Q: SVN connection refused (Ubuntu)

Merve SahinI'm trying to check out my repository, but it can not connect to my project archive and refuses the connection. When I try to checkout in Uni it works, but not at home. I tried to change the ~/.subversion/servers file but it didn't work. I've been struggling with this issue for a long time, can ...

So, my work is finally moving over to Google Classroom for the upcoming school year. I'm really enjoying it.
what's Google classroom?
user139252
It's like an online class system... Run by Google :P
19:47
that sounds scary. and cool.
and scary.
user139252
For teachers, it's super easy. It works just like Google Drive.
user139252
You press the "+" icon, add an assignment.
user139252
You can accept submissions through it, assign due dates, and even link Google Forms questionnaires.
+1 from me on the "scary" list...
user139252
In the dashboard, you can see quickly see how many students have or have not finished the assignments. Once you click on an assignment, you can choose to either return it or accept it for grading.
user139252
19:50
It's free, though, unlike systems like Sakai or Blackboard.
And who would attend those classes?
user139252
Only students that have been given codes to access the classes.
user139252
You have to have a "Google Apps for Education" account, and the student accounts need to be created by your administration.
Aha. ANyway, got to go. Good night.
user139252
19:54
'Night Byte.
Who needs GAFE help?
user139252
20:17
@TheXed Nobody, they were just interested in what it was.
@TheBrownOne oh, I see.
user139252
I got my old job back, and they're finally switching over to Google Classroom :D
Congrats on getting your job back.
@TheBrownOne :D
user139252
Why are all of Libreoffice's templates so ugly? :/
user139252
20:22
Trying to make a flier for students to join STEM club again when I get back, but I can't find anything good to work off of.
@TheBrownOne Open Source program that gets no money
20:35
\^0^/ the chat works in China !!!
@Serg your in china?
@Serg whoa
YESH
Beijing to be precise
Have any food yet?
@Serg eat lots of food for me :D
20:37
Yeah, we ate , then came back to the hotel and I passed out, so missed the time to call my mom
IT's like 4 AM here
4:37 to be exact
well, have fun!
@Seth will do ,yessir
China is a very interesting place.
@Serg it is just a matter of time before the Great Firewall of China finds out about you
20:38
lol
First impression is that the houses look like in Ukraine, only it's all more massive
you know why there are no cats in china ?
@TheXed oh, i am sure they already know
user139252
There's no SE site for Google Sheets, is there?
@Serg okay before they shut you down then.
20:40
@Videonauth havent figured out that yet :p
@TheBrownOne no.
@Serg better get a VPN or five
@Videonauth that's... not true. Rare maybe, but not none :P
imagine, the whole day long Mao Mao Mao
@Videonauth HAHAHAHAHA
oh man.
20:40
Oh, that's funny XD
missing something
@Serg how long are you in the Communist Republic of China anyways?
Mao Zedong (/ˈmaʊ zəˈdʊŋ, dzə-/), also transliterated as Mao Tse-tung and commonly referred to as Chairman Mao (December 26, 1893 – September 9, 1976), was a Chinese communist revolutionary and founding father of the People's Republic of China, which he governed as Chairman of the Communist Party of China from its establishment in 1949, until his death in 1976. His Marxist–Leninist theories, military strategies, and political policies are collectively known as Maoism or Marxism–Leninism–Maoism. Born the son of a wealthy farmer in Shaoshan, Hunan, Mao adopted a Chinese nationalist and anti-imperialist...
Mao also stands for cat , only different intonation
20:41
@Serg oh that too.
I forgot about that part.
@TheXed I leave on 7th
user139252
I'm having troubles. I've got a drop down that updates a range of cells with information from other sheets. However, if you try making changes to that data, the cell holding the formula for updating throws a reference error
so I'll be in the US back by 8th
20:42
xD
Where to next, North Korea?
@Serg are you on spring break?
@TheXed yes
Ah the man responsible for China's glorious "Great Leap Forward" which propelled them from an agrarian society into a fully industrialized first world nation.
@Seth well , summer break effectively . But I'm going to China for the language and culture summer camp .
20:42
@AaronHall well, that's one way of looking at it.
@Serg sweet!
Anonymous
I just read something funny, from this course's syllabus
after the camp is over i'll be going to shanghai , and hopefully yangzhou , see my friends
Anonymous
> Students with AOL Internet access will need to use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to complete the work for this online course.
Wish me luck. I'm wiping my secondary ROM
Anonymous
who has AOL anymore?
20:43
me
:p
<.< @Zacharee1 You like antiques i see
My Spanish book, copyright 2016, mentions modems (and not cable modems)
@Serg I got a laptop for Windows 95 working once
@onebree all my relatives -.-
actually it's getting better but there are at least 2 of them that still use AOL.
Sweet, I'd love to play around with Win98 again. I used to have a PC with that when I came to the US but it was given to Goodwill
Anonymous
oh boy.. this 6-week course requires 10-12 hours of my time per week.
20:46
@onebree oh noes
ooh, Animaniacs put Witch Hazel in
terrible voice actor though, at least compared to Mel Blanc
@Serg lol why did you give it to good will?
they don't even want it...

Later in the syllabus for this online course:

> We will spend some of our class time reading our free writings aloud.
sounds like fun
@TheXed The full trip is supposed to be like so : Couple days in Beijing , then on to Jinan until June 1st, then I will attempt to go to Yangzhou and then Shanghai, and leave on June 7th . No, thanks nope, no North Korea. China is way cooler :p ( not literally though, it's gonna be 88 tomorrow )
20:48
o_O
@onebree freewriting shouldn't be read outloud
it's supposed to be stream of thought , and not for outside eyes
@onebree lol wut
Anonymous
Yeah....
Sounds like a good course then
Flashing the new CM build. It's Odexed this time, so hopefully faster boot times
Anonymous
Ugh, first assignment is to read 95 pages in a week, respond to 3 discussion questions, free write for 2 pages, THEN write a 3 page essay
20:50
O_O
Why are you doing this again?
Anonymous
college req
Rebooting into CM now
Anonymous
And I didn't realize how rigourous a english 1 class would be, even for the half semester
English 1?!
Strange, CM13's boot animation is the same as CM12
Anonymous
I actually took English 2 at my prev college, and skipped English 1 for reasons... But prev college didn't record it like that, so I still need to take it here at new college
user139252

anyone in here good with using Google Sheets?
I think it works from Ubuntu, if that's the question...

user139252
I've already gotten data validation and a general formula down. You choose a class from the drop-down, and it populates the cells below it with that class roster, pulled from another sheet. However, you can't edit any of that data from there
@onebree write about the music , the flow of which poetically corresponds to the flow of thought and code . . .
yes , that's a bit of BS, but the point of writing isn't always to make it real
Anonymous
20:57
@Serg I don't listen to music, because I find that it distracts me. I don't hear anything really -- I tune it all out into white noise when I work
make it poetic - that'll give you a good grade
Anonymous
Strong details and description of characters -- I don't know, because I work remotely through chat. No video or phone.
@onebree does your professor know that ? more importantly does your professor care about it ? Like i said, make it poetic, make it pretty, and no one really cares if it's true or not
"clackety clack clack"

Flashing GApps to CM so I can install Titanium Backup so I can restore from my backup

It's a shame this professor wants everything in MS Word files... I would much rather type of a markdown file, and send her the processed output
Hangouts...Keep...GKeyboard...Maps...
@onebree lol

@Zacharee1 Keep, Calendar, Google itself, Rewards, Play Music, YouTube, Drive
Yesh
Rebooting now that I've flashed GApps
See, what I dont understand is why everyone in the academic community is so hung up on the dreaded 12 point Times New Roman , double spaced standard ???
Hopefully my boot will be faster
@Serg You should meet my English teacher
Anonymous
@Serg It is ugly and wasteful. I prefer 1.5 spacing
21:09
@Zacharee1 is she Asian and single ? If so, I might consider that
Times New Roman, 12pt, 1.5 or double spaced, 1-inch margins, no paragraph spacing, no headers, it goes on
@Serg white, married, 59

> When starting a new draft, rename the file from, for example "NARRATIVE1" to "NARRATIVE2".
I think they like writing in notes and for markup on errors

^ #git #versioncontrol
@onebree guh
@Mateo that's the reason
Cool, I only needed to optimize 5 apps after flashing GApps
Noice
21:10
had one that insisted on two spaces after periods typewriter style
Anonymous
@Mateo At least with modern word processors, it will correct that automatiically
Luckly in Engineering nobody cares about fonts. I can use Courier for any lab report
@Mateo ewwwwwwwww
im a fan of arial
@Serg should use Scriptina
Anonymous
21:12
I see nothing about fonts so far for this class... So I am using monospace all the way
@onebree the assignment's difficult for you so make it difficult for the professor: use a script font
Anonymous
@Zacharee1 If that's the case, I'll just hand write everything and fax over everything
No, you need to type it, print it, scan it to PDF, convert to image and then email it
Anonymous
And use OCR to convert it back to Word
21:14
You can convert images to text?
huh
4/11 apps optimized
Going slowly, but much better than 4/the usual 170

One of the students in ENG 1020 class wrote about Deadpool actually . . . not my class, but I was the labtech in the lab where that class was held every monday . . .
Her thesis was basically is that the public is sick and tired of all the traditional heroes
