A: Examples of poor review audits

SaadI failed this audit today: Is $x_1^2+x_2^2+\ldots+x_{2020}^2=-1$ solvable in $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt[3]{2}\zeta_3)$? This post is a standard example of problem-statement questions with no context such as what the OP has tried and where the question comes from, yet it received 5 up votes and was p...

Q: Say, hypothetically, there were 4 seconds in 1 minute instead of 60 seconds. How many seconds would 24 hours (1 day) be?

Samuel AntonovLet 1 minute = 4 seconds. Let 1 hour = 60 minutes. Let 1 day = 24 Hours. How many seconds would be in 1 day?

An outburst of 'pity upvotes' popping up (on questions and answers)... all because of one outrageous comment.

A good cath @KReiser.

@JyrkiLahtonen A good cath is better than a bad cath, but I would prefer not to be cathed at all. Fortunately, my bladder and kidneys all work fine.

@Shaun What context?

@XanderHenderson That the OP has tried division by $\cos x$, etc.

Honestly, that division makes the question less clear to me. Their reference to wxMaxima makes it appear that they want a numerical solution; the algebraic steps seem to contradict that interpretation. I don't think that the nature of the answer expected is at all clear.

@JyrkiLahtonen Funnily enough I originally found out because someone posted an answer pointing out the source, and that answer ended up in a review queue as "not an answer".

A: Is CRUDE healthy?

Mr.MathoUnfortunately, this unhealthy nature of CRUDE (now named CURED) still seems to continue to this day. After monitoring the chatroom for some time, I have observed that one of the biggest problems is CRUDE users often calling others in the chatroom to add downvotes or close votes to a question that...

@RithikKapoor Curiously I had not even seen that post. I now voted and it is at 0 now. :-) Irespective to this, there are several issue with the idea of this post, leaving aside the inconclusive nature of the vote. Anyway, please, do not stir up controversy here.

@quid Indeed, they don't even have a valid account on math.se anymore.
Or else they've changed their name only on math.se to Mr.Matho, lol

11:13 PM
@RithikKapoor the argument was that you do not even seem to be active on the site you express concern about.

@quid the votes speak for themselves not my name. I have decided to start a new thread for users to vote and hopefully more of them will be able to participate than this post. Maybe then you would accept the result that the community doesn't want you guys anymore acting for them?

@RithikKapoor Your post has a negative vote count. You're hardly in a position to know what the community wants, given you are a new account with no activity.

@amWhy at the end of the month it was positive (note that the vote was till the end of the month)

It's not about the name per se. It seems what happened is that a dead link in your chat profile gave the impression that you do not have an account on math.se anymore. On second look one then can assume, given the identical image that you in fact are the user that asked on meta. Whence the above remarks, I assume.
@RithikKapoor the vote is irrelevant. If you do not wish to contribute to the purpose of the room, please, leave.

I have nothing more to say to you guys

@RithikKapoor We're not all guys. And stop demonizing users here. That goes against the code of conduct. You, after all, are a user here. So what you say about users here applies to you, too.

@RithikKapoor one should note that the room actually creates a certain additional transparency. If there were no chat, likely users would just go by the questions on the list of posts with delete or close votes that the software provides.

@RithikKapoor Oh, I am so looking forward to your mansplaination!

@RithikKapoor that's a well-known issue, and certainly @amWhy is not unaware that some think or pretend that it is gender-neutral. When a user tells one they do not want to be subsumed under "guys," one accepts it and does not start a debate over it.

Either way, as you said that you have nothing more to say, I invite you to leave.

@quid lol why would someone start a debate on such a small thing anyways?

11:45 PM
@Mathphile don't know. You'd need to ask Rithik, but better not here.
