@user334732 Many of your comments lead me to believe that you think that that many of the folk who frequent CRUDE are inclined to close questions that are of "too low a level."

Indeed, the question you highlight is an example of a PSQ at a higher level.

@XanderHenderson Before I mentioned it, it had two answers, 20ish upvotes among the answers and no close votes, including an answer from rschweib who uses this room. But once i mentioned it, it was closed. But I don't think you all jumped to close it in the same way as you would a low rep newcomer with a school-level question. It looks more like it was closed as a reaction to my comment so as not to be hypocritical.

But I think it's a case in point that what ought to be closed is not so cut and dried. I think it could be a useful question and I'd prefer it was kept.

But then there really is nothing that could be added to it to make it other than a PSQ, as it is such a simple question.

A more friendly interpretation is that the users who voted to close didn't notice the question until you posted it here.

@MikeMiller I should assume good intent. But my original point wasn't to point out hypocrisy. I genuinely intended to ask a) how can we keep this question and b) if we can do so, what does that tell us about the rules?

@XanderHenderson no, just: primarily- is there no way to keep questions like this? And secondarily, as you raise the fact it's now been closed, it did seem to have been received particularly well for a psq until I mentioned it. But you say that's an illusion so I will take your word for it.

@user334732 Poor question often end up on the HNQ and get "well received." I find that the number of upvotes often correlates poorly to the quality of a question.

See, for example, the batman question, which is one of the most "well received" questions on MSE.

As to the question of "Is there a way to keep questions like this?"... Why? Why should we want to?
