@amWhy I guess the nicely collated list in that post is up for review too! =)
@MikePierce Hmm I still am quite undecided on questions that comprise solely of images but otherwise have sufficient context (the asker added his work in the form of imgur links)...
@Holo Stick around long enough and you will see the whole gamut of fruit and nut mix. Such as here and here.
@user21820 oh wooha, I'm not sure how to respond to those 2... I can't even completely understand the first one, does OP regards about the ratio of non-intager to integers?
@user21820 Yeah, so that one isn't off-topic for missing context anymore. A lawyer could argue that it's now "unclear what they're asking," since you have to click some links to see their work, so its not immediately clear what they've done :P .
But yeah, I usually jump on image-only posts. Like, if a new user browses this site for even a second, they can see that there's a way to typeset math here. And then the fact that they don't bother to (or try to) comes across as rude and "low-effort," which honestly get's to me more than a lack of context.
@XanderHenderson I'm tempted to take the whip! No, really, there is ultimately no protection of users who are targeted on this site. It seems moderator "powers" are pretty lame. So much so that they leave users like Zach and me out to dry, isn't that right, @DanielFischer?
When things get complicated, it seems they all shrug their shoulders, and reply, "there's nothing to be done." I don't buy that.
@DanielFischer One or two users who each downvote my answers from multiple accounts. The problem is, I don't know who the Lion(s) are. quid has looked into it. I trust he did what he could. I've received 12 downvotes since the 13th. Seven on one day, 6 of which were reversed. Today, three downvotes, carefully spread apart in time. I know the mods are limited, but I really do find being targeted chronically via downvotes, when I answer few questions, disheartening.
@amWhy Sadly, we can also see those lions only rarely. Voting data is for good reasons pretty private, but that means that also serial voting is hidden from us a lot. And before we can do anything, we must know that there is something going on, and who is involved. So many situations that would merit some action don't get it because we don't know whom to address.
@DanielFischer I know... It seems that the account responsible for downvotes that were reversed on Thursday, hadn't been used in four months, hence a suspicion that at least one user, operating from different accounts, is involved. Who knows? Maybe it is our "regular" who serially creates accounts, serially upvotes poor questions, and serially answers poor questions in comments, and one-by-one, loses them for nefarious reasons, at which point they create another account or two or three.
@DanielFischer I was half joking, because I know that person I referred: (serially^4), creates multiple accounts. But glad to know there is some shoveling going on, which I know @quid has spent time doing...
Two accounts involved today (and likely earlier than today). Just received a fourth downvote: two downvotes today on each of two answers. @DanielFischer, @quid.
@XanderHenderson I think they can see "recently deleted" questions; but I can't say with certainty. This is when I think having an exemplar account at under, say 150 rep, would be helpful to keep me in touch with what newerish users have available. Maybe @DanielFischer or @quid or @Asaf or ... can provide "the final answer".
"Thus speaketh the Lo... err ... the moderator @DanielFischer"
@XanderHenderson As an ad hoc, if this more immediately concerns a question very recently discussed in meta, and has since been deleted, they can find the link there in that meta post from yesterday.
Shame on me! I forgot to include @MartinSleziak in my confirmation list; he is the wizard who can find nearly anything about anything! Thanks, @MartinSleziak
@XanderHenderson Actually, I was responding only to include another ping to @SimplyBeautifulArt, that's all. Oops, now I had to edit this comment, too!
As it is later for Simply than it is for me, and for you, @XanderHenderson , perhaps we should let him relax, without noise pollution, for this Saturday evening!
I have to say, my fingers are typically on auto-pilot, and when replying to, or talking about, someone, they sometimes take over with the SE-induced habit of pinging!
Of course, just now, I was also "teasing"... Can I see a faint smile instead of the grim ._. ?
