@jhabbott then a comment asking for clarification would have been welcomed, not having my question answered in what I felt (and still feel) is a mocking tone. But, like I said, I have found a solution, it is simple, it works and does not involve food items.

Thanks for adding that in. And I do hope you reconsider your decision to giving up on the site.
If nothing else, I intend to put together a meta post and help drive the community's formation as a result. (Woo! a meta post! That'll change everything, I know!!! </self-deprecating-snark>) Engineers are notoriously snarky and pedantic, but that's not an excuse for creating a community that doesn't feel welcoming.
Looking over your research papers, I think you could push the community in a good direction for the types of questions we can address.

From what I recall of defense contractors and their "silent" rooms, they use several layers to attenuate out particular bands. With each layer adding on to the other, it yields an effectively "silent" room from a wireless radiation perspective.

Unfortunately, I don't know how much I'm allowed to disclose about those particular designs. That kind of makes it tough to answer questions. :-(

Q: Engineering.SE manifesto

GlenH7By the fifth day of our private beta, we have publicly lost our first user.1 The summary of their reasoning was that they felt the answers to a question they had asked mocked the premise of what the person was trying to understand or discover. Their feelings of upset were magnified by the respo...

Hi, guys, I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. I just wrote up this answer:

A: Engineering.SE manifesto

HDE 226868In lieu of an answer, I thought I might as well write up an actual manifesto - a sort of unofficial policy that we can agree upon to help guide our site. I'll make it community wiki, so anyone can edit it and add or remove their username at the bottom if they so desire. $$\mathcal{The}\text{ }\m...

Any thoughts?
I'd love for this thing to evolve, and I'd love for people to give some input.
Feel free to sign your usernames on the bottom.
I hope it helps improve the site.
Enjoy your weekend!

StaceyI've been participating in the engineering private beta this week and filled in the form in the sidebar to invite a friend. I was very surprised to find out that my real name was sent to that person as the inviter instead of my display name. Is this on purpose and can it please be changed to di...
