For a city / commuting bike any hub dynamo will do. There differences only matter for long-distance touring / randonneuring

On my commuter I always ride with the lights on because of bad drivers, and it's just so convenient to just ride, no faffing around with the lights.

Most commuter bikes here are sold with hub dynamos, even some gravel bikes have them

Also important for kids bikes, as kids are too chaotic to keep the lights charged. Kids bike light's often don't even have an on/off switch so they can't forget to turn the lights on

More seriously, a utility bike should require the least "care", IMHO, I prefer a dynamo hub and not even have to think about turning the light on or off (it's more sensitive on a bike that is not used regularly).

Indeed the connectors are often terrible sadly. If you store the bike outside the connectors can corrode after a few years

@Michael For the anecdote, current experience with the club: in gravel, punctures are not uncommon, but only with tubes. During road activities, had to wait for a puncture only once, and it was someone with tubeless - who didn't know how to fix it (on a total of 4 rides).

Tubeless punctures can often be (temporarily) fixed by pressing your finger on it 😁

My marathon tyres (with tube) have more punctures than my gravel tyres (tubeless) even though the latter ones are ridden way harder off-road

I’ve had some sidewall cuts on cyclocross tyres in the past from riding in ruts full with sharp gravel

recently I even bought the park tool tyre boots because I might be doing some light gravelling and touring this year (and a single tyre boot is super easy to carry around)

I use the "Rema Tip Top UP 3". They work great, can be used to permanently fix a hole in the tyre, even for tubeless. Application is the same as for regular tube patches, i.e. takes 5min to cure the glue.

Ah yes, pinch flat when remounting the tire of the lazy bike when I tried to convert it to tubeless. The ones before that were when I was in Italy.

Was speaking in my general choices. For city riding, I'm apparently very lucky, but for road for example I'm using gravel semi-slicks, that have an absolute puncture score of 60, while GP4000/GP5000 are between 32 an 52 - depending on the version.

I’ll change to GP5000 (without TR) on the road bike and GP5000AS on the cylocross in a few days

currently still running very worn GP4000s and GP4Season respectively
