Q: Rhythmbox: Where did the Jamendo/Magnatune plugins go?

ShazznerI used to love listening to Jamendo/Magnatune via Rhythmbox and it seemed they used to be included in the rhythmbox-plugins package, however the plugins do not appear in the plugins list and I can't find anything online saying they were removed or what not. When I type in "Rhythmbox jamendo" in ...

It appears this was part of an issue and was resolved Feb 06 in 12.04
Shazzner what version of ubuntu are you using?
@lazyPower oh well hot damn
let me see
2.95
i mean Ubuntu ^.^
oh heh

20:07
Oh its in the title derp
probably needs ppa or update
man I wish there was an easy way to update this stuff
I fixed the Diamond Dots!
No one likes the news of superness.
:(
20:24
Alright, here is some critique. The text should not overlap with the background like that if you already cut out the dots from the background.
Hello @TorbenGundtofteBruun! :)
OK, fixed it.
Any better?
The left part is good now.
Personally, I wouldn't put that much text in there.
(BTW Glade is awesome.
I'm referring to the right part.
How do I shorten that text?
Any suggestions?
20:28
I would remove the last sentence. Mainly because I have no idea how to shorten it.
One of the main focuses of the OS is to be user-friendly, so I want to keep that part.
You have also mentioned eye-candy. That is not really contributing to that image. Just sayin'. ;)
Can you answer this? Upgrade won't allow second display to go to 1920x1080 http://askubuntu.com/questions/28730/upgrade-wont-allow-second-display-to-go-to-1920x1080 #xorg

Hello everyone.

StackApplet's shiny new auth dialog:
It would be fancier without the Windows borders and stuff.
snap!
20:59
It kind of needs the titlebar - some pages don't display scrollbars properly so the only option is to resize the window.
@jrg my twitter feed is one hundred percent gold
...and here we are in the tray:
The icon changes color depending on whether there are unread messages / errors.
21:32
Wow! That's Windows 8!
It sure is.
jrg
jrg
@rlemon Heh.
@lazyPower Thanks, i'll eventually make the titles and stuff more "ruby-ish", but thats really about all I'll do with the site design wise.
Solid
@GeorgeEdison Uh Oh...
Darn.

Star that message.
It needs moar upvotes.
jrg
jrg
i can't start another 100 rep bounty for that question.
I would contribute 50 but I need rep.
Rep is tasty.
jrg
jrg
21:47
blech. um, @jorgecastro, you mentioned wanting to give away some rep, fossfreedom's answer is worth 100 rep and I can't start another bounty. :P
this is when I wish I had a sockpuppet account. one of the few times I might add.
@jrg Wait, there still is intellihide in Unity2D on Precise?
jrg
jrg
@OctavianDamiean As far as I know, yes.
At least right now.
Cause they removed it in Unity3D.
I was using dodge windows in unity mainly because it make the launcher go out of the way on maximized apps (like Kdenlive who is benefiting a lot from unity's capability of making the most space usable). But I was never hiding the launcher when I use "windowed" apps (like firefox on the left and openoffice on the righ part of the screen) because it helped me a lot switching with something else rapidly (like thunderbird, pidgin, etc) What I think to be a good third behavior of the launcher is to hide itself when one app or more are fullscreen and if they are not, being always there. There is some corner cases like if one app is full screen and the focused app is not. But I think this will not bring some crazy bugs like dodging windows did in the past.

Yeah I know.
I had to comment on that one.

Heh, nice bootstrap example.
It was the first website where I have experienced it. (and I like it and want more people to use it but shhhh) :D
I will fix the text when I have some free time.
@William addictivetips.com/windows-tips/… tomorrow i will install 8 & check if any patch is needed or not
Nah, I already fixed it.
okay guys tc bye
21:54
It was a button in the VM settings.
ohok thats g8
:)
22:14
And teh room goes silent.
Assuming that no one has already seen this. Enjoy keyboard warriors
jrg
jrg
@jokerdino ok, i did not know that.
now i'm going to figure out how to remap them to vim shortcuts. :)
I thought they were vim shortcuts? :)
jrg
jrg
make them more vim-link.
Right. Good luck with that!
22:35
@jokerdino Those are awesome.
yes sir.
It makes me feel like a keyboard ninja.
Time for breakfast and then college. Catch you guys later!
jrg
jrg
There is a chrome extension that lets you use shortcuts like that all over the internet.
@jrg That sounds pretty cool.
jrg
jrg
think its called vimium or something like that.
@jrg Do you use Vim a lot?
jrg
jrg
22:38
Yes.
Ah, is it worth taking the time to learn?
jrg
jrg
Definitely.
because if you ssh to a server, you're going to have access to it.
I use nano for text-based editing and it works well enough... but I'm open to alternatives.
jrg
jrg
if configured right, it can be an ide without the lag.
i'm going to start using that and a special byobu setup for rubycasts, just show how you can live in the terminal and browser. :)
There's always Lynx for terminal users :)
jrg
jrg
22:41
Last I checked, I can't do ask ubuntu in Lynx. :{
@jrg You might want to check out column80.com
jrg
jrg
I can't do mod tools stuff with it. :P
so its useless to me.
@jrg That's unfortunately one of the downsides - it only uses the API so it doesn't have access to authenticated data.
jrg
jrg
ok, moving on.
can't live in lynx, so not worth it. :)
Next up... Dillo :)
jrg
jrg
22:45
Heck, the mobile version of the site doesn't have mod tools. and the close votes UI sucks.
@jrg As soon as the API exposes that data, Stack Mobile will too.
jrg
jrg
@GeorgeEdison Heck yeah, I'll love you. :P
Okay, I admit Dillo has a ways to go:
Wow! It still works!
But hey - it has tabs.
22:52
jrg
jrg
No JS, so no.
Can anyone see that image?
@William Looks like imgur problems.
Hmm... but then that doesn't explain the Gravatar issue.
22:53
My dad has the router turn off the internet.
Try holding down shift while refreshing the page.
So, its off now.
jrg
jrg
@William but we see your messages.
Miraculously, I can still talk `to you guys.
I know.
@William Then how come we can talk to you?
22:54
But if I go to a new page -
I want free internet like that!
So, its probably a bug in the router.
I can also continue to download files.
jrg
jrg
@William let me tell you this
This may be a wild guess... maybe HTTP keep-alive is helping us talk to you.
So I think it only closes new connection
22:55
And any additional connections are being dropped.
@jrg Shoot.
^ what @GeorgeEdison said
Whats your buess?
Oh, that the new connections arent going th0oigh.
jrg
jrg
if your parents are trying to restrict your internet, they probably have a pretty insert-explicitive-of-choice-here good reason to do that.
If I put in a usb wireless adapter the internet works.
I have a pretty long history of battling my parents over computer.
My parents hate anyone with a facebook account.
jrg
jrg
22:57
trust me, my parents wouldn't let me use my iPod touch until I agreed to some rules.
@William oh, i don't blame them there.
because Facebook is evil.
5
Yeah, I'm with @jrg here. Your parents are probably just trying to protect you.
jrg
jrg
@William suggestion: bring it up politely.
and have your own set of ground rules that you're willing to abide by.
jrg
jrg
examples include: 1. not past 9PM on a school night. 2. Encourage them to setup something like OpenDNS filtering.
(Particularly the openDNS family shield thing that blocks adult content only)
Lastly, and this is important - present anything you come up with to them in as professional and as grown up a manner as you can - if you whine, they will ignore you, 150% guaranteed.
Annd..... I think I lost @William. :(
Okay, fair warning to everyone - if you are using the daily builds for StackApplet, be prepared for it to stop functioning with the next update due to a complete rewrite in Qt and a lot of features not being implemented yet.
I'm also moving the translations to a separate branch since having them in the same branch as the code has been a nightmare.
jrg
jrg
23:07
@GeorgeEdison cool.
The daily build script will still merge them and (hopefully) convert the po files to mo files.
@GeorgeEdison if you need any further translation in pt, pt-br, nl ping me ;)
@BrunoPereira Excellent, thank you.
I haven't got that far yet - Qt has a totally different setup for translations.
...but I will try to ping everyone when it's ready.
@GeorgeEdison any time you need
23:33
@jrg William was eating dinner.
Gooooooood Morning Vietnam!!!!!
You still there?
BTW they already set up opendns
but it was blocking omgubuntu so i got rid of it
changing dns servers isnt that hard.
the only time I ever got in trouble on the pc was in 1999, I got my first PC and hacked my parents PC from the basement (I was 13 so all I could think of doing was renaming all of their files and folders to dirty / vulgar words)
I heard my mom scream... gave myself away by not being able to control my laughing.
ohh and I kept ejecting her CD-ROM (hence the scream)
lol
Your'e really mature.
dude... i was 13

Building StackApplet 1.6 Alpha on Ubuntu...
Dude, i was 13
2012
@GeorgeEdison I like stackalert better.
Wait until StackApplet 1.6 is available for testing...
You will like it better, trust me.
Can you answer this? How can I make a launcher for ALT+TAB window switcher? http://askubuntu.com/questions/44050/how-can-i-make-a-launcher-for-alttab-window-switcher #unity
Important question: is anyone here still using Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick) or earlier?
