Q: Come Take a Look at our New Contributor Indicator!

Tim PostWe've been doing quite a bit of research into ways that we could help new users have better experiences that ultimately lead them to becoming increasingly valuable, long-term contributors to our sites. While this is still ongoing, it's starting to blossom in the form of small but hopefully very e...

@user170039 Yes, and? Is there some (on-topic) discussion that you are trying to start by linking to that question? Is there a point that you are trying to make? If not, why is that topic relevant to CRUDE?

@quid o/
(oops, your identicon was "brighter" that its appearance upon my wave, @quid.)
Sorry to disturb you, @quid !

Hello @amWhy Sorry for the delay, I had to attend to some dirty things first.
For a change actual dirt, not SE dirt.

@quid Oh... no worries; I never felt delayed!
@quid hehehehe Good one!
You replied pretty much only 10 or so minutes after my (multiply) pinging you. Note, the multiple pings were just edits, and me trying to annoy you! ;P

8:52 PM
I heard them from a distance. But anyway I am very disappointed. Somebody (I'll gracefully forget who) promised me I'd wake up to 61 notifications. And guess what? there was none. Nothing. What's that. ;D

@quid Ummm, errrr, hmmmm, ahhhh, just wait, each passing day adds to the total notifications to expect!!
@quid I feel kind of bad about the confrontation with reality for the asker, which may have felt "brutal" to the asker on meta here. I was sincerely not trying to be snarky, just honest in my comments. The answer is rather snarky.
...but the answer is, in its own way, honest. I meant what I said, if the user was a highschool student. But if it is an undergraduate math major, looking for +'s to add to their resume upon graduation, then my comment could have been taken to be a "low blow".

9:08 PM
@amWhy I think it's alright. It could have been more supportive but it was not that bad. I mean 400 is really just not that much.

@quid I agree; especially since the majority of their points came from asking what likely became a HNQ.

HNQ?

I just hesitate, because in my generation, one always weighs what and how to say something so as to be the most supportive, where the current generation, on the internet anyway, seems to follow a "I'll say what I think, and if you don't like it, too bad for you" pattern.
@Holo Hot Network Question: they appear in the right column of the main pages for questions. Popular questions from various sites on the SE network are displayed, site wide.
@Holo Take a look at the lower half of the right column here. You'll see a list of questions below the header "Hot Network Questions". You can even click on that header, which will bring you here, where you can find the full list.

I see, thanks @amWhy
Also, I believe that even if all the 400 were from answers it won't be so much(but better), also my 4k is not that much

9:24 PM
@Holo You've got 10 times the 400 rep from a user here over two years now. Your 4k rep, given one year here, is nothing to sneeze at!

@amWhy thank you for the compliment! But I still don't think I will put it on my resume $\ddot\smile$

I might put MSE activity on my CV in applications to teaching institutions, but almost certainly not...

10:01 PM
Consider for closure. It reads to me like a "prove this for me" expectation.
Hi @Mark3264 !!

@Holo indeed.
