So far six out of all your eight posts have been problem-statement questions, and this is not the first time that you've been reminded to include contexts and efforts. See How to ask a good question. — Saad 4 mins ago

I’m voting to close this question because it does not readily admit an authoritative answer–the answers are a matter of opinion. It also appears that the asker is interested in the use of notation in an educational setting, in which case Mathematics Educators might be a better fit. In any event, I don't think that this question is particularly well suited for this site. — Xander Henderson 1 min ago
@Saad What is the procedure by which you are selecting questions to nominate for deletion / closure?
For the record, the questions that I mention here are those that I encounter in my usual browsing of the site (e.g. via queues, the HNQ, clicking on posts with interesting titles, and by following certain tags).
My recollection is that @user21820 searches for short posts, then posts a selection of those which are particularly egregious.

@XanderHenderson Usually when I review the queue for close votes, I'd pay extra attention to low-quality questions that have accumulated too many scores for the questions themselves and their answers, then dig into the askers' profiles to see if there're any LQ posts to be closed and any closed posts to be deleted.
Another source is the daily cruising of new posts.

@AlexanderGruber looking over the code, it would seem that what you want would be achieved by adding a MathBlackListParser in BlackListParsers.py and possibly one or more MathBlackList.txt files that contain the things that need to be searched for. Doing it that way should mean that it can be submitted to the main SmokeDetector, but could be left turned-off for sites that have no interest in/use for it

@postmortes OK cool, I think you're right.
I forked it.
It will take me a little while to understand this code I think. Maybe the first step is just to get it running.

@ThomasShelby It's likely that all these users are taking the same course and the question comes from an assignment. But instead of revealing the issue here in this room, it would be better to flag one of those posts as “in need of moderator intervention” with explanation, or even better to ask a meta question to raise the community's attention.
I'm afraid there's little that mods can do about this unless this is an instance of collective/conincidental plagiarism.

Q: Which given expression is equivalent to $\sin (-2x)$?

KumaWhich given expression is equivalent to $\sin (-2x)$? a) $-2\sin(x)\cos(x)$ b) $-2\sin(-x)\cos(-x)$ c) $\phantom{-}2\sin(-x)\cos(-x)$

PSQs, most of which don't even have 150 characters, are launching an onslaught during this hour by taking half of the first page of new posts.

@ThomasShelby Thanks for posting here! :-)

@Saad All are gone.

@Xander Henderson I don't want to polemicate. I think my answer is "as it is" with a "disclaimer" in bold letters right at the beginning ; it has, besides, the small interest to spread the information about the existence of these pure mathematical jewels $\mathbb{Z_p}$ and $\mathbb{Q_p}$ (and all the mathematical objects that one can build out of them) constructed by a "tour de force" combining abstract algebraic and topological tools. — Jean Marie 2 hours ago

Doctor @AlexanderGruber, can we try and treat the close vote queue so it doesn't top 600 today? And Doctor @quid ... Time for some intensive care!
But, @quid You'll have to put a face mask on, first! :-)

@amWhy well, where will I find such a mask.

@quid Use a bandana, I don't care! (Note @AlexanderGruber's face-mask on his avatar - but as we are on-line, I think triage won't require you add one to your avatar!)
Anyway, I hope the world doesn't end when we top 600 questions in the close queue, or later, at the rate we're going, 1000. Though it kind of defeats the purpose of close votes.

@AlexanderGruber I love it!!

@AlexanderGruber thanks. I guess I have no more excuses now.

@AlexanderGruber can't be too safe!
@amWhy Do you sanitize your keyboard regularly? Maybe a spray nozzle in your gravatar...

@robjohn Ahh... you must not have noticed that the "question mark" ? is incognito as a spray nozzle to sanitize the keyboard?? :-)

Q: Tips on How to Study Mathematics

Omar SHello everyone and please bear with me as I am relatively new to this website and its policies.. So I don't actually know if this is the appropriate place to ask such a question or reach out for help..? Anyway, I figured that this place would offer a great diversity of experienced individuals in ...

We should make a proposal to call this Covid Bash 2020, where instead of hats we get masks?

@skullpatrol Hilarious! I was thinking of that earlier, too!

:-D

Thanks to @quid and @AlexanderGruber for assisting with closing questions today!! (applause, applause). Seriously. Thanks!
