I don't peruse the linear algebra questions - try the top users. In my tags I insert keywords , links, etc to make such searches much easier. I don't know if anyone is working on organizing linear algebra.
@JoséCarlosSantos seems to be the only linear algebra top-user who is active here.
@JoséCarlosSantos @user @BillDubuque In your recent discussion you have touched a theme that is a sore point of mine. I think the site would work better, if high rep users (includes us all) would show some restraint in answering FAQs (or google/WA lookups). Doing so inevitably creates an impression of picking low hanging fruits. I hope to elaborate on this some time soon (don't know when) in meta. A discussion (if any) may or may not clear some air.
More users are involved, so I think it is best to have it in meta.
I acknowledge that we all have a point were an enticing enough question makes us answer first and look for duplicates later. I call this "nerd sniping"-questions (search for the XKCD strip). I have been caught myself.
So in this case we close the older one as a duplicate of the newer question? (And possibly merge them, if the answers on the older one look good enough to be preserved?)
@TheGreatDuck It was deleted by the asker before it was answered. If you think it is a good question which should be included on the site, post it yourself.
@XanderHenderson With respect to this question, I think that it should be closed and deleted as unclear, but I would be willing to adopt the compromise position that it be closed, but left undeleted if opposing parties can be brought on board.
@MarkMcClure Honestly, this is my biggest objection to the question. The asker asked an unclear question, then essentially disappeared. I am not sure that I know how to edit the question in order to clarify it. Though, I suppose, one could edit it to make your answer make sense...
@XanderHenderson original question didn’t seem unclear at all to me. What was unclear? It seemed pretty cut and dry.
Talking about the snowflake question.
@XanderHenderson I was writing an answer and they deleted their post before I hit send. They wasted my time writing an answer. I have the right to demand they do not do that and I have a right to be ticked and annoyed! Surely if someone casts undelete votes it can be involuntary undeleted?
@TheGreatDuck If it is clear, then what is the answer to the question I posted? What are the six self-similar pieces which decompose the snowflake? Is the asker asking about the boundary of the snowflake? the von Koch curve (i.e. 1/3 of the boundary)? or the solid snowflake?
@TheGreatDuck You have the right to feel however you like. However, the asker is well within their rights to delete any question they have asked, just so long as it hasn't met certain criteria (e.g. no upvoted answers).
Getting upset about someone unknowingly "wasting" your time seems counterproductive.
As much as I detest PSQs, I find it even worse when they try to squeeze the full question into the title. case in point: math.stackexchange.com/q/3456344/137524

(I also find it pretty disturbing to see PSQs for measure theory questions.)
@Semiclassical And look! The classification of "PSQ" applies equally well to questions at an advanced undergraduate or even graduate level! I should start a list of such questions so that when people object that "'PSQ' is just code for 'low-level', and site is supposed to be for mathematics at all levels!", I can reply with high-level PSQs.
