@JorgeCastro here's one that looks like its worth a 50 rep bounty - askubuntu.com/questions/34219/how-do-i-autosuspend-a-usb-device
@jrg Can I add bounty and stir?
jrg
jrg
sure, if you want. I do recommend you save yourself the rep, since Jorge will probably do it. :)
@jrg Why are you starting this bounty? What should I select?
(BTW You said yourself that reputation isnt worth much)
jrg
jrg
Looking to draw attention, and something that amounts to "I'm looking for an authoritative answer that will work on 10.04-11.10 if possible."
@William yes, but rep gives you useful things. like edits without approval.
and close votes. and more fancy buttons to use wisely. I encourage you to get more rep. :)
Yes, but then you dont get the +2 rep per edit.
jrg
jrg
01:28
But you only get +200 of that max anyway. :)
No, 1000 of that
And I sollemly pledge to try to get 200 rep tonight.
For now - I have to clean the bathroom.
Otherwise, my mom charges me 15 dollars.

Hello. :)
Neat, thank you.
11:58
@CaptNemo thanks for the link
I was using dodge windows in unity mainly because it make the launcher go out of the way on maximized apps (like Kdenlive who is benefiting a lot from unity's capability of making the most space usable). But I was never hiding the launcher when I use "windowed" apps (like firefox on the left and openoffice on the righ part of the screen) because it helped me a lot switching with something else rapidly (like thunderbird, pidgin, etc) What I think to be a good third behavior of the launcher is to hide itself when one app or more are fullscreen and if they are not, being always there. There is some corner cases like if one app is full screen and the focused app is not. But I think this will not bring some crazy bugs like dodging windows did in the past.

Q: Ubuntu 12.04 (and probably also previous version), use NTFS filesystem for the /home partition

jakbestWhy if you install Ubuntu (12.04, and probably previous versions) with the normal installer option, it uses by default NTFS filesystem for the /home partition? Why it doesn't use EXT3/EXT4, which are more performant?

Close it please!

@jokerdino This does not answer the question exactly askubuntu.com/questions/104584/…
How about moving this question to ask.libreoffice.org?
That question is on topic here.
I will be back shortly.
I am also moving it to ask.libreoffice.org

Do we?
you're in it
I mean the official kinda one?
But, am I really in the team? I didn't know that.
The Chaos team is a paid team isn't it?
It is not just a community team.
I know it is a paid team. But our site doesn't have the chaos team. So, I am proposing one from our own community.
Well, basically, a bunch of people who can bother to review stuff.
I am not making sense, am I?
@jokerdino The Chaos team is SE network wide.

Are they? I don't find them doing things here though.
@nitstorm Thanks, mate!
@jokerdino no problemo :D
Yup they are a SE network wide team.

You closed: askubuntu.com/questions/105584/… with the following reason: askubuntu.com/questions/18641/… but my question isn't about an issue, my question is: I see in the alpha 2 that with the normal installer option, ubuntu created 2 partition and one of this in ntfs.
Then, will canonical uses ntfs as /home partition's filesystem in ubuntu? And if it is yes, why don't they use the better ext4?

I did so on my netbook but flash works fine on my laptop.

I'm building it using Customizer.

true
but some questions deserve a downvote, and you should leave a comment but you don't have to. it's in the FAQ!
@Alvar yeah.. but it's courtesy, and the next guy who comments on it gets blamed for down-voting for no reason.

@nitstorm but there's always a reason for downvoting..
@Alvar agreed.. just saying it would be a nicer place if it were accompanied with appropriate comments

@William assuming you own cboos.com?
Right, on Ask Ubuntu it is not so much necessary to down-vote. On Stack Overflow on the other hand ... well ...
down voting is just part of the game, should be useful as voting up. Voting is important, no matter in which direction. Just leave a comment explaining your reasons so the user at least has a chance to fix it.
