the site, please explicitly say that "you should delete it." Thanks.
@lonestudent Think, before you post. As I've already said, we don't have the time to check on all your answers, each time you answer, and then ask whether you should have. You already know site policy. Do not ask permission to post an answer, after you've already posted it. You clearly decided to answer it. Deal with the consequences.
@lonestudent Only one downvote, and I see no delete vote. 3 net score. We don't have the time to coach you on every single question you ask, nor every single answer you post.
@XanderHenderson I don't know, but if you are speaking to me, it doesn't matter, because the question is a PSQ, and should not have been answered.
@amWhy It should not have been answered, but if there is a duplicate question, I ccan merge the answers. This is not so much a questioin for you (if you don't want to waste yoru time lookinig for dupes, np), but a questioni for those who want the questioni undeleted.
@amWhy It was a stray thought that popped iinito my headd, whiile rrespoonding to you, whiile trying to get gradding finiishedd. And there aer plenty of "incclusiionisiists" who lurk here.
@amWhy Hi, I have to do some non-MSE related work today so I did the crawl early and came back to the site only to write one answer and then disappear again. I think I'll be busy for some days but not busy enough to stop doing what I basically need to do here : the crawl and going through the avalanches.
@lonestudent Prioritise what the question asks over what you want to say : you wrote the verification of the OP's proof as well, but mention it FIRST , so we know you are answering the question. Then, mention your proof (or any additional things). Else I don't see an issue.
@amWhy (google translate) Your attitude is not understandable. I've only asked 2 questions so far. Anyone who listens to you from afar might think as if I send you 1000 questions every day. On the other hand, tens of questions are sent to this room every day. I was confused and wanted to ask. If there is something wrong, please, stop making the pricking/sarcastic(google translate) comment. I don't have to put up with you. I have 2 deletion votes. 1 down votes. Is that the problem?
@amWhy Didn't you say it yourself already? Because you have a upvotes? That's exactly why. Despite the upvotes, I said that if my answer was against the quality standard of the site, I would delete it. Maybe my account may be suspended after harsh (Googe translate) comment. But I don't see any real reason for this. Finally, you do not answer all the questions asked here. Therefore, you are not entitled to declare everyone's opinion on behalf of everyone here. Let everybody ask ....
@lonestudent You translated incorrectly. Besides, every person on this site should know not to dominate threads with incessant pleas for help, or with questions, on meta, nor in any chat room. No matter what we answer, you come back with three more questions, or with links to your posts, which might look like seeking attention for more upvotes.
@amWhy Let everybody ask their free question and express their opinion. I would expect you to simply say "delete". It shouldn't be that hard to say this.I myself am posting low quality questions here too. I am trying to help new users. Not as much as you do, of course. Anyway, I wish you a good day. Have peace.
@lonestudent Not by dominating threads, as you have been doing. It is not my place to "tell you what to do". You need to develop critical thinking skills to determine when, and when not, it might be appropriate to answer. That's what freedom is about: allowing users to decide, and suffer any consequences as a result. Google translate is a poor medium for communication.
@lonestudent there is no decisive algorithm to rely on to get a "yes answer", or "no, don't answer".
@lonestudent I will not interact here with you any further.
@lonestudent Your recent questions seem very good. Thanks for working on them. Please use your questions as a model to compare to poor questions, which should not be answered. I know you've done a lot of work, more than many users, to try to get things right. I did not mean to offend you, though you sound to me like you are offended. That is a language issue, most likely, and as helpful as Google translate can me, it operates without information of the context of text being translated.
@amWhy Just for clarification : quid mentioned on EoQS that duplicate answers (especially obvious ones) can be flagged and sent for mod intervention as well, in particular if there is a pattern. I'll keep track of this and let you know if any patterns develop, because IMO when it comes to the basic tags, we have a few candidates that we'll have to track.
Bill mentioned on the EoQS page, that duplicate answering also deserves some attention. Perhaps I will try to put some efforts into duplicate answering machines as well.
Is there really nobody in (pre)calculus land that handles dupes of FAQs like summing a geometric series? That should be closed and deleted, but I'm not the best to judge a good dupe target since i don't keep up on those topics.
@TeresaLisbon Ohh, no problem. Yes, I agree that answerers, particularly high rep users that know better, but answer dupes rather than vote to close them as dupes, needs attention.
@copper.hat No problem, maybe I got you wrong. You answered. Annoying comment has been added to your answer. And your answer has been downvoted. Isn't that the case?
@copper.hat I deleted my comment. But I mentioned some points there. This was the example in the comment I deleted. After posting a question here, my 3 best answers have been downvoted And one of the people in the room did that. I mean, there are a lot of annoying comments and a lot of people. Never mind. So what would you do if you got downvotes on your best answer? There are many people who deliberately downvotes.
@copper.hat That's all I want to say. Have a nice day.
