@ByteCommander Yes a couple of hours ago I wanted to spend a bounty on a good question. But the one you are linking is a question I just posted and ineligible for bounty for 2 days :(
@WinEunuuchs2Unix Wow wow... Normally I say context in questions is good, but that wall of text is a bit much context compared to the actual question, don't you think? That's almost a new question on its own.
I know it's off topic to talk about Ubuntu in this room but... I must say newest kernel update 4.4.0-53 is running Intel p-states and thermald very very nicely... low CPU utilization and temps 20 degrees C lower.
@Zanna so.. apparently the system takes the amount of time you spend on each review into account rather heavily, which is why you got banned after only 2 failures (apparently you were going "fast" according to it in the LQP queue). I've removed the ban but I do want to know what your thought process behind this one was: askubuntu.com/review/low-quality-posts/654378
Don't attack much weight to the audit system. It absolutely does not work well and everyone knows that. They are trying to improve it, but it is a hard thing to improve.
@Seth I did notice one improvement... When trying to post a comment which before could be an audit failure the system now says "This is an audit" which tells me don't bother making a comment and decide whether to delete, approve or my chicken option "skip".
@WinEunuuchs2Unix well . . uh . . ok. It kinda grew past the size of a comment at this point, and it's an answer as far as providing logical reasoning goes, but . . . ok
@Seth aah yes that was really bad, not enough thinking for that one, of course. I looked at the off-topic question, and I thought "this is just your opinion" because it sounds like bad science "if there was something wrong with x, people wouldn't be doing it" "it's OK for me, so you won't have any issues either"
@Zanna my problem with that answer is I think an older LTS is more stable than the latest LTS. ie I had a lot of problems with 16.04 when ubuntu prompted me to upgrade off of 14.04. It wasn't until very recently that I'm happy witih 16.04.
@Zanna that is true... I'm just pointing out the blanket answer "newest LTS is better than older LTS" is not always true when the LTS is like bleeding-edge new.
Personally I wouldn't have deleted it but I would have commented like I just did here, which in the old days would be an audit failure but now the software says "This is an audit" when you try to post your comment.
I was quite annoyed about an audit I failed that way - that one was unjust because the comment was completely judicious and when I made it for real the poster thanked me and made a correction hahaha
@WinEunuuchs2Unix thanks, but I'm clumsy, so I need to sweat a bit to stay sharp :)
In one audit failure I had tried to comment on something Seth or Byte or another leading AU'er had posted and it was like "this is a great answer" and the audit software said something like "how dare you try to comment on this community accepted answer"... and I was "holy crap"
I was very pleasantly surprised when I passed an audit recently when I tried to edit a good post to make a small correction, it said something like "it's always good to make a great post even better, well done you"
