@XanderHenderson Don't worry. I just cast a closure vote.
For closure: κ1, κ2

1:20 AM
@AlexFrancisco I cannot vote on either, as I have already done so.

2:08 AM
PSQs: κ1, κ2

2:38 AM
Is this a PSQ or not?

It's just confused. Here is a question. But wait, I have the answer! But, I can't solve it!
I would close it for context, but it is also a dup of math.stackexchange.com/questions/193001/…
which is also a PSQ :(

This answer is wrong, as can be seen and checked from the comments. However, it got 2 upvotes and only 1 downvote (mine). Please, check that it is wrong and, if you agree with me, downvote it and, when and if that becomes possible, vote to delete it.

This user refuses to use MathJax, instead posting PS's as images, despite being told to do so multiple times. I had flagged for moderator intervention 1-2 weeks ago, but apparently, nothing happened. Can we possibly do something about this?

@AlexFrancisco It is pretty borderline.
BUT it mentions the Assouad dimension, which is something that almost noöne has ever heard of, and was the topic of my masters thesis, which really makes me want to think about that question.

12:41 PM
@XanderHenderson I was wondering why a trigonometric problem has something to do with a never-heard-of dimension until I found that you meant the question above the one you replied to :)

1:10 PM
Oh, shoot. @AlexFrancisco
Heh.

1:33 PM
So this PSQ has been reopened simply because the OP added that it was from an exam??

@AlexFrancisco That's weird. But I voted to close it once again.

@JoséCarlosSantos Thanks you. But I'm wondering why you can vote on this post again since I'm informed by the system that I voted 13 hours ago and all options are blocked now…

@AlexFrancisco When I wrote “I voted to close it once again”, the “once again” was about the question. It is the first time that I vote to close it.

@JoséCarlosSantos Got it. I thought it's a privilege of high-rep users.

Q: Can a countably infinite torsion group exist in which the density of squares is double the density of non-squares?

Robert Frost Can a countably infinite torsion group exist in which the density of squares is double the density of non squares? By $x\in G$ being a square I simply mean there exists $y\in G$ satisfying $y\cdot y=x$ Does the question have different answers if we assume the group to be finitely, or infini...

d1, d2, d3.

@user21820 and others: The question I last linked about RH disproof is now open for deletion. The post was closed with quid's help.

@XanderHenderson Yikes; I can't vote to close again, but it certainly ought to be closed again, and then deleted!

Yup.
I am in the same boat. I voted to re-delete two hours ago, but it has been reopened in the meantime.

@user21820 I have already voted to delete questions d2 and d3. However, for reasons that I explained here, I am against deleting a question just because it is a duplicate.

5:11 PM
@JoséCarlosSantos Is anyone arguing that d1 should be deleted just because it is a duplicate? I would argue that it should be deleted because it is a poor question...
2

@XanderHenderson That's a good argument. Then what do you think about the original question? In my opinion, it's as good (or as bad) as the duplicate one.

@JoséCarlosSantos The question d1 is a very poor question, likely composed on the fly, and has been incredibly, abusively, upvoted, despite the fact it is crap. It was likely initially voted closed due to the fact it is, in fact, a duplicate, and voting to close as a duplicate, when it is in fact a duplicate, is usually the most expedient way to close it ...
to help prevent even more irresponsible answers than it already received. "Being closed as a dupe" $\neq$ "Should never be deleted, ever, never ever!!" ...

@XanderHenderson By the way, did you notice that I am the only user who voted to close both of them? Not that it matters a lot.

@user21820 d2, d3 gone.

5:21 PM
@JoséCarlosSantos The original cannot be deleted until the later duplicate is deleted. So that is even more reason to delete d1, since it is a really lousy question.

@user21820 I agree. So, it's not just because it was a duplicate. I agree that both of them should be deleted.

@JoséCarlosSantos Unfortunately, what we run into, is that the first cannot be deleted, so long as a post duplicating it exists. So the "target duplicate/original" is closed, but cannot be deleted, unless the duplicating post, d1, is deleted first. That's just a matter of fact due to the soft-ware. I agree that both d1, and the post of which d1 is a duplicate, ought to be deleted as very poor questions.
The only way that can happen, due to the site's (SE's) software, is to delete d1 first, and then the original question can be deleted as well.
Oops, I just pretty much said what @user21820 said! Sorry for repetition.

Haha anyway I've got to go already. See you all! =)

@user21820 Take care! We've been kind of "missing" on another, due to different activity bursts! CU!

5:37 PM
@JoséCarlosSantos I agree, the original question is quite terrible, too.
I think they should both be deleted.
And I cannot be sure that I ever saw the dupe target---if I saw the newer question, I almost certainly would have voted to close it as a no-context PSQ, and would never have seen the dupe target.

So it seems that many are agreed that d1 should be deleted; immediately after it's deletion, we will be free to vote to delete the original precursor to d1.

5:53 PM
If a question that was closed as a duplicate is deleted, and then the dup target is deleted, what happens if the original duplicate is undeleted?

@CarlMummert Then it should get redeleted! (Seriously, in this case, the duplicate is no worse than the original.)

i would agree, I am just wondering if it stays closed as a duplicate

And vice versa

Anyway, with an answer with 100 score, I think it will take 10 delete votes for the duplicate, no?

@CarlMummert 2 more

6:06 PM
Right. I already contributed to that cause, so it's back to waiting

@Holo Thanks!

A perfect "poster child" for an "unclear what you're asking" vote to close: math.stackexchange.com/questions/2937086/…

I'm sorry... what?

Thank you mortals — Irene 7 mins ago
Oh, you are quicker @XanderHenderson

Oops, @XanderHenderson, I suppose I should have just remained silent. Moving my comment to trash, so as not to risk having "insulted?" someone.

@Holo closed I should have said so when I "dupe-hammered" the question.

@amWhy Nice $\Large{}^{\frown}_{~\ddot{}}$

9:27 PM
I have been invited to the trash by @Holo.

How?

Or maybe @amWhy
which comment got deleted?

@amWhy I think

Yes, @amWhy
Too many notifications.

I'm sorry about that, @Xander. I deleted a comment/question about whether you noticed or not that pointed out an unclear question, immediately after I had done the same. It was a silly comment, so I deleted it. For some crazy reason, if one deletes a comment to another (technically, moves it to Trash), it seems the addressee of the moved question is notified via an invitation. Again, apologies for the disruption.

9:35 PM
@amWhy Oh, I don't care. I find it funny to be invited to the trash.
I know why it happens, and just larf at the sillyness of software.
And how dumb computers are.
I can't fathom why...

@XanderHenderson One more delete vote to go.

@XanderHenderson What question? :p

10:17 PM
YIKES! I cast my last close vote for today! I feel ... disarmed!

10:38 PM
@amWhy So now would be a good time to challenge you to a a duel!
EN GARDE!

10:50 PM
@XanderHenderson I still have down/upvotes and delete votes, so I'll improvise!
