Regular Dawn Platinum is also not bad but the powerwash version takes noticeably less scrubbing

@Sam7919 Well Isopropanol is also used as disinfectant, but at 70%, which is apparently better at killing germs. It's sold as "sterilium". Regular alcohol, ethanol, was also used during the pandemic but it's less effective. And it's also not as good as a degreaser. And it's also expensive due to alcohol taxes

@Sam7919 It exists, I started waxing with them. The only drawback compared to lube is that you need to let them dry after application. So it's not a thing to do before a ride, but can be done the evening before for example.

@MaplePanda That's probably a result of having a very long tail to increase stability. Those old road cruisers were more similar to gravel bikes than to modern road bikes. But they didn't have big tyres though

And the long chain/seat stays added suspension 😄

With that seattube angle, you'd also have weight distribution issues if chainstays were shorter (that doesn't explain why though)

@Michael What about fleece tights? I find when its really cold, I need a wind proof layer on the outside plus some warm layer, like merino or fleece or sometimes polypropylene

Sounds counterintuitive, but wrapping your legs helps keep your feet warm

the thermo windstopper bib tights do have a fleece inside

but for me it only works down to -5°C or so

at least with the Gorewear C5 I have

the Assos MILLE GT Ultraz Winter Bib Tights are supposed to be super warm but somehow are not even as warm as the Gorewear C5

maybe it’s because I got them in size S, so they are stretched pretty thin

@Criggie that may be a wrong front edge of the seat or ever a wrong distance to the 'bottom bracket' rather than a general recumbent effect.

@Michael When I'm riding and it's that cold I find the windstop flocked tights aren't enough; I need to put on a goretex outer layer to actually keep the wind off.

@Willeke Nope - definitely caused by going up a steep hill. I was down to 4 km/h at multiple points
