Hey, everyone. Do you think vi.SE might be canceled because we are getting around 280 visits/day when Area 51 states "500 visits per day needs some work." ? This has been worrying me

@GonçaloRibeiro it's possible to get a beta closed from no traffic, but really the best thing to do about it is invite all your friends to ask vim questions...
As long as we're making progress, they probably won't close us. Just may take a very long time to get out of beta.

@GonçaloRibeiro First rule of Area 51 statistics: don't pay attention to Area 51 statistics. They were chosen back when Area 51 was starting without any experience to see whether these statistics would be relevant. Despite experience showing that they are in fact poor indicators, their description hasn't been updated.
And even according to the original plan, that statement says that the site needs work. The site isn't even two months old, so it isn't surprising that it needs work. Even the optimistic original plans called for graduation after 3 months, and most sites turned out to need a lot more, often several years.
It's too early to see trends yet. Watch these figures over the coming months.
