^^^ I've finally finished Serg & Byte's Display Auto Brightness script which brightens screen after sunrise and dims screen before sunset. Now I watch the systray every minute as brightness reduces from 1200 to 300-- the settings in config file.

OK working now... was subtracting from max bright instead of adding to min bright. Just have to wait for sunset at 6:18pm to see if it crashes.

Anyway @NathanOsman back to your Nitroshare project. I'm using Lollipop and Nautilus to move files to/from phone. How does yours differ?

I'm afraid that's all greek to me. I know my Sony TV runs Android and has hdmi, usb, wifi, cat5 and bluetooth. Plus my Sony blu-ray player also has hdmi, usb, wifi, cat5 and bluetooth but not sure if it's running android or not. I know Android and Mac are both based on Linux but still haven't ventured into those fields yet.

Of course my laptop has hdmi, usb, wifi, cat5 and bluetooth too :)

Unfortunately, DNS-SD with TXT records didn't come out until API level 21, which is Lollipop :(

So I'd have to write my own implementation in order to support older versions.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix nitpick: cat5 is a cable type, not a port type. You want RJ-45 (better known as Ethernet, but it has other uses)

Yeah I have RJ-45... cat5 sounds cooler... plus I have chromecast built into tv. The old tv I bought a chromecast dongle for it in 2014 or so but only used it a couple of times and got bored.

Cat 5/5E/6/6A all use an RJ-45 jack on the end in normal uses, but theoretically any CAT cable can use RJ-45 (unused pins are allowable)

RJ-11 was used primarily with Cat3 for a single twisted pair, but installs usually had more.

For example, RJ-14 was usually used to allow power to be transmitted if biases weren't used, but for the most part everyone just called it RJ-11 and used xPyC notation to differentiate

I ran a niche-software startup before and was quite successful until <insert long story here> happened. So I'll do a niche-software company again down the road I think.

There is no rush though....working as a warehouse receiver and witnessing the life of common men is an interesting social study. Mastering SQL can wait a bit longer.

I should mention I get rolls of coins from the bank for the laundry machines and keep them in containers in kitchen drawer. Always good to have lots of stock and never run out.

I used to play chess on yahoo.com until people used hacking programs to make the pieces move like crazy. Plus others told me people use PC chess games on the other side to make their moves. Might as well just play chess master solo.

I have a bunch of USB extension cables connected to the back of my PC and then the other end hangs on my desk.

Whenever I need to connect a device, the connector is sitting there right in front of me :D

I also have who-knows-how-many micro USB cables sitting around.

I only have one USB-C connector here though.
