@amWhy @AmWhy: Since my participation level on Math.SE has been relatively low until recently, I am not that familiar with procedures and protocols. What do you mean by "request access"? If I have been doing so it was inadvertent. Thank you.

@RRL The room was recently changed to "Gallery Mode", which means that only people with permission to comment can comment.
@amWhy Way informing you that you have such permission (I think). Since you can comment, you clearly have that permission. ;)

@RRL No problem. I've recently made the room "gallery/private" meaning to participate by commenting, users who aren't already granted access need to request access. So I wanted to assure you that I had already granted you access.

Ok - great - thank you for that.

I think the pin on Lord_Farin's comment with the search link is about to expire. So I'm reposting it for convenience : Old questions with no accepted answers and negative score.

Didn't some time ago somebody post here also a query with questions which are closed as duplicates and the duplicate target is closed? Maybe it was in a different room - I was unable to find it.

2:39 PM
@MartinSleziak I remember that discussion, I think. That was a while back, though...
Pretty sure it was this room.

@XanderHenderson I probably mixed it up with duplicates of deleted questions. When looking at SEDE queries posted in this room, I see two queries mentioned there: data.stackexchange.com/math/query/209965/… and data.stackexchange.com/math/query/237864/…

4:45 PM
Here is a rather naive query to find question where the duplicate target is closed: data.stackexchange.com/math/query/945116/… A query for posts where the duplicate target is closed for reason other than duplicate would be more useful, but making such query would probably need more time.
Sorry for the digression.

@Lord_Farin Thanks! I was thinking about using second select and "difference" - for some reason I thought that this would be rather slow.

@AlexanderGruber. Thanks for bountying my question. I appreciate it.

@Mason no problem-- hope it gets an answer

Were you alerted to it by the flag I raised?
I flagged it to suggest maybe reopening on MO. And just wanted clarification because I thought that maybe I should self delete and reopen on MO. But I will need to be patient until atleast your bounty runs through.
@AlexanderGruber

@Mason Yeah that's how I came across it

Also... when someone places bounty on your question... The system does not alert you? That seems a little bizarre.
Well... I guess I will ask again in a week if there are still no answers if you think this is an MO worthy post and whether it needs clarifying or altering before I post it there.

@Mason yeah i agree, this is my intention with the flag
to me it seems like it's a good question for MSE, but hasn't got enough attention, so the bounty should help
if it turns out nobody answers then maybe it is better for MO; in that case, I'll migrate it.

Very good. Self delete is not the route for this type of thing.

9:38 PM
@AlexanderGruber. It seems that the idea was well received on the main meta
But nothing has come of it.

This question is closed and potentially on its way to deletion. The OP neglected the basic rules for asking a good question (despite >4K rep) in posting what is otherwise a very good question attracting a very good accepted answer. What should really be deleted is the second incorrect answer that continues to attract upvotes possibly through the inappropriate posturing of the user who answered.
