someone port OOS to the V20
@NathanOsman I don't even see your network there
but it does look like you were roaming in that so
do you think you'll be able to work any more tonight?
or is the concert going late?

@Takkat tired and lethargic this morning
but i haven't had coffee yet.
I could not speak a single letter without coffee :)
I can. But every single letter is dripping with chaotic evil when I don't get my coffee within 2 hours of waking up.
I'm currently sipping on my coffee it's just not kicked in yet.
<-- state improves considerably with 500 ml espresso
@Takkat considering I have 4 coffees a day, the caffeine intake is roughly the same. This evening should be interesting though, date night #2...
Evening dates work best after a lazy day.
Coffee is an extra bonus then.
12:20
@Takkat truth. 1AM is my expected "return home" time though.
so i'll be tired tomorrow.
Good thing i have a coffee maker at my desk!

actually the mere thought of it antagonizes 500 ml espresso.

Sugar all around!
@terdon I know. I can't edit that from my phone though, so blah. *throws salt at you*

@ThomasWard Noooo! You said sugar!
throws a battery @ThomasWard
@terdon Sugar for the bot. Salt for you.
@JourneymanGeek *absorbs the battery, starts glowing, lets off a blast of energy, and then returns to normal to sip his coffee*
... a salt, and battery....
@JourneymanGeek and explosions.
explosions are more fun. Salt is just salt. Batteries just give me energy.

Q: scale Maximum local port range

Willian Alberto BumbaI work as system administrator for a company and I found there is a server that run Ubuntu server 14.04, and mysql server listener port is 83306. How can I setup net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range higher than 65535? I attach to this post a screenshot of client connection mysqlworkbench.

@terdon literally impossible.
Either @ThomasWard or @DavidFoerster should just make their comments into an answer.
@KazWolfe Great. That doesn't make it unanswerable. "You can't do this because of A B and C" is a perfectly useful answer.
/shrug - i didn't CV.
just guessing
@terdon Ok. Done.
16:18
Can you set up an ssh tunnel for such a port @DavidFoerster?
@DavidFoerster Thanks.
@terdon No, because the tunnel is still going to pass through TCP packages.
Now I just wonder how he made that screenshot...
Maybe SSH has no such internal limitation on port number and "allows" it but it won't work in any case.

Brb, buying a kilo of tomatoes for a salad. =]
A kilo? That sounds less like salad and more like...

@ByteCommander A kilogram is only about 2.2 lbs.
(Yes, I realize kg is a measurement of mass and lb. is a measurement of force, but whatever :P)
16:39
@ByteCommander A kilo isn't much for tomatoes.

@Seth Oh?
@NathanOsman yeah I'm in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island right now.
Oh cool.
That's a nice area.
Haven't been to the island for a couple years.
18:48
@Seth Vancouver Island was pretty neat. I hope I can go again some time.
Did you ever make it to Victoria?
@AndroidDev wont work
@NathanOsman If you mean me, yes.
Yup.
I have a picture somewhere here of the parliament building at night...
That was over 10 years ago though. My parents rented a motorhome for us to drive around BC for 3 weeks and we spent the last 5 days on Vancouver Island.
18:52
Oh, so you've seen a lot of the province then :D
So I just had 15 tons of white rock in my driveway, who wants to help level it all out?
With lasers?
@NathanOsman Me at 17 at Athabasca Falls:
Nice.
Although technically that's in Alberta :D
I don't think I've been there since 2009.
So 8 years ago.
Yes, that was on our dip to Alberta but that's as far East as we went.
19:01
@KazWolfe are you sure you can't use a port higher? It think it was called empherael ports when above 64k
@DavidFoerster yeah found that already. Mysql can be setup to use those. It is session based port so gone when you kill the connection
I think it is used for replication(?) I faintly think to recollect something about that
@Rinzwind Is that in relation to the guy asking to assign a TCP port to MySQL above 65k?
yeah
he wants it for mysql :P

air raid sirens also start going off
the ground starts to shatter underneath him
@DavidFoerster @Rinzwind you broke it. Evil is coming.
hmmm funny @DavidFoerster ephemeral ports are also limited to 65k. :P
@Rinzwind exactly
ah well :D
made a comment :D
19:18
@DavidFoerster I think that's a picture from my trip.
Taken on a 0.3 MP cellphone camera :P
@NathanOsman: You mean a potato?
@Rinzwind Why do you say that?
Remember flip phones? Yeah.
The big feature at the time was digital 1x service.
CDMA2000, I think.
> "...with real world data transmission averaging 80–100 kbit/s in most commercial applications..."
Sounds about right.

Q: Ubuntu Server Suspend Cycle
